Over the weekend, the rapper announced that he has acquired a recently-closed location of the burger chain Bud’s Broiler, which he will be rebranding and relaunching with his own fixings. “The Ink dry is dry so now I can talk about it,” Curren$y wrote in the caption of his Instagram post on Saturday while posing in front of the restaurant. “For years me and my loved ones have pulled up to this historic location near City Park to enjoy a tasty burger… recently the place went up for sale…. I was considering purchasing a dawn and a Bentley…. instead I bought a business….. now it’s time to remodel and rebrand… #lifeburgerNola coming soon… @mousa504 we gotta bust another move cuz I still want the Bentley and the dawn tho haha” According to a report published by NOLA.com , a court order forced the former restaurant to close in December after a legal dispute over the franchise agreement between the location’s then-owner and the burger chain’s parent company. Fast forward to current day: the name Life Burger LLC was registered on Friday, January 25 by Mousa Hamdan—Curren$y’s longtime manager and business partner. According to the report, Spitta plans to both remodel and rebrand the building quickly, with Hamdan adding that a meeting this week will determine the actual opening date for the new digs. This brand new business venture is a great start to the rapper’s 2019, who had some pretty notable experiences back in 2018, too. The biggest news last year was Curren$y welcoming his first child with his girlfriend back in November. Career-wise, he also released various projects including Fetti , his long-anticipated collab album with Freddie Gibbs. Lil Uzi’s slot is going to be filled by Rae Sremmurd and a “special guest,” who is thought by many to be Gunna. It has not yet been specified why Uzi decided to drop out of the inaugural festival, but it’s safe to assume that it has something to do with his recently announced retirement. In the beginning of the year, the Philadelphia rapper took to his Instagram page claiming he had deleted all of his material and that he was “done” with music. “I wanna take the time out to say I thank each and every one of my supporters but I’m done with Music,” he wrote on his Insta-Stories at the time. “I deleted everything. I wanna be normal … I wanna wake up in 2013. You are free.” Just this past Tuesday, Uzi shared another Instagram story that gave fans a little hope: “Wish I still could go to the studio,” he wrote over a photo of himself, “just reminiscing.” The public still isn’t really clear on why Uzi doesn’t want to make music right now, but everyone is just hoping he makes his way back to the studio soon.

But honestly, it’s hard to have sympathy for someone who’s allegedly a cheating a$$ knee-grow. Yes, we don’t know the ins and outs of their relationship, but that’s exactly why Offset should just lay low and work out their issues privately. Making a big, so-called romantic gesture most likely glosses over all the mess that went down and further portrays Offset as superficial. Now, festival organizers claim they had nothing to do with it, insisting Cardi’s team helped the Migos rapper with his shenanigans. Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif told Complex , “Headliners and their teams have full control of the stage and who is allowed on it during their set at Rolling Loud. The festival does not interfere with or influence a headliner’s set list. We have never and will never do anything to change a headliner’s set.” “We were tipped off that something was going to happen, but had nothing to do with the organization or execution of it,” Cherif added, before explaining away those deleted tweets that made Rolling Loud look guilty as all hell . “We were tipped off that Cardi was going to have multiple surprise guests, corroborated by what she said in her IG Live. One of specific guests we were told about didn’t end up showing up so we deleted the tweet, which is standard for us when things change as the night goes on,” he told Complex. “Deleting old tweets with bad intel isn’t usually alarming but once we realized that we were getting dragged for the surprise interruption, we panicked and deleted the tweet bc we knew it was going to make things look worse. In hindsight, deleting those tweets actually made us look worse. C hanning Dungey , the ABC Entertainment Group president who pulled the plug on the Roseanne reboot, turned a page in her impressive career that includes becoming the first Black president at a major broadcast network. See Also: 7 Times Black TV Shows Got Political And We Loved It The online streaming giant Netflix hired Dungey as a vice president who will oversee original content, Hollywood Reporter said on Monday. “I’m drawn to the forward-thinking, risk-taking and creative culture at Netflix, and the deeply talented people there, especially Ted (Sarandos) and Cindy (Holland) , with whom I’m excited to partner on setting the strategy for original content,” said Dungey, who starts her new position in February. Dungey was expected to share the vice president of originals position with Holland and report directly to her. The Black executive will also have a direct line of communication to content chief Sarando. Joining Netflix also gives Dungey the opportunity to reconnect with Shonda Rhimes , the creator of “Scandal,” and “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris .
