Oliver Jordan, 21, posted his hospital bill on his Twitter account and the tweet has since gone viral. The full page of medical expenses totaled up to him owing the hospital $93,000 for attempting to take his own life. Although the Health Care Cost Institute reported from data collected since 2016 that the average cost of such a visit will run the patient $1,917, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health noted that many hospitals mark up this baseline cost by more than 1,000 percent in similar instances.
In December of 2017, the adult film world was shocked by the suicide of August Ames , an up-and-coming 23-year-old performer who had recently taken the industry by storm. Ames’ death came on the heels of an ugly social media confrontation prompted by some controversial comments she made about a fellow performer. “Whichever (lady) performer is replacing me tomorrow for @EroticaXNews, you’re shooting with a guy who has shot gay porn, just to let cha know,” Ames tweeted just two days before her passing. “BS is all I can say… Do agents really not care about who they’re representing?… I do my homework for my body.” The tweet prompted immediate backlash from both fans and fellow performers, many of whom accused Ames of homophobia. Ames — who was herself bisexual — quickly clarified her position, tweeting: “NOT homophobic. Most girls don’t shoot with guys who have shot gay porn, for safety. That’s just how it is with me. I’m not putting my body at risk, i don’t know what they do in their private lives.” The charge to denigrate Ames was led by fellow adult performers Jaxton Wheeler and Jessica Drake, who recently claimed she was harassed by Donald Trump . “Performers, by all means, f–k who you want to f–k…but if you’re eliminating folks based on the fact they they (sic) may have done gay or crossover work, your logic is seriously flawed,” Drake tweeted. “Reality is, WE DON’T KNOW who does what with whom when there are no cameras.” Within hours of Drake’s tweet, Ames was found dead in a public park roughly 20 minutes from her home. Her death was ruled a suicide by hanging. At the Adult Video News Awards six weeks later, Ames’ widower, Kevin Moore, was greeted with thunderous applause when he took the stage to defend the right of all performers to work with whomever they choose. Drake was in the audience as fans wearing t-shirts honoring Ames gave Moore a standing ovation. The narrative that formed around Ames’ death was quick and convenient — PC hysteria had led to rampant cyberbullying, which resulted in Ames’ decision to take her own life. Now, however, in a new podcast entitled the Last Days of August , author Jon Ronson argues that the situation is far more complex than originally thought. Throughout her life, Ames was open about her traumatic childhood and her struggles with mental illness. Ronson says her short time in the adult film industry shattered Ames’ psyche, a theory he formed after viewing the final scene that she filmed, which has never been released to the public. “When you think about it, what we were watching in that moment was the moment that she decided to die. That’s what we were watching and it’s awful,” Ronson recently told the New York Post . “That was the truth of it, that was the moment when she reached the point of no return. The Twitter bullying may have been the icing on the cake, as some people described it.” Ronson says the scene very clearly took Ames outside of her comfort zone as she was brutalized by a domineering Russian porn star named Markus Dupree. “On more than one occasion in the footage, Markus forcefully repositions August, which visibly startles her,” Ronson’s co-host, Jessica Misitzis, says in the podcast. “She says ‘Whoa s–t!’ and at one point Markus picks up her pink thong, stretches it around her head, jerks her around by it, and then shoves it in her mouth. “At the end of her scene, August is interviewed by a crew member to establish consent for legal purposes. She’s staring straight into the camera, holding up her check for the day’s work, her makeup’s gone and her hair is pulled back, she looks resigned and emotional and hollow all at once,” Mitzis adds. “‘Were you treated OK?’ she’s asked. And flatly, and quietly she says, ‘Yes.’ For the first time in this footage, all the camera is focused on is August’s face and she seems like she’s verging on tears.” In text messages viewed by Ronson and Mitzis, Ames complains to a friend that Dupree went “full on War Machine,” a reference to the adult perfomer who assaulted Christy Mack in 2014. Six weeks after filming that scene, Ames took her own life. The Last Days of August is currently available on Audible.
