After Mr. Skin Exposes CGI Fake Olivia Wilde Nudity, Change-Up Bombs at Box Office

We knew we weren’t the only ones shocked and appalled by The Change-Up ! It seems the idea of computer generated nipples is offensive to more than just Skin Central, because this weekend the body-switch comedy placed a distant fourth at the box office. The Change-Up finished behind not only Rise of the Planet of the Apes , but also The Smurfs and Cowboys and Aliens , both of which were in their second week. Ouch! After our positive nudity report turned out to be the result of CGI trickery, Skin Central certainly wasn’t shelling out to see this flick, and we’re willing to bet the unfolding CGI scandal we reported here at Mr. Skin kept other guys away too. Well, the tired concept and terrible reviews may have had something to do with it, but we’re pretty sure it was us. Let this be a lesson to movie producers who want to get guys into theaters with A-list nudity but not shell out the cash for the real thing…That’s OUR fountain you’re peeing in, gentlemen, and we’re not gonna let you get away with it. Mr. Skin- protecting dudes from fake nudes since 1999! For a good look at The Change-Up star Olivia Wilde ‘s REAL nipples, check her out right here at MrSkin.com!

Neil Patrick Harris on The Smurfs, Fatherhood, and the Potential for Socialist Smurf Sequels

Actor, singer, magician, talented master of ceremonies, web star… Neil Patrick Harris can pretty much do it all — but can he make the leap into mainstream movie stardom? He’ll find out this month in Sony’s live action-CG adaptation The Smurfs , which sees the famous blue creatures take Manhattan — and the lives of Patrick (Harris) and Grace Winslow (Jayma Mays) — by storm in a modern day-set adventure about appreciating family and stepping into fatherhood.

Comic-Con Cosplayer Profile: Meet the Halo Spartans

As part of our continuing Comic-Con coverage this year, Movieline is profiling some of the most elaborate cosplayers roaming the San Diego Convention Center halls. Yesterday’s subject was a Homeland Security employee dressed as Chef Vader , and this morning’s profilees are two dramatically costumed Halo Spartans, who Movieline found asking for directions at a Mrs. Fields stand outside of Ballroom 20.

Weekend Forecast: Captain, Friends Take on Billionaire Boy Wizard

Comic heroes and A-list romcoms aside, you might call this weekend a lull between the sheer Pottermania of last weekend and the sheer multitude of new titles facing moviegoers next weekend. One left you no choice, the other leaves with almost too much. And in between, there are these:

Happy 10th Anniversary, Ghost World! Let’s Celebrate Its Decade of Misanthropy

If you lived in New York or Los Angeles on July 20, 2001, and were the type of person who loved to make underhanded remarks about friends, strangers and even family members behind their back — and even to their face — then the chances are good you were first in line to see Terry Zwigoff’s caustic comedy of misanthropy, Ghost World . Based on the comic by Daniel Clowes, the film took too-cool-for-school ethos to another level, offered Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansson their best-ever screen roles (true), and even turned Steve Buscemi into a romantic lead. Well, sorta. Let’s celebrate this little oddity by remembering some great one-liners — and a related-but-not music video by Aimee Mann — ahead.

Watch Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz in the Dream House Trailer: Dead Again

Daniel Craig is the sort of mensch who I’d like to believe can do wrong. Unfortunately, when you’re in everything , infallibility is not an option. The new trailer for Dream House , the sepia-postered film exhibits a few contrivances that I’d expect from — well, a by-the-book psychodrama with a September release date. But I admit, the trailer is entertaining, even if it’s a note-for-note reiteration of a movie that came out almost 10 years ago to this day.
