Jana Kramer DESTROYS Trolls Who Shamed Her Post-Baby Body

At the end of November, actress Jana Kramer welcomed her rainbow baby — her first child following a miscarriage. The mother of two shared a photo of herself in form-fitting clothing, and trolls piled on with hate and body-shaming. Now, Jana is replying with some tough words of her own. “A few things,” Jana writes on Instagram. “Because honestly I’m so frustrated and I need to vent this.” She attached her caption to a cropped mirror selfie of her and her post-baby body, an image that you are about to see. “I wanted to post this photo (showing my stomach),” she says. “Because I wanted to show my journey back to healthy.” “And my goodness,” she continues. “I’m so glad I didn’t which is why this photo is now cropped,” “It’s amazing the comments,” she marvels. “And how rude some people be.” “No I didn’t get a tummy tuck, no I don’t have a personal chef, no I don’t have fortunes so I didn’t train everyday,” she says. She correctly points out that a lot of the standard ways that people lose weight rapidly come through wealth. However, some are blessed with genetics that make them ‘bounce back” from pregnancy a little faster than others. “Yes I had a c section,” she affirms. “Yes I am still in pain and on meds but I do have a high pain tolerance.” “I have had 3 stomach surgeries before this (appendix, gallbladder, and c section),” she notes. “In that photo,” she says. “I had on a belly bandit wrapped tightly, and high waisted pants.” “And wow,” she says. “Here I am defending myself. Why?!!” Jana writes that if she had “posted the photo of my actual stomach in this photo I would have probably been shamed too.” Sadly, she is absolutely right. People are vile. “Why do we women have to compare ourselves to each other and then shame?” she openly wonders. “Our bodies are all beautiful and created differently, they heal different, they react different,” she notes. Jana continues, writing: “they simply look different.” They sure do. “Why do we need to shame someone for not looking a certain way?” she asks. The answer is complicated, but part of the answer comes down to how women are socialized to be filled with undeserved self-loathing. Another important part is that the illusion of anonymity and the ability to instantly reply emboldens some humans to be cruel online. “Or,” Jana continues. “Feel bad about ourselves for looking a certain way?” “Can we be kinder to ourselves,” she asks. “And know that every woman has a different journey but yet we are all beautiful?” “Can we lift someone up,” Jana asks. “But not tear yourself down in the process with comparing?” It is absolutely possible! “Let’s give that a try,” Jana suggests. “I love y’all,” she concludes, adding that she is going to get “back to my baby.” It sounds like she has the right priorities. Jana welcomed her rainbow baby, Jace, into the world on November 29. “Jace. My sweet baby boy,” she wrote at the time. “When I found out Jace meant ‘healing’ I knew right then that was his name.” It’s a great name, especially if you hope that your child will grow up to be a love interest in a Young Adult novel. “He has been every bit of healing since I found out we were being blessed with another baby,” she gushed. “I love you so much baby boy.” “Welcome to the world Jace Joseph Caussin,” she said. “Our hearts are so full.” She concluded: “Thank you to all our friends and family and all of you who have supported Mike and I and our growing family.” View Slideshow: 29 Stars Who Shamed Their Body-Shamers

Ariel Winter Goes OFF on Instagram: I Don’t Show My Ass on Purpose!