SNL star Pete Davidson has always been candid about his struggles with mental illness and substance abuse. And in recent weeks, the comic’s updates about his health have led to serious concern among Pete’s fans, friends, and family. Davidson appeared to threaten suicide in a social media post on Friday. “i really don’t want to be on this earth anymore,” Davidson wrote on Instagram. “i’m doing my best to stay here for you but i actually don’t know how much longer i can last. all i’ve ever tried to do was help people. just remember i told you so.” Obviously, Pete’s message is deeply concerning. Fortunately, many have rallied to the 25-year-old’s support. Back in October, Ariana Grande broke off her engagement with Pete, but she’s obviously still concerned about her ex’s well-being. “I’m downstairs and I’m not going anywhere if you need anyone or anything,” she wrote in response to Davidson’s cry for help. “I know u have everyone u need and that’s not me, but i’m here too.” Davidson apparently had no interest in accepting Grande’s support. “Pete didn’t want to see Ariana,” a source tells People magazine. “As of Sunday, Ariana had not been able to reach Pete. He is ignoring her.” “Ariana and Pete haven’t really been in contact since the split, but this doesn’t mean that she doesn’t care about him,” the insider explains. “She was frantic after she saw his Instagram message. She feels terrible that he isn’t feeling well.” Prior to her relationship with Davidson, Ariana dated rapper Mac Miller , who died of an overdose at the age of 26 this past September. “Ariana is still traumatized by Mac Miller’s death,” the source says. “She doesn’t want anything to happen to Pete too.” Fortunately, Davidson is receiving plenty of support from his colleagues at SNL. “The decision was taken to give Pete a break on Saturday night – his sketches were dropped before the early evening rehearsals,” a production insider tells Page Six. The show is currently on hiatus from until after the holidays, and Davidson is being encouraged to use that time to seek treatment. Davidson checked into rehab last year while struggling with borderline personality disorder, and SNL creator Lorne Michaels is reportedly imploring him to continue treatment: “Lorne has pledged to help all he can, including sending Pete to get help. “Everyone on the cast is hugely protective of him and were obviously upset — particularly Colin Jost and Michael Che on Weekend Update .” We wish Pete all the best in his continued recovery. At the end of November, actress Jana Kramer welcomed her rainbow baby — her first child following a miscarriage. The mother of two shared a photo of herself in form-fitting clothing, and trolls piled on with hate and body-shaming. Now, Jana is replying with some tough words of her own. “A few things,” Jana writes on Instagram. “Because honestly I’m so frustrated and I need to vent this.” She attached her caption to a cropped mirror selfie of her and her post-baby body, an image that you are about to see. “I wanted to post this photo (showing my stomach),” she says. “Because I wanted to show my journey back to healthy.” “And my goodness,” she continues. “I’m so glad I didn’t which is why this photo is now cropped,” “It’s amazing the comments,” she marvels. “And how rude some people be.” “No I didn’t get a tummy tuck, no I don’t have a personal chef, no I don’t have fortunes so I didn’t train everyday,” she says. She correctly points out that a lot of the standard ways that people lose weight rapidly come through wealth. However, some are blessed with genetics that make them ‘bounce back” from pregnancy a little faster than others. “Yes I had a c section,” she affirms. “Yes I am still in pain and on meds but I do have a high pain tolerance.” “I have had 3 stomach surgeries before this (appendix, gallbladder, and c section),” she notes. “In that photo,” she says. “I had on a belly bandit wrapped tightly, and high waisted pants.” “And wow,” she says. “Here I am defending myself. Why?!!” Jana writes that if she had “posted the photo of my actual stomach in this photo I would have probably been shamed too.” Sadly, she is absolutely right. People are vile. “Why do we women have to compare ourselves to each other and then shame?” she openly wonders. “Our bodies are all beautiful and created differently, they heal different, they react different,” she notes. Jana continues, writing: “they simply look different.” They sure do. “Why do we need to shame someone for not looking a certain way?” she asks. The answer is complicated, but part of the answer comes down to how women are socialized to be filled with undeserved self-loathing. Another important part is that the illusion of anonymity and the ability to instantly reply emboldens some humans to be cruel online. “Or,” Jana continues. “Feel bad about ourselves for looking a certain way?” “Can we be kinder to ourselves,” she asks. “And know that every woman