I didn’t watch the Oscars last night because I don’t have the patience to sit and watch celebrities sit in a room and pat each other on the back for 3 hours. On Saturday, live music discovery app Whatslively reported that Lil Uzi Vert had pulled out of the event for “undisclosed reasons.” Though festival organizers did not announce the news to fans and attendees, their newly posted set schedule reflects the changes, with Uzi noticeably absent from any appearances: ROLLING LOUD AUSTRALIA 2019 LET'S GO pic.twitter.com/3rmgVuX1Km — Rolling Loud Australia (@RollingLoudAU) January 26, 2019 As you can see from the new lineup and set times posted on Saturday, Lil Uzi Vert is no longer listed as a performer and neither is his previously collaborator Ski Mask the Slump God. Whatslively also reported that Ski Mask was forced to scrap his appearance because of issues with his passport. Lil Uzi’s slot is going to be filled by Rae Sremmurd and a “special guest,” who is thought by many to be Gunna. It has not yet been specified why Uzi decided to drop out of the inaugural festival, but it’s safe to assume that it has something to do with his recently announced retirement. In the beginning of the year, the Philadelphia rapper took to his Instagram page claiming he had deleted all of his material and that he was “done” with music. “I wanna take the time out to say I thank each and every one of my supporters but I’m done with Music,” he wrote on his Insta-Stories at the time. “I deleted everything. I wanna be normal … I wanna wake up in 2013. You are free.” Just this past Tuesday, Uzi shared another Instagram story that gave fans a little hope: “Wish I still could go to the studio,” he wrote over a photo of himself, “just reminiscing.” The public still isn’t really clear on why Uzi doesn’t want to make music right now, but everyone is just hoping he makes his way back to the studio soon.

SNL Spoofs Soulja Boy Saturday Night Live is really making an effort to keep up with the times — and what better way to show that you’re in the know than to spoof Big Draco. Cast member Chris Redd gave a hilarious Soulja Boy interpretation on Weekend Update and even announced his candidacy for the 2020 Presidential Election, “Man I got to fix this. You know what I’m going to do? I’m going to run for President. Yeah. ‘Soulja Boy Crank That 2020.’ Obama? Obama? Man, that dude been stealing my bars. ‘Audacity of Hope?’ That’s Soulja. That’s me.” Looks like Big Soulja did have the biggest comeback of the year.

Future hasn’t been drinkin’ all the lean that you might think he does and he says he had a real difficult time deciding whether or not he wanted to tell his fans that he’s been double cup free. If he’s willing to be this open and honest then maybe this new album will give us a more intimate look at one of the biggest enigmas in rap.

In a recent interview, Issa Rae let it be known that she’s about to take it there . She told The Hollywood Reporter the upcoming season will address toxic masculinity and adulting, so we hope everyone can handle having to take a look in the mirror. She tells the publication, “I don’t want to give anything away! But I love black masculinity as it relates to black women. I think that’s something interesting that we haven’t gotten a chance to explore yet — and specifically toxic male black masculinity as it relates to black women. I’m trying to find a way to explore that and get a rounded storyline that isn’t preachy.” Issa adds, “This season is about adulting in a new way. I think we’ve watched our characters really fumble and fuck up — and in some ways in your 20s you are allowed that — but this season is about not acting like you’re naive anymore or that you don’t know better. So it is about, what does it look like to know better and to do better?” As for where she draws inspiration for the Insecure storyline, Issa reveals “I’m definitely mining experiences from my own life, especially for my character. And then we tap into the lives and instances and moments a bunch of our writers bring to the room, as well.