By now, you’re probably aware that Ariel Winter’s Instagram is more popular within the key demographic than her lumbering dinosaur of a sitcom. The actress’ racy selfies have made her a favorite on social media and in the tabloids, but there are downsides to being popular in those crowds. Ever post something, feel a little too exposed, and immediately regret it? Imagine that times several million and you start to get an idea of Ariel’s plight. While we’re sure she’d be the first to admit that she courts and enjoys the attention, Ariel understandably gets frustrated when the comments and media coverage go too far.  And now, she’s clapping back with a lengthy rant against the press, the toxic environment on social media, and the perception that she’s using risque clothing to boost her career. “Something I wish people would realize…I am not TRYING to be featured on Snapchat,” Winter’s rant begins. “I am not trying to be pap’d everywhere I do, I am literally just LIVING and unfortunately, I can’t do that without paparazzi following me around everyday,” she adds. “I’m not trying to show you my ass in shorts when I go to the grocery store. I’m trying to live my life. People wear shorts. People have wardrobe malfunctions. No one is perfect.” Winter went on to address the criticism she’s faced for dressing “inappropriately” for certain events, such as when she attended the premiere of a children’s movie in a see-through dress . “I’m not a stylist! I don’t know what to wear everyday so I look ‘appropriate’ or ‘fashionable.’ Also, screw having to always look appropriate or fashionable,” she wrote. “For what? Society? Who gets to decide what is appropriate or fashionable???? I wear what I like and no one should fault me for that. I don’t want people to constantly see me in the news for going to dinner, or grocery shopping, or anything,” she continued. “I want to be in the news when I ASK for it by going to a publicized event, or EVEN BETTER when I have work out/coming out! So trust me, I don’t want to see me in shorts putting water in my car every single d—n day as much as you don’t.” The common rebuttal there will likely be that Ariel could easily afford a stylist, and if she’s so bothered by criticisms of her attire, it might be a worthwhile investment. That said, we see her point, and she certainly shouldn’t feel obligated to hire a personal shopper. From there, Ariel delves into an even more serious topic: her troubled childhood , and the ways in she feels she was sexualized as an adolescent. “I’d also like to address the tweets I get saying ‘you accused your mother of sexualizing you yet you’re a whore.’ I was a CHILD being dressed like I was 24. I was 8-13 years old,” the actress writes. “I wasn’t an ADULT as I am now. As you mature at 16, 17, 18 you further develop your own identity and can make decisions for yourself. As a child, you do as you’re told regardless of what is good for you.” “I’m an ADULT now, who can make my own choices and have my own identity. And just because I DECIDE to show my body occasionally doesn’t mean I’m unintelligent or that I’m talentless or that I have no self respect,” she adds. The entire piece is worth reading, and Ariel addresses a number of important topics. It’s impossible to tell at this point where her career might be headed, but it’s good to know that Ariel is aware of the various pitfalls of fame, even if–like just about every other celebrity–she’s not entirely sure how to avoid them. We feel confident that she’ll eventually find a way to navigate this tricky industry. She seems well on her way. View Slideshow: Ariel Winter: The Hottest Pics of an Internet Legend in the Making

