Are Hair Supplements Needed For Hair Growth?

Read the original post:

Source: eyenigelen / Getty When it comes to promoting healthy hair, there are so many myths and theories about growing textured hair . Some hair mavens will say that time, patience and a solid hair regimen is all you need, while others would say that a healthy diet is the way to go. While there are plenty of ways to grow your hair out, there is one option that continues to be a hot topic: hair supplements. And we’ve seen them all! From well known hair brands like The Mane Choice and Hairfinity creating their own hair vitamins, it leaves us wondering if these hair supplements actually work? As someone who uses hair vitamins regularly, I would have to say that they do work, but all brands are not created equal. The truth is, hair supplements comes in handy for anyone looking to grow their hair, it’s all about finding the right brand for you. But like most hair mavens and nutritionists believe, these supplements can help you achieve long tresses , but only in conjunction with a healthy diet. Many hair supplements contain a variety of vitamins and minerals that nourish your body, specifically your hair cells. “What we eat influences our hair in many ways,” nutrition health coach Maria Marlowe tells Well + Good . “Lacking certain nutrients can slow hair growth, leave it weak and dull, and contribute to both dandruff and hair loss .” Using hair supplements is a personal choice, but we recommend consulting with your doctor before taking any vitamins. There is always a risk with taking any vitamins so you want to make sue that everything checks out. I just noticed my edges and the middle of my hair were getting super thin. Every time I would wash my hair it would come out in chunks. I’ve always had full edges. I did some research and found out that new moms are surprised to be shedding more hair than usual in the first few months after giving birth, but it’s perfectly normal. there’s no need to panic: Your hair should be back to normal around your baby’s first birthday. New York City Releases An Anti-Hair Discrimination Guideline For People of Color

Follow this link:

Source: Rushay Booysen / EyeEm / Getty The days of straightening your hair or removing your braids before an interview are officially over. New York City just released their new anti-hair discrimination guidelines that will prohibit schools and employers from denying opportunities to others based on the style of their hair. This is a monumental moment for people of color everywhere who’ve lived in fear that their natural hair had to be altered to fit in a professional setting. The very powerful guideline accurately depicts the experience most people of color have and how they’re experienced in the world. The legal guidance begins with, “ Anti-Black racism is an invidious and persistent form of discrimination across the nation and in New York City. Anti-Black racism can be explicit and implicit, individual and structural, and it can manifest through entrenched stereotypes and biases, conscious and unconscious. Anti-Black bias also includes discrimination based on characteristics and cultural practices associated with being Black, including prohibitions on natural hair or hairstyles most closely associated with Black people. 1 Bans or restrictions on natural hair or hairstyles associated with Black people are often rooted in white standards of appearance and perpetuate racist stereotypes that Black hairstyles are unprofessional. Such policies exacerbate anti-Black bias in employment, at school, while playing sports, and in other areas of daily living .” While it is sad that we live in a time where something like this has to be put into place, I am thankful that it happened. Over the last couple of years we’ve watched school children be refused from attending school, participating in special sports activities and people being told that they’d have to change their hair to complete their work. This kind of behavior teaches children that there is something wrong with their natural hair. We want to change the narrative from self-hate to self-love. Now, cases of discrimination can be met with legal action if they refuse someone’s rights or privilege because of their hair style. These small victories remind me of what it may have felt like when people of color slowly earned normalized rights like co-existing in the same space as a white person. In 2019, we are still fighting to have the same privilege as our white counterparts. Kudos to New York City for taking a stand for us but what about the rest of America? There are countless cases about people of color being fired from work or discriminated against in school because of their hairstyles. Just last April, a black woman was let go from her job because she refused to cut her loccs. When she took the employer to court, she learned that federal law protects people from discrimination based on immutable characteristics, but not their cultural practices, thus losing her case. New York may have won this battle, but we’re still fighting the war for equality. It’s actually my largest 9Mag branch so it will be something for the books for me. It’ll be seen on the backend of the show. Last season on the show, people were able to see me leaving and start one shop, then come back. Later on, they’ll see what my expansion is. From starting in a studio to 5,000 square feet. From dealing with 2-3 people to now working with 15 people. BOSSIP: In your bio, we read a quote that said: “it’s lonely at the top.” Do you still feel this way? RH: I don’t desire to be at the top alone, I never have. I think that that statement came from when I started with a bunch of people and then I had some abandon me, and then I prospered through that. Offset Gets Desperate & Will Smith’s Hair Is On Struggle: This Week’s Winners & Losers

