Kailyn Lowry has tried and tried and then tried some more. However, she may finallly be done with Chris Lopez. What went wrong between the former lovers? It's not clear. And who the heck knows, maybe they still have a romantic future together. But you can scroll down to see how Kailyn just made it sound like her recent efforts to reconcile have not been going very smoothly… and how she may be very close to giving up. 1. What? Weren’t Things Looking Good?!? Yes. As you can see above, Lopez joined Lowry to celebrate their son Lux’s first birthday in August. 2. And Haven’t They Said Some Nice Things About Each Other? Yes, very nice! This was Chris late last year, for example, on Twitter: “Sitting back. I got a lot of respect for [Lux’s] mother… I don’t know how she does it.” 3. And Weren’t They Seen Holding Hands Even? You know it. We wrote about that sighting HERE . 4. Exactly. We Were All Excited fof Them. So… what happened? 5. This Tweet Happened We don’t have much to go on aside from it, but it’s never a good sign when someone asks: “At what point does it go from “trying” to forcing a relationship to work? Thoughts?” 6. Netflix’s hit film Bird Box took viewers and Twitter by storm and spawned hilarious memes . Unfortunately, it also inspired the Bird Box Challenge, in which people film themselves blindfolded. This is so dangerous that Netflix has put out a PSA begging people to not deliberately blind themselves. Bird Box was a hit on Netflix during this holiday season. It was thrilling and compelling and Sandra Bullock is, as always, an inspired casting choice. Unfortunately, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, as evidenced by people participating in the “Bird Box Challenge.” In the film, the characters must wear blindfolds most of the time in order to avoid being driven to kill themselves by violent apparitions. Some Netflix viewers with too much time on their hands decided to “challenge” themselves to navigate while blindfolded. Whether it’s in their homes or outdoors, the results tend to be either boring, messy, or dangerous. Putting on a blindfold does not magically transform you into the titular character of Daredevil . In fact, outside of the bedroom, it usually just leads to injuries. This is so bad that Netflix themselves have stepped in on social media. In a tweet on Wednesday, Netflix implored their followers to let this trend die as quickly as it sprang into being. “Can’t believe I have to say this,” the tweet begins. “But: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE.” “We don’t know how this started,” Netflix says. “And we appreciate the love,” “But Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019,” the tweet reads. Netflix concludes: “and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.” That’s a pretty good wish. Unlike actual memes, which involve photos and videos and are usually harmless, challenge culture can be dangerous. Popular on video-sharing sites and especially on YouTube, people vie for social media clout by emulating others. The pressure to make your video not only watchable but sensational — in the hopes of going viral — can be dangerous. Participants — especially teens, but also grown-ass adults — can and do endanger themselves in their desperate effort for clicks. Viral fame can transform someone’s life, so they’re willing to risk it all. But you know what else can change your life? A life-altering injury . It’s right there in the name. This of course brings to mind a challenge that was passed around in January of 2018. Harmless memes shared on social media about forbidden snacks — household items that people had resisted eating as children — spawned a challenge. The Tide Pod Challenge was mostly an inflated joke, as people would edit videos to make it appear that they ate laundry detergent. There were people who, perhaps not realizing that the videos were edited, were not in on the joke. A few people tried to earn social media clout by actually putting tide pods into their mouths. Though only a handful of people genuinely participated, we would remind members of the TGH Nation: please do not ingest bleach. Just as you would not ingest dish soap in the hopes of racking up YouTube views, please do not participate in the Bird Box challenge. We don’t know how many people are actually doing it and how many are filming themselves acting out rehearsed blunders. Regardless, actually depriving yourself of eyesight for fun is just a recipe for disaster. Head injuries are no joke. And quite frankly, neither is a stubbed toe. If you are lucky enough to have eyesight, use it to navigate your world safely. Not everyone is so lucky. View Slideshow: Bird Box Memes Hilariously Take Over Twitter