has a different journey but yet we are all beautiful?” “Can we lift someone up,” Jana asks. “But not tear yourself down in the process with comparing?” It is absolutely possible! “Let’s give that a try,” Jana suggests. “I love y’all,” she concludes, adding that she is going to get “back to my baby.” It sounds like she has the right priorities. Jana welcomed her rainbow baby, Jace, into the world on November 29. “Jace. Sarah Hyland stars on one of the most awarded and recognized sitcom in television history. But there’s nothing funny about the details of her personal life over the past couple years. The actress has talked broadly in the past about the physical ailments that have caused her to lose so much weight, clapping back often against trolls who have accused her of being anorexic . However, Hyland gets into more specifics than ever before in the latest issue of SELF. For starters: Hyland has undergone not one but two kidney transplants. Moreover, within the last year alone, the 28-year old has continued to suffer from endometritis and an abdominal hernia, requiring a pair of surgeries back to back. Including these procedures, Hyland has gone under the knife about 16 times in her life. That’s just crazy and awful to contemplate. In 2012, she received a kidney from her father, needing it due to a life-long battle with kidney dysplasia and resulting kidney failure. However, as revealed here for the first time, Hyland’s body started to reject this new kidney in October of 2016. She experienced fatigue, infections and extreme fevers as a result. “We did all of these tests and all of these treatments to try and save the kidney,” Hyland tells the magazine. “Christmas break, New Year’s, Thanksgiving, my birthday, all of that spent in the hospital.” Then, on Valentine’s Day in 2017, she had a port implanted into her chest and went on dialysis for the first time. This is what caused the aforementioned weight loss, along with sciatica, fluid retention and vision damage. Through ALL of this, Hyland continued to work. She even chose a dialysis center nearest the Modern Family set, something that she says allowed her to keep a modicum of independence. “That’s why I’m so independent,” she says. “In some areas of my life, I literally have no choice but to be dependent. I’ve been going through this for 28 years, and I still am learning how to let go of control and how to be patient.” Finally, in May of 2017, Sarah’s brother, Ian, donated his kidney. This incredible gesture saved her life… … but the fallout from the first failure really stuck with her. “When a family member gives you a second chance at life, and it fails, it almost feels like it’s your fault. It’s not. But it does,” she told the magazine, adding: “For a long time, I was contemplating suicide, because I didn’t want to fail my little brother like I failed my dad.” Hyland says she has spend nearly her whole life “always being a burden… always having to be looked after, having to be cared for.” But Sarah and Ian remain well after the transplant, yet the actress is still battling endometriosis and unknowingly had an abdominal hernia. Her cousin was also recently killed by a drunk driver and Hyland asked fans to donate to a GoFundMe page in order to help with funeral expenses. She was slammed so hard for this request that Hyland has left social media . Through everything, however, boyfriend Wells Adams has remained by her side (“He’s seen me at my worst. I think that’s why I feel the most beautiful in his eyes…”) and she still has a positive outlook moving forward. “I’m stable. I’m thriving. I’m super happy with life,” Hyland concludes.

The Rock & Roll legend has been understandably mum on the matter, until now. She told BBC News , “I still don’t know what took him to the edge because at that stage he had said to me that he had never met a woman that he felt that way about. He was bringing her to meet me [for] his birthday in August. He had decorated his apartment that I bought him years ago. He had gotten a new job with a prominent real estate company in California, [which] he was very happy with.” The eight-time Grammy winner continued on, adding that she thinks loneliness played a part in Craig’s decision to end his life. “I think it was something with being alone. But when I think that, why didn’t he call the new girlfriend that give him the lift? He was an introverted person. He was very shy, so I didn’t know either, except now when I listen back to our last conversations, I notice a change. The last few times we talked, the conversations were different, and I didn’t know that until after the suicide.” Miss Tina may be heartbreaking over losing her eldest child, but she insists that she won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. And when it’s her time to go, it won’t be a problem because, “I really don’t mind leaving,” she said. Our thoughts are still with Tina and her family during this time.