Jenna Dewan Tatum: Mom-Shamed For Showing … Okay, This is Ridiculous

If you listen to enough internet commenters who concern-troll celebrities, mothers shouldn’t eat anything (but also shouldn’t be “too thin”) and also should always look their best without ever looking “too good.” This time, the celebrity getting unfairly slammed is none other than the beautiful and talented Jenna Dewan Tatum. Her “crime” this time? Showing her butt. Jenna Dewan Tatum is an actress, an exceptional dancer, and yes, she’s also a mom. And guess what: she has a butt. Barring an extremely rare birth defect or a horrifying injury, just about all humans have butts. (Yes, even your friend who laments that they “don’t even have an ass.”) Her husband  Channing Tatum’s bragged about her naked body before, so it can’t really be that surprising. But when Jenna posted this photo to her Instagram, mom-shamers swarmed the comments to give her a hard time. She looks so great! Like, of course she does. But still. Okay, done admiring her spectacular glutes? Then we can move on. So, this was part of Jenna Dewan Tatum’s “cheeky balcony” photo series on Instagram. So far, there are just the two pictures in the series. We hope that the hateful responses haven’t discouraged Jenna from continuing with it. Firstly, because no one should be discouraged from doing what’s fun or enjoyable for them because of other people’s hate. But also just because she looks amazing and every photo of her is just a blessing. These are classy, beautiful photographs of a talented and gorgeous woman. So, naturally, the mom-shamers swooped in. Apparently, you’re not allowed to have a body anymore after you have a child. Negative comment after negative comment said just about the same thing. What varied was the level of direct rudeness. “You have a kid . . . Shame on you.” That one sounds like Jenna’s being shamed for being a mother, period. “She’s a mother and married. Smh, disappointed at Jenna.” Oh boy, that one’s mom-shaming and wife-shaming. A real twofer. (Not that it would matter if he did, but Channing Tatum clearly doesn’t mind … and there’s a more-than-decent chance that he took the photo himself) “Of course she is hot but poor Everly. What signals is she sending to her young daughter? Mummy’s bum is all over the net haha. Lead by example.” Thanks, consummately British mom-shamer. ( Mum -shamer?) She’s not texting her butt to her 4-year-old daughter. Everly won’t be old enough to sign up for any social media for another 9 years. And by that point, if not already, Everly will be mature enough to accept the fact that her mother has a butt. (Unlike these commenters) “Beautiful, but you are a mother. Be a role model for your daughter.” Being confident in her beautiful body and showing exactly as much of it as she likes is a great way to role model for her daughter. (This, by the way, was a photo that Channing Tatum had previously shared.) Jenna Dewan didn’t reply directly. Too many celebrities get bogged down trying to respond to trolls. This gives them exactly what they want, more often than not. Instead, Jenna just shared some words of wisdom that seemed to be aimed at the trolls. “You can tell who the strong women are. They are the ones you see building up one another instead of letting each other down.” That’s not exactly a subtweet … but it’s something . Jenna Dewan Tatum is a delight. We’re glad that she has a husband who’s worthy of her. View Slideshow: 29 Stars Who Shamed Their Body-Shamers

Aaron Carter Attacks Body Shamers, Ends Up in Hospital

The worst week of Aaron Carter’s life has concluded with him in the hospital. On Thursday night, the singer went off on a Tweet storm in response to the influx of body-shaming he’s unfortunately experienced of late. The artist jumped on his social media account following a concert in Syracuse that evening, during which he overheard fans making fun of his gaunt figure. (Carter opened up last month about his diagnosis of a hiatal hernia at the age of 19, saying the medical condition makes it difficult for him to eat.) “I’m entirely hurt by a so-called fan that I just encountered,” Carter wrote on Twitter, explaining in further detail: “She wasn’t realizing I was listening, she said I look like I have cancer. This is body shaming. You guys are bullying me. I’ve already addressed my medical issues.” The singer added the hashtag “#bodyshaming” to his message. Not long after sending this Tweet, Carter provided followers with an update of his condition – and his whereabouts. “Lots of shows lately, had to head up to ER just to get a little check up these shows are crazy lately gotta make sure I stay strong,” wrote Carter as a caption to the photo above. He added another image of himself in a wheelchair and added: “I’ll recover.” Just a few weeks ago, Carter’s dad passed away . This tragic event took place five years after his sister, Leslie Carter, died of a drug overdose at age 25. The star referenced these sad developments in a follow-up Tweet, writing: “I’ve literally had the hardest week of my life, my dad past [sic] away my late sisters birthday anniversary was June 6th & people #BodyShame me… “I promise I’ll work on getting bigger physically I have medical issues I don’t want to discuss at this time. #GodBless.” Carter’s diatribe continued throughout Thursday night and into most of Friday, as he re-Tweeted thoughts from supporters and shot back at others who questioned his weight. “I’m sorry I’m not fat enough. For my fake fans,” he said. “I’m sorry I’m not good enough or heavy enough to be attractive… I’m bullied and body shamed by the world… They literally won’t stop bullying me… “They won’t leave me alone. I’m getting hate messages and death threats.” Continued the angry and upset singer: “Been in the hospital three times this month, dealing with health issues and broken fingers as well as things I can’t legally discuss. “Do I have to do a spinal tap to prove to people? They’re trolling me and causing me so much insecurities.” View Slideshow: 29 Stars Who Shamed Their Body-Shamers At times, Carter did appear hopeful. He tried to remain upbeat. “I’m not ashamed of my body,” he wrote on Instagram. “Maybe I’m too skinny, maybe I’m too short but the one thing I know is I love my fans my family my girlfriend and my friends. I’m #NotPerfect you never know what someone is going through. “We are not immortal. #embracelove… “All I can do is my best in my life with the conditions I have I need to stay strong, I’m so grateful for my fans, YOU mean the world to me. “Progress is better than perfection. It’s OK to be on a self-love journey, so don’t beat yourself up if u have yet to reach your destination.” Finally, on Friday, Carter shared the following picture: “My appetite is coming back,” he wrote. “#StayingPositive.” We’re glad to hear it! Hang in there, Aaron. Ignore the haters, man.