Source: Scott Dudelson / Getty The internet went crazy when Offset crashed his soon-to-be ex-wife’s headlining set at Rolling Loud in a feeble attempt to win her back. Now, festival organizers claim they had nothing to do with it, insisting Cardi’s team helped the Migos rapper with his shenanigans. Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif told Complex , “Headliners and their teams have full control of the stage and who is allowed on it during their set at Rolling Loud. The festival does not interfere with or influence a headliner’s set list. We have never and will never do anything to change a headliner’s set.” “We were tipped off that something was going to happen, but had nothing to do with the organization or execution of it,” Cherif added, before explaining away those deleted tweets that made Rolling Loud look guilty as all hell . “We were tipped off that Cardi was going to have multiple surprise guests, corroborated by what she said in her IG Live. One of specific guests we were told about didn’t end up showing up so we deleted the tweet, which is standard for us when things change as the night goes on,” he told Complex. “Deleting old tweets with bad intel isn’t usually alarming but once we realized that we were getting dragged for the surprise interruption, we panicked and deleted the tweet bc we knew it was going to make things look worse. In hindsight, deleting those tweets actually made us look worse. We recognize that it was a poor decision.” They also deleted this. pic.twitter.com/FdEfTh22HS — blah (@fushigiqueen) December 16, 2018 After hearing that Cardi’s team helped Offset facilitate the surprise, fans came at her publicist…but the “I Like It” rapper isn’t here for that, just like she isn’t here for any baby daddy bashing . “Y’all expect me to be OK with y’all dragging her because y’all don’t agree with some sh*t?” she asked via social media. “She was trying to help a man that was telling her like, ‘Yo, I love my wife. Please help me get my wife.’ She told me what happened. I’m not gonna let y’all drag my b*tch for that. Y’all buggin’ and thuggin’.” Watch below. Kevin Hart out as host of the 2019 Academy Awards . As you’ve likely read by now, the comedian stepped down from this post after a series of homophobic Tweets and jokes from 2010 surfaced online. Hart could have apologized. He could have explained that these were just failed attempts at humor and he’s learned and grown since and understands why they were offensive. But he did neither of these things. Instead, Hart went on the offensive, lashing out on Instagram as follows: “Stop looking for reasons to be negative,” he initially wrote on Instagram in response to this scandal. “If u want to search my history or past and anger yourselves with what u find that is fine with me,” he continued. “You LIVE and YOU LEARN & YOU GROW & YOU MATURE. Please take your negative energy and put it into something constructive.” As you can see below, Hart simply got crazy defensive over the notion that he owed anyone a mea culpa. Hours later, Hart resigned as Oscars host because he claimed organizers asked him to apologize — and, still, he refused. “I chose to pass, I passed on the apology. The reason why I passed is because I’ve addressed this several times,” he explained, adding in stupid detail: This is not the first time this has come up. I’ve addressed it, I’ve spoken on it. I’ve said where the rights and wrongs were. I’ve said who I am now versus who I was then. I’ve done it, I’ve done it. I’m not going to continue to go back and tap into the days of old. I’ve moved on, I’m in a completely different space in my life. The same energy that went into finding those old tweets, could be the same energy put into finding the response to the questions that have been asked years after years after years. We feed internet trolls and reward them. I’m not going to do it, man. I’m going to be me, and I’m going to stand my ground. Regardless, to the Academy, I’m thankful and appreciative of the opportunity. If it goes away, no harm, no foul. Fast forward a short while later, likely aware that his career was likely at stake, Hart DID apologize. “I’m sorry that I hurt people,” he Tweeted. “I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.” Fair enough, we guess, right? It is worth noting, however, that one of Hart’s controversial so-called jokes said that, were his son to play with his daughter’s dollhouse, the star would “break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay.’ Ummm… LOL? But anyway. After claiming to be very sorry, Hart again took to Twitter and invoked Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy,” wrote Hart, quoting King. Don’t you just love it when someone compares a scandal of his own doing to the civil rights movement? Hart then thanked his supporters on Instagram Stories, as well, before taking the stage in Sydney. “Still selling tickets, 32,000 and counting,” he said. “I love you all.” Unless you’re gay, Hart meant to add. In a clip form his 2010 comedy special Seriously Funny, Hart says: “One of my biggest fears is my son growing up and being gay. That’s a fear. Keep in mind, I’m not homophobic. Be happy. Do what you want to do. “But me, as a heterosexual male, if I can prevent my son from being gay, I will.” Know that that is called, Kevin Hart? That’s called being homophobic.