Olmos allegedly had known the victim for a couple of months and they spoke everyday. Some of the messages were recovered by a team, but now Olmos is going to be charged with felony obstruction as well as misdemeanor computer trespass. Beloved radio host Delilah is speaking out about the loss of her son, Zachariah, who tragically took his own life earlier this month. Delilah says her “heart is struggling to continue to beat” after the death of her child, who succumbed to a battle with depression. The 57-year-old posted a number of childhood photos of her late son, along with a poem by Mary Jean Irion, in his memory. She writes, “Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart.” “Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so.” “One day I shall dig my nails into the earth,” she adds. “Or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return.” “There will not be another ‘normal day’ with my Zack-Attack, at least not in this life time,” Delilah wrote in her emotional post. “No more cooking his favorite foods or bringing home gallons of his favorite juice, no more laughter around the bonfire or Christmas mornings.” “My heart is struggling to continue to beat.” “Thank you for your prayers, love and support. Please pray for his grandparents, his siblings, his dad and his friends,” she added. “We are all doing our best to focus on his joyful heart, his wild free spirit and his smile,” she concluded, still reeling from the pain. Fans first learned of Delilah’s son’s suicide after she shared the sad news with her friends and fans on Facebook on October 7. She wrote that he was “being treated, counseled, and embraced fiercely by family and friends while battling depression for some time now.” My heart is broken beyond repair and I can not fathom how to go on… but I have to believe he is at peace with the Lord.” She hopes “that God will get us through.” Delilah revealed that Zachariah left a suicide note behind, though she did not reveal its specific contents for obvious reasons. The “Queen of Sappy Love Songs” also announced that she would be taking some time away from work in light of all this. “I will be absent from the radio and on social media for a time as I grieve and try to process this loss with my family,” she said. “Please pray for my beloved Zacky, and I will pray for all suffering from this debilitating disease called depression.” Delilah’s radio show, simply known as Delilah , based in the Pacific Northwest, regularly reaches more than eight million listeners. It’s unclear when that will resume. Sadly, Zachariah isn’t the first child the mother of 13 – yes, she has 13 children, 10 of whom are adopted – has lost already. One of her adopted sons, Sammy, tragically passed away back in 2012 from complications from sickle-cell anemia. On her Facebook page, Delilah also shared the number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-8255. According to multiple new reports, Mark Salling slit his wrists and tried to kill himself prior to striking a plea bargain in his child pornography case. The incident allegedly took place in the bedroom of Salling’s Los Angeles home on August 22, both TMZ and The Mirror write. The disgraced ex-Glee star cut both his wrists and quickly “freaked out,” an insider says, explaining that Salling yelled for his roommate almost immediately upon realizing what he had done. The roommate rushed in, found Salling covered in blood and called 911. Paramedics then rushed to the scene, placed the actor in an ambulance and took him to the hospital. TMZ reports that Salling was taken for psychiatric evaluation after this suicide attempt – and, days later, was transported to a rehab facility for psychological issues. It’s unclear if he was officially diagnosed with any official condition or ailment. But if you’re wondering why Salling is almost always wearing long sleeves, even in California, it’s because he has scars on his arms from this cutting. Earlier this month, Salling reached a plea deal on charges that stemmed from police finding over 50,000 images of child porn and erotica on his personal computer. The actor, best known for playing Noah Puckerman for years on the aforementioned Fox comedy, faces four to seven years in prison for this crime. He has also agreed to make restitution, in the amount of $50,000 per victim, although it’s unknown at this time just how many victims are actually included among Salling’s heinous misdeeds. A judge has not yet handed down a sentence. As part of Salling’s eventual release, however, he will be registered as a sex offender. Moreover, he will not be allowed to live within view of any school yards, parks, public swimming pools, playgrounds, video arcades, or any other places that are regularly visited by people under the age of 18. TMZ, meanwhile, says it has spoken to Salling’s attorney and he denied this suicide story. However, he did not say which details were incorrect, adding: “Mark is physically fine and Mark is spending his time atoning and working on himself.” He very clearly has a lot to work on.