Plus-Size Woman Fights Back After Getting Hate Mail for Wearing Leggings

Hey, were you feeling like maybe you wanted to lose a little bit of faith in humanity today? If you even have any faith left, well, then gather round. We’ll kill off that last little bit for you. Because, see, there’s this woman named Kelley Markland. Kelley is a mother, she sells Scentsy products, and she also enjoys a good pair of leggings. She’s fierce as hell, right? She’s rocking those leggings, and she looks amazing. But unfortunately, one sad, sorry soul doesn’t take too kindly to people like Kelley wearing leggings. And that person felt so strongly about it, that she actually sent Kelley a letter. A physical letter. Like, with an envelope and a stamp and everything. Here’s the thoughtful letter this woman received: And if that didn’t get the message across, don’t worry! This anonymous loser also decided to add an Anchorman meme to really clarify things: OK, so let’s break this down. Somebody, a human being alive in this world, saw Kelley in her leggings and hated it so much that they went through the trouble of grabbing some paper and a pen and writing down her grievances. She then looked up a meme, printed it out, put the meme in an envelope with the letter, addressed the letter, slapped a stamp on, then put it in a mailbox. This person did all that, and there was not one single time that she thought “huh, maybe this is the most ridiculous thing that ever happened.” These are dark and troubling times we’re living in right now. Can we blame Trump? Let’s just go ahead and blame Trump . Kelley shared that hateful letter on Facebook, and the message she wrote along with it is just so heartbreaking. “Anyone who knows me,” she wrote, “knows that I care deeper and stronger than many. I am a sensitive woman and I despise cruelty towards others.” “I have never pretended to be pretty or look good in clothing. I have never tried to be flashy or show off. Wearing my ‘fun’ leggings gave me a tad bit of confidence in not looking sloppy all the time.” “I’m sorry that some of you may not like it, but I’m not dressing for you. All the hate in this world, and you have to pick on me for this?!” “Thank you for making me feel like absolute, complete sh-t … so unbelievably disappointed in people anymore.” Aww, Kelley, girl, no! You are pretty, and you do look good in clothing! Be flashy, show off! Get it! And it seems like a lot of other people wanted to encourage Kelley too — she works as a substitute teacher, and after she shared that Facebook post, many of her coworkers used the magic of leggings to show their support. “All the teachers were coming up and hugging me and showing me their leggings,” Kelley said in an interview . “So I knew at that point, it’s not about me anymore, it’s about all women.” She explained that “The letter killed me inside and I still get upset by it, but at the same time I have gained immense strength.” This is such a sad story — seriously, think about how pitiful the person who sent the letter must be — but it’s so good to hear that this woman was able to turn the situation around. People can wear whatever they want to wear , no matter their size or whether or not other people find it attractive. It’s 2016. Do we honestly still need to learn that very simple lesson? Lady Gaga: New Album Name & Release Date Announced

