Los Angeles Clippers Doc Rivers used a timeout during a contest to urge the Staples Center crowd to stand and clap for Nowitzki. ESPN reports : Dirk Nowitzki had no idea why LA Clippers coach Doc Rivers called a timeout with 9.4 seconds remaining and his team leading by nine points Monday night. Rivers’ reasoning became clear seconds later when he walked to the scorer’s table, picked up the public address announcer’s microphone and gave an impromptu tribute to Nowitzki, the legendary face of the Dallas Mavericks franchise who is in his 21st season. “Dirk! Dirk!” Rivers hollered, gesturing to the Staples Center crowd to show its appreciation to the all-time great who was playing perhaps his last game in the arena, then pointing toward Nowitzki. “Let’s go! Let’s go! Let’s go!” “One of the greatest of all time, Dirk Nowitzki!” Dirk Nowitzki hasn’t officially retired but it’s rumored he will step down at the conclusion of the current NBA season. — Photo: Getty

Source: Caroline McCredie / Getty Rihanna Is Suing Her Father For Trying To Jack The Fenty Name It looks like Rihanna’s relationship with her father isn’t getting better any time soon. According to reports from The Blast , the makeup mogul is suing her dad, Ronald Fenty–along with his company called Fenty Entertainment–for exploiting her name for his own gains. According to court docs, Ms. Robyn Fenty claims that her father along with another man, Moses Perkins, created the entertainment company and have been soliciting business acting as agents of the singer, the site reports. The singer says she is not involved with Fenty Entertainment what-so-ever, and that “Although Mr. Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he does not have, and never has had, authority to act on Rihanna’s behalf.” Rihanna claims that her father booked a $15 million tour in Latin America and two concerts at the Staples Center in LA and the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for $400,000, for which she says she has no involvement in. Rihanna also says that her father claims he got approval from her label, Roc Nation, before booking, but the singer argues that no one from Roc Nation knew about the endeavors. Rihanna, who has multiple business endeavors under the Fenty name including Fenty Beauty, Savage X Fenty, and Fenty PUMA, says she sent several cease and desist letters to her father and his partner, but to no avail. Rih is asking the judge to place an injunction on Fenty Entertainment, and for the damages, according to reports from TMZ . As we mentioned before, Rihanna’s relationship with her father hasn’t been too positive in the past either, and she has spoken previously about him being physically abusive to her mother. Source: Harry How / Getty We have a feeling the purple and gold will be represented well by LeBron James . His first game as a Los Angeles Laker was a success. On Sunday, September 30 Los Angeles squared off against Denver in their preseason opener at the Staples Center. From the beginning of the game ‘Bron made it clear he wants prime billing on The Lake Show. As ESPN noted his first official contribution to the team came in the form of a no-look assist bounce pass to Brandon Ingram which led to a slam dunk. James’ first points were also in superstar fashion as he sank a three-pointer from 26 feet away. He finished the night with nine points, three assists, and three rebounds. The three-time champion took to Instagram to commemorate his first outing on the new team. “Can’t even front, it’s just felt different! Goosebumps! #striveforgreatness #thekidfromakron “. He went on to detail his excitement in a post-game interview. “It always feels different for me anytime you change uniforms,” he explained. “It felt different when I changed from a St. Vincent-St. Mary jersey to a Cavs jersey, from a Cavs jersey to a Heat jersey, back to a Cavs jersey and now being a Laker. So, it definitely feels different, and it’ll take a little bit of time getting used to.” The Lakers play their first official game of the 2018-2019 NBA season on October 18 against the Portland Trailblazers. Their opener is at The Staples Center on Oct. 20 against the Houston Rockets. — Photo: Getty

Celebrities arrive for the 59th Grammy Awards Red Carpet held at the Staples Center in Downtown LA.Pictured: Fat Joe and Remy Ma Remy Ma Opens Up About Fertility Struggle Rapper Remy Ma said she still plans to conceive a child with husband Papoose after suffering a traumatic miscarriage last year. “On Love & Hip Hop, me and my husband chose to share our story with our loss,” Remy told us at Mona Scott Young’s birthday dinner Feb. 15 before heading to LA to promote her new album, “Plata O Plomo,” a collaboration with Fat Joe. “I actually had an ectopic pregnancy, where you’re pregnant, but it’s not in the womb. It’s happening in your fallopian tubes, which are not designed to carry a baby.” Remy said she first suffered an ectopic pregnancy when she was just 17 – and almost died from internal bleeding. “I didn’t even know I was pregnant,” she said. “They did a tubal ligation, where they took a tube out, but I still had one fallopian tube left, and they said it would be hard for me to have a baby.” But her diagnosis didn’t stop her from delivering a healthy son, now 16, and trying for a baby with Papoose. She said the night she lost her baby, she had a big concert and went on despite feeling unwell. The pain gradually got worse, and Papoose ended up taking her to the hospital in the middle of the night. “I kind of knew after they did the sonogram,” Remy said. “They (the hospital staff) started moving differently. The nurse was making phone calls. I was like, ‘What’s happening?’” Her remaining fallopian tube burst because of the baby, and after surgery, doctors told her that she wouldn’t be able to conceive naturally. Now, she said she’s working with a medical team to complete a round of IVF once she fully recovers from the ectopic pregnancy, and she said she hopes one day that the expensive treatment is accessible to all women. “So many women have been through the same thing, and I realized that in-vitro is minimum $15,000 or $20,000, easily,” Remy told BOSSIP. “There’s no cheaper route. I have the money, so I didn’t think about it, but the average woman that this happens to doesn’t have that kind of money.” The Grammy-nominated artist added: “So, a girl like me, who wasn’t blessed to become a rapper or have the salary that I have, if this happens to her, she has to go through life without having any children. And I think it’s so crazy that you can use your health insurance, not to have a child, but to have an abortion. I don’t understand that.” But besides making babies and music, Remy said she is also working on a relationship book with Papoose. “Her’s going to give his perspective andI’m going to give mine,” she said. “Everyone is always asking us, how do you guys do it? How do I find a man like that…It’s really based on how we treat each other, how we feel about each other and how we keep our relationship together.”