On Thursday, Chris Harrison announced the contestants vying for Colton Underwood’s affections … and virginity. One of these women, Tracy Shapoff, is already causing a stir among the Bachelor Nation in the worst way. She has tweeted some alarming things. Some are awkward … but some of what she has said online is absolutely abhorrent. When Chris Harrison said that Tracy would make a “flashy first impression,” we don’t think that this is what he menat. He also mentioned that Tracy may “find herself the center of drama night one.” This, however, isn’t about Tracy’s behavior on the show. Instead, it’s about a series of old tweets of hers that have surfaced now that her name has been announced. In 2010, she tweeted: “Do ppl really think they’re finding love on reality tv…or am I just the idiot that watches it?” Obviously, that tweet isn’t harmful or problematic. It’s just a little awkward since Tracy herself has now found herself competing for love on reality television. At the time, she could not have known that she would one day end up on screen, indirectly referring to the Bachelor Nation as “idiots.” We wish that the rest of these tweets were as innocuous. They are not. Another has a much more hateful message. “Wow it’s really cool when you goto get in a cab and some fat prick w/ veneers flips out because he claims he hailed it first…ahole,” Tracy tweeted in 2011. That tweet, in which she seems to single out the alleged weight of a stranger for criticism, is only one example. It appears that Tracy has — or, at least, had — a real problem with anyone who mgiht be overweight or fat. This next tweet is so vile that we can’t even write out all of the words, and it also includes fat-shaming. “Liposuction is r—-ded…stop wasting your money and just get your fat ass to the gym,” she tweeted in 2010. Abhorrent. Let’s ignore her absolute cluelessness about genetic differences that allow one person to lose weight through exercise more easily than another. Regardless of someone’s reason for doing liposuction, that’s no one’s business but theirs and their doctor’s. And, obviously, no one should use slurs. She just hurled the r-slur, which probably means that she felt comfortable using it in her speech, too. In another tweet, she expressed outrage that two older and allegedly overweight women were enjoying themselves at the gym. “Wish these fat old women on the treadmill would shut the hell up,” she lamented in 2010. Her tweet concluded with a demand: “Stop dancing and just [work out].” Obviously, these are older tweets. They date back to 2010 and to 2011. Fat-shaming back then was not okay, even if the general cutlure was less aware of it. Using the r-slur was emphatically not okay either, and to be honest, we think that everyone knew that even then. If we were talking about Tracy committing assaults or violence, this would be the end of the discussion. But saying things — even terrible things — far in the past is not necessarily irredeemable. Tracy can absolutely apologize and show that she has grown as a person. After all, who among us isn’t at least a little wiser or kinder than we were in 2011? Some members of the Bachelor Nation have been quick to point out parallels between Tracy’s exposed tweets and another recent scandal. During Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette, Garrett Yrigoyen was exposed for “liking” a lot of vicious, dehumanizing political posts. These Instagram posts weren’t just partisan — no matter your political views, the posts he “liked” were deeply bigoted. Garrett apologized, but the posts that he had liked were only a few months old. In the mean time, Tracy’s date back the better part of a decade. Audiences may be much more willing to believe that Tracy has had a change of heart. Tragedy struck this weekend as Sarah Hyland lost her 14-year-old cousin in a car accident . Unfortunately, her sadness was compounded when a request to help her grieving relatives provoked a bitter backlash. Now, Sarah is sharing her distress and taking a break from social media. “You guys finally did it,” Sarah tweeted this week. A lot of people tweet hate in the hopes of ruining a vulnerable celebrity’s day. They must be patting themselves on the back right about now. “Your horrible negative ignorant words have broken me,” Sarah reveals. She asks: “Happy?” “Staying offline for a while,” Sarah announces. She does, possibly out of contractual obligations, have a planned exception to that step back. “I have a special announcement and video releasing on Wednesday I believe,” she writes. She is clearly dealing with a lot of strong, negative emotions. “So,” she concludes sadly. “There’s that.” Some people — perhaps some of the same haters responsible for the initial backlash — were less than sympathetic. “You only have yourself to blame for this backlash, unless there’s some massive detail we’re all missing,” snarled one reply. “Asking complete strangers to contribute to the funeral expenses of your own family member which you could easily pay for yourself is low-class and unconscionable,” the hater claimed. Others tempered their criticisms. “Not all of it is hate, some is genuine concern and condolences,” another wrote. “Some are questioning why you have to ask for help for such a tragic private family matter?” the tweet asked. “And yes, some is incredibly hateful,” they acknowledged. “Good luck with your life, live it well.” More fans rallied to support Sarah Hyland and to