Lady Gaga dropped her new song, “Perfect Illusion” just last week and it got her fans clamoring for more of the pop sensation.  As is the case with most artists, the album reveal comes slightly after the lead single’s release.  Gaga has now revealed that her new album will be titled “Joanne.” It will be a nod to her late aunt, Joanne Germanotta , who died of Lupus in 1974, at the age of 19.  “She is the woman of my past,” Gaga revealed in an interview with Zayn Lowe on Beats 1.  We must admit, this is a fantastic way to honor her aunt.  Her family also has an Italian restaurant in New York’s Upper West Side that also serves as a nod to Joanne.  It is named Joanne Trattoria.  Lady Gaga: “Perfect Illusion” Gaga took to Instagram to reveal the album artwork and release date.  The album will drop on October 21, so mark your calendars.  She worked very closely with Mark Ronson on the album, so you know its going to be a good one.  Has he ever released any bad music? He’s a lyrical genius and pairing up with Gaga can only mean good things for her career.  Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney recently called off their relationship and some fans were quick to wonder whether her latest single was about Kinney .  It would make a lot of sense, but she was quick to shut these rumors down and made it clear that the song was not a hit out at her ex.  She also maintained that they are good friends.  Gaga has been super busy recently.  She also has a starring role on American Horror Story.  The most recent season was shrouded in secrecy as FX did not want to reveal any plot details about the new iteration of the smash hit series.  Usually FX reveals months in advance what the theme will be, but they opted to keep quiet this time round.  The curiosity factor did not result in increased ratings for the series.   It premiered slightly lower than last year’s edition.  Viewers did not get to see who Lady Gaga is playing this season on the show.  View Slideshow: 2016 MET Gala: All The Red Carpet Looks! Kelly Clarkson Looks Back on American Idol: It Was Amazing!

Kelly Clarkson has had a wonderful career that has spanned over fourteen years.  Clarkson won the first season of American Idol back in 2002. It’s crazy to think that she’s still as relevant as today as she was back then.  Her career has continued to flourish, but Idol did not.  The singing competition finally concluded earlier this year after 15 seasons. That’s a great run for any series.  You’d think singing competitions would be a bit long in the tooth by now, but NBC continues to find success with two cycles of The Voice every year.  Granted, there always seems to be some sort of rift with the judges on the show, but it drums up good ratings.  Clarkson has enjoyed a lot of success throughout her career. She’s the first artist from the show to achieve 100 Billboard number 1 hit singles.  Yes, that means the star has topped the chart at least 100 times.  That’s not an easy task for anyone, so she deserves a lot of recognition for that.  That said, Kelly is not about to forget where she came from. She knows American Idol gave her the career she has today.  Joining singing competitions was the best way to get noticed in 2002. There was no Youtube for artists to go viral back in those days.  Kelly took to Twitter to express her gratitude to the once hot Fox series.  Kelly Clarkson Brings Everyone to Tears on American Idol “14 yrs ago 2day @AmericanIdol opened a door w/such amazing opportunities & experiences 4 me!” the 34-year-old singer wrote on Twitter on Sunday, September 4. “I am 4ever grateful & blessed! #heresto14more.” There’s every reason to believe that Clarkson will still be topping the charts in fourteen years. She really does have staying power and it’s not often an artist can continue to top the charts after all this time.  Kelly recently signed a major record deal with Atlantic Records, so at least we know she’ll continue to release great music.  View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Welcomed Babies in 2016 She also welcomed a son in April of this year, but she will be back with new music very soon.  It just goes to show that even though the final few seasons of American Idol were terrible, the show still served a huge purpose.  It gave the likes of Kelly Clarkson a start in an industry that’s very difficult to become a star in.  Clarkson even appeared on the final season of the Fox hit, but apparently Carrie Underwood was not impressed .  Underwood was given a smaller segment than Clarkson.  This peeved Underwood because she knows she is the bigger money maker of the two.  What do you think of all of this? Dani Mathers: Facing Charges For Body-Shaming Gym Pic?