Link:

Source: Scott Dudelson / Getty This week, the wins and loses seemed to be apart of the same coin. With that being said, let’s start off with the L’s this week. Then, hit the next pages to peep their winning counterparts! Losers Offset *Sigh* On Saturday, Offset thought he was in a romantic Disney movie when he decided to completely interrupt Cardi B ‘s Rolling Out Festival performance . The Migos member tried it when he bum-rushed the stage with “Take Me Back” signs, then he tried to swoon Cardi B by gazing into the deep pits of her eyes with an apology.   Booooooo! Cardi was not having it. Offset immediately got backlash for his public display of affection, to which Cardi told her fans to go easy on him. But honestly, it’s hard to have sympathy for someone who’s allegedly a cheating a$$ knee-grow. Yes, we don’t know the ins and outs of their relationship, but that’s exactly why Offset should just lay low and work out their issues privately. Making a big, so-called romantic gesture most likely glosses over all the mess that went down and further portrays Offset as superficial. Offset even tried to win Cardi back with an Instagram video apologizing. “I’m trying to be a better person,” he said in the video. Well take time for yourself to become a better person, then Cardi might take you back! Until then, she’s got shows to book and money to make! Halsey Is Pink

Pink called and she wants her look back! I can’t help it, every time I look at Halsey I see Pink. Girl needs to change up her style and grow her hair out because unless you can sing better than Pink, you best not look like her. And Halsey I can guarantee you doesn’t sing as well. Still kinda hot, but she needs her own style.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: We’re in NAKED Therapy Together!

Readers may want to take the following article with a grain of salt the size of Kim Kardashian’s boobs. And speaking of those large boobs: They are reportedly on display in front of a very lucky and unorthodox psychologist! According to an article in something called Heat World, which sources allege is a magazine in Great Britain, Kim and Kanye West are in couples therapy these days. Such a claim is not new. We actually wrote that Kimye was in an extreme version of counseling way back in early 2017. But there is something new in Heat World’s report, and that something is this: Neither Kim nor Kanye is wearing any clothing during these alleged therapy sessions. They are stone cold naked. “It was Kim’s idea,” an insider explains to Heat of talking openly about their issues while sitting in their birthday suits. Adds this insider: “She made the point that they’ve always communicated better when their clothes are off… “As ridiculous as it sounds, they both agree that being naked loosens their inhibitions and puts them on the same level.” For years, of course, we’re shared photos of Kim Kardashian nude . But it’s one thing to be nude for a magazine spread; it’s a very different thing to be nude while discussing serious marital issues with a therapist. “Most people would have laughed her out of the room, but Kanye agreed to give it a try, especially now he’s lost a bit of weight and is more in tune with his body,” the source hilariously adds, prior to detailing exactly how these sessions go: “[They’re] letting it all hang out while they go through the events of the week and where they’re at relationship-wise.” And the therapist is just cool with this? Yes! Apparently! If you choose to believe this report for some reason! “[They figure] that if it helps Kim and Kanye express themselves, then why not?” There has been a lot of talk of late that Kim is once again thinking of leaving her husband. Multiple outlets have written that she’s sick of his MAGA-loving ways and prepared to divorce Kanye if he doesn’t shut up or change his misguided views. However, speaking to Van Jones this week on a podcast, Kim stood up for West and sounded like a woman who had no plans to be single any time soon. “He’s put himself up against the world for me when everyone told him, ‘You cannot date a girl with a sex tape. You cannot date a reality show girl. This is going to ruin your career.’ Everyone told him that,’” Kardashian said, adding in this interview: “To me, he was like, ‘Oh, you’re not going to tell me what to do. I’ll let you know that it’s going to be okay.’ And he always was that strength for me. “I’ll always love and appreciate him for always standing up for me.” View Slideshow: Kim Kardashian Reveals What Kanye Paid Her $1 Million NOT to Do