disparage her haters. “She shared the link that his family made to support the funeral,” pointed out a fan. “She more than likely has already helped the family out tremendously,” the tweet guesses. “Everyone commenting can stop being insensitive,” the fan continues. “And let her mourn the loss of her loved one.” The fan correctly points out: “Just because she has the money doesn’t mean they do.” “Don’t let these horrid monsters online break you,” another writes. “They aren’t worth it.” “But take some time to take care of yourself and your family,” the tweet concludes. “That’s what is important.” To simplify things, Sarah asked fans to consider donating to cover her young cousin’s funeral expenses. Some fans were outraged that a famous actress who is genuinely rich — and just got done vacationing in a private villa in the Virgin Islands — wants their money. They think that she should pay for it herself or shut the frick up, essentially. While it’s true that Sarah has an estimated net worth of about $9 million, we don’t know that much about her finances. Net worth is not the same thing as having a money bin like Scrooge McDuck. Net worth and liquid assets are not synonyms. We also don’t know the behind-the-scenes details of how she gets along with her family. Some people who acquire wealth have to set boundaries to stop their own families from milking them dry. Maybe Sarah’s had a problem like that in the past. And, as her defenders suggest, perhaps she has already contributed, or has promised to contribute to the funeral costs. Who knows? What we can say for certain is that there is an easy solution when you see someone ask for money and you don’t think that you should give them money. Just don’t give them money. But whatever you do, please do not direct hate and vitriol at someone who is mourning the death of a child in their family. The worst week of Aaron Carter’s life has concluded with him in the hospital. On Thursday night, the singer went off on a Tweet storm in response to the influx of body-shaming he’s unfortunately experienced of late. The artist jumped on his social media account following a concert in Syracuse that evening, during which he overheard fans making fun of his gaunt figure. (Carter opened up last month about his diagnosis of a hiatal hernia at the age of 19, saying the medical condition makes it difficult for him to eat.) “I’m entirely hurt by a so-called fan that I just encountered,” Carter wrote on Twitter, explaining in further detail: “She wasn’t realizing I was listening, she said I look like I have cancer. This is body shaming. You guys are bullying me. I’ve already addressed my medical issues.” The singer added the hashtag “#bodyshaming” to his message. Not long after sending this Tweet, Carter provided followers with an update of his condition – and his whereabouts. “Lots of shows lately, had to head up to ER just to get a little check up these shows are crazy lately gotta make sure I stay strong,” wrote Carter as a caption to the photo above. He added another image of himself in a wheelchair and added: “I’ll recover.” Just a few weeks ago, Carter’s dad passed away . This tragic event took place five years after his sister, Leslie Carter, died of a drug overdose at age 25. The star referenced these sad developments in a follow-up Tweet, writing: “I’ve literally had the hardest week of my life, my dad past [sic] away my late sisters birthday anniversary was June 6th & people #BodyShame me… “I promise I’ll work on getting bigger physically I have medical issues I don’t want to discuss at this time. #GodBless.” Carter’s diatribe continued throughout Thursday night and into most of Friday, as he re-Tweeted thoughts from supporters and shot back at others who questioned his weight. “I’m sorry I’m not fat enough. For my fake fans,” he said. “I’m sorry I’m not good enough or heavy enough to be attractive… I’m bullied and body shamed by the world… They literally won’t stop bullying me… “They won’t leave me alone. I’m getting hate messages and death threats.” Continued the angry and upset singer: “Been in the hospital three times this month, dealing with health issues and broken fingers as well as things I can’t legally discuss. “Do I have to do a spinal tap to prove to people? They’re trolling me and causing me so much insecurities.” View Slideshow: 29 Stars Who Shamed Their Body-Shamers At times, Carter did appear hopeful. He tried to remain upbeat. “I’m not ashamed of my body,” he wrote on Instagram. “Maybe I’m too skinny, maybe I’m too short but the one thing I know is I love my fans my family my girlfriend and my friends. I’m #NotPerfect you never know what someone is going through. “We are not immortal. #embracelove… “All I can do is my best in my life with the conditions I have I need to stay strong, I’m so grateful for my fans, YOU mean the world to me. “Progress is better than perfection. It’s OK to be on a self-love journey, so don’t beat yourself up if u have yet to reach your destination.” Finally, on Friday, Carter shared the following picture: “My appetite is coming back,” he wrote. “#StayingPositive.” We’re glad to hear it! Hang in there, Aaron. Ignore the haters, man.