Back in July, former Playmate of the Year Dani Mathers thought it would be funny to take a Snapchat of a naked woman at her LA Fitness gym, and share it. The caption, which read “If I can’t unsee this then you can’t either,” shamed the fellow gym patron and set off a firestorm that saw Mathers not only banned from a ll LA Fitness locations, but fired from her gig on KLOS’s Heidi & Frank morning show. “Her behavior is appalling and puts every member at risk of losing their privacy,” LA Fitness EVP of operations Jill Greuling told the Los Angeles Times. “Our written rules are very clear: Cellphone usage and photography are prohibited in the locker rooms.” Now, TMZ has learned that the LAPD has located the victim in the photo – described as a woman in her 70’s – who is ready to fully cooperate with the case, which includes testify against Mathers. The charge, if issued, is Dissemination of Private Images, which is reportedly a misdemeanor which could carry a 6-month jail sentence. LAPD officers want to make an example of Mathers, whom they believe tried to shame someone who was trying to better herself. As for Mathers, who was named Playboy’s Playmate of the Year in 2015, she issued an apology on Snapchat soon after the incident. “I just want to acknowledge a photo that I accidentally posted. It was absolutely wrong and not what I meant to do,” the 29-year-old said in the video. “I chose to do what I do for a living because I love the female body and I know body shaming is wrong, that’s not what I’m about and this is not the type of person I am. “The photo was taken as part of a personal conversation with a girlfriend and because I am new to Snapchat I didn’t realize I had posted it, and that was a huge mistake. “I know I have upset a lot of people out there but please believe me this is not the type of person that I am. “I have never done this before and I will never do this again, you have my word.” Users on social media didn’t believe Mathers apology, accusing her of only being sorry because she got caught.   Even former Girls Next Door star, Kendra Wilkinson told TMZ that Mathers’ decision was a “stupid f–king choice,” and refused to even defend the Playmate. “That’s a huge mistake. No one should be taking pictures of anybody who they don’t know,” Wilkinson said. “And if it’s in the privacy of a gym … That’s why I don’t change at a gym, because I get scared of that.” Mathers thought issuing yet another mea culpa (in addition to her Snapchat video) would somehow win her a few points. “I’m sorry for what I did,” she wrote on Twitter.  “I need to take some time to myself now to reflect on why I did this horrible thing. Goodnight.” View Slideshow: 27 Stars Who Shamed Their Body-Shamers

Leah Messer Fights Back: I Am More Than Just A "Bikini Body!"

It all started with a photo. Leah Messer didn’t think anything of sharing an Instagram of herself hanging poolside with family.   Fans didn’t like the look of Messer’s slim figure , and some even speculated that she had a drug problem. Messer was fed up with comments about her body, so she decided to take action. “First and foremost, there is much more to women than our bodies,” Messer said in a statement to Refinery29 . “Yet many women seem to continually judge others, not by their character, but by their bodies. “There are many more important issues going on in the world today than whether or not I had enough to eat for breakfast . (Side note: I had plenty.) “We should be focused on spreading love and kindness instead of mean-spirited bullying. Thankfully I am in a beautiful place in my life raising three wonderful, kind, loving and confident little girls. View Slideshow: 27 Stars Who Shamed Their Body-Shamers “The last thing I would want for them is to feel that they, too, could be ridiculed for their bodies.  So let’s stop with the shaming, start supporting one another, and focus on what really matters.” This is the first time Messer has issued a statement about criticism about her life (and there has been plenty ). After releasing that statement, it was obvious that Messer felt a weight lifted off her shoulders. “Looking back I’m sooo proud of the woman god is creating me into!(: #Happy #Healthy #Me&MyGirls,” she Instagramed yesterday. Today, Messer took back control of her body by posting a bikini selfie. “Lunchhh was delicious, and now it’s time to get back in the pool w/ my baby! Of course we miss sissys!
