Source: WENN/ Apega / WENN Irv Gotti Defends Ashanti’s Reputation On “Wendy” Show Appearance Give Irv Gotti some credit, the Murder Inc. mogul appeared on “The Wendy Williams Show” Monday to help clear up rumors started after Williams aired a recent clip of Irv and his family on “Growing Up Hip Hop: New York,” where he revealed he’d bedded his former artist Ashanti before his divorce was finalized from his ex-wife, Deb, who also appeared in the clip. Gotti addressed the situation directly with Williams live on her show, saying: “Ashanti is not a homewrecker, guys,” he went on. “Ashanti had nothing to do with me and Deb. Deb caught me when I was directing ‘I Cry’ in Baltimore. Deb, being the vicious person she is, she came down unannounced, ‘I’m Mrs. Lorenzo, give me the room key.’ The door was latched, but she knows I’m in there. That’s what broke me and Deb up.” Irv went on to say he and Deb had been separated and added that Williams didn’t want to be hypocritical seeing as how she had been out in these skreets zippin’ and zooin’ before finalizing her own divorce. He has a point. But do you think he’s done enough to clear Ashanti’s name? Or has the damage already been done? Gotti also confirmed that Ashanti was indeed a background vocalist on J.Lo’s hit song “I’m Real”: “Ashanti was a background vocalist, that’s it, period, don’t make a big thing about it,” he went on. “Yes, it was her voice, but you know how many records have background vocals? Why y’all making a big thing out of it? Ashanti wasn’t a star, she was just in the studio with me, and I was Napoleon.” The ego on this man. But is he right, in y’all’s opinion? Do you think Ashanti wants too much credit for her role on “I’m Real”? We were really interested to hear that he wants to do a Murder Inc reunion but the fact that he and Ashanti haven’t spoken in at least TWO YEARS wasn’t lost on us. Check out the full interview below. What was your favorite part of the interview? Did anything Irv said surprise you?
Source: colin Kaepernick / Getty Colin Kaepernick Spent His Birthday Giving Back To Oakland It seems like Colin Kaepernick is always thinking about how he can help the people around him, and he proves his selflessness time and time again. The former NFL quarterback decided to spend his 32nd birthday feeding the homeless in Oakland, California. According to reports from TMZ, Kaepernick brought out a food truck for those living in Tent City, a large homeless encampment in Oakland. While there, he reportedly paid for every person there who wanted a meal. From the photos of the truck, it looks like some Al Pastor was on the menu. In partnership with Know Your Rights Camp, Kaepernick was walking around handing out backpacks that filled with snacks, socks, air quality masks, shampoo and other crucial resources, according to the outlet. Unsurprisingly, this isn’t the first time Colin Kaepernick has used his birthday to give back to the community. In 2016, he hosted his first Know Your Rights Camp event, where he brought dozens of kids together to teach them about their rights and to learn about social injustice. Shoe Palace also posted about an encounter with Kaep this weekend (which seems to have gone down earlier this month) saying the company gave away over 400 pairs of sneakers to the youth at a Know Your Rights Camp event in Atlanta. Source: SplashNews / Splash News Floss Your Buns And Funbags In Fendi Prints On: Nicki Minaj Says Her Collection Is For Everyone Who Wants To Show Skin Nicki Minaj is talking bawwwdy positivity as she prepares to launch Fendi Prints On , her 127-piece collection with the Fendi brand this October. Minaj’s brand offers a men’s, women’s and children’s collection and she said she made it with her own curves in mind. Via Elle: She knew, she says, that “everybody’s going to be like, ‘Where’s the pink, bi**h?’ ” She also wanted to make body-conscious pieces that showcase curves. “I want to make clothes that make girls with my body look sexy,” she says. “We’re in a new time, where you don’t have to feel bad if you’re not the tiniest you’ve ever been. Women, we struggle with that so much, because we’ll go back to old pictures of ourselves, and we’ll be like, ‘I used to be so skinny!,’ and we start making ourselves feel bad. What I want [to tell] girls is not necessarily, ‘Go and gain weight and have a big booty,’ but ‘If you do have curves, be proud of it, flaunt it—love the skin you’re in.’ As clichéd as that sounds, I’ve been really trying to teach myself that. ‘This is who I am; take me or leave me, bye!’ ” The collection, she says, is “for everyone who wants to show skin. We all go to the beach, we all get sexy, we all have sex, we all bust it open!” Well busss it then baby… While you can also expect to buss your piggy bank open for some items, Minaj also says she kept her roots in mind and has affordable pieces as well: “If I’m going to do Fendi,” she says, “I want to feel like I’m back in Southside Jamaica, Queens, New York, wearing Fendi. I don’t only want to be front row rocking my Fendi; I want to be in the hood rocking my Fendi, too.” Thus the collection includes more approachable pieces like T-shirts and sneakers emblazoned with her face. Her fans, she says, “are going to be really surprised when they see that I did think of things for them. I totally know that there are a lot of people who think that they can’t afford Fendi, and those are going to be some of our new customers, because they’re going to go and get the sneaker, or the hat, or the T-shirt. If you love your fashion, then sometimes you save up for certain things that you really love.” Minaj famously worked as a waitress prior to her current galactic fame. “When I was doing my 9-to-5,” she says, “this is something that I would have saved up for.” Will you be rocking Fendi Prints On? Source: The Washington Post / Getty University Of Virginia Basketball Coach Declines Raise Following NCAA Win Tony Bennett, the University of Virginia men’s basketball coach, led the Cavaliers to their first appearance in the Final Four in 35 years and on to win their first NCAA Championship title in program history this year. But when he was offered a raise for such an amazing accomplishment, Bennett rejected it. “President Ryan and [Athletic Director] Carla were very gracious in what they offered to me as a potential contract, but I have a very good contract,” said Bennett, in an article published on UVA’s website. “I have more than enough, and if there are ways that this can help out the athletic department, the other programs and coaches, by not tying up so much [in men’s basketball], that’s my desire…I have more than I need. I’m blessed beyond what I deserve.” Not only that, the coach also donated $500,000 toward a career-training initiative for current and former UVA men’s basketball players. Bennett went on to say that he consulted with his wife, Laurel, before making the decision to turn the money down. “She’s always said, ‘Is there something we can do that can make a difference?’ That’s been on her heart and mind, and we’ve talked about it a lot,” he revealed. According to an estimate from USA Today, Bennett made approximately $4.15 million last season. This includes his base salary of $525,000, $1.175 million in performance incentives for the team’s 2018-2019 season, $2.5 million in annual “supplemental compensation,” which typically includes compensation for a university’s use of a coach’s likeness or image, and a longevity bonus of $1 million for staying with the team. Though it’s commendable that Bennet turned down a raise, these aforementioned numbers already put him among some of the highest-paid college coaches in the country. According to CNBC, the top 10 highest-paid NCAA basketball coaches all make over $3 million while the highest-paid coach, Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski, makes around $9 million per year. “Laurel and I are in a great spot, and in the past I’ve had increases in my contract,” said Bennett. “We just feel a great peace about where we’re at, all that’s taken place, and how we feel about this athletic department and this community and this school. I love being at UVA.” View this post on Instagram Scenes as we get closer to #NationalChampionship tipoff! #GoHoos #wahoowa A post shared by Virginia Men's Basketball (@uvamenshoops) on Apr 8, 2019 at 6:01pm PDT
Source: Icon Sportswire / Getty Antonio Brown Accused Of Sexual Misconduct By Second Woman Antonio Brown is the walking embodiment of the time-worn Negro saying: “If ain’t one thing , it’s a muthaf***in’ other .” According to Sports Illustrated , the newly-minted Patriots receiver has been accused of sexual misconduct by another woman who he had a professional relationship with back in 2017. The unnamed woman was an artist that Brown met at a charity softball game and soon after commissioned to paint a mural inside his suburban Pittsburgh home. After arriving at his home, the woman at first thought nothing of Brown’s flirtations—an uncomfortable yet constant reality of her professional life—and she was thrilled by his willingness to share her work on social media; he even posted a live video showcasing her progress. “It was very exciting, to have this person interested in my work,” the woman says. “He acted like he trusted me and he let me do my thing.” However, A.B. allegedly didn’t just leave it at “flirtations”… On her second day, however, the atmosphere curdled. The artist says at one point she was in a kneeling position while painting and turned to find Brown behind her, naked, holding a small hand towel over his genitals. “He was flirty with me but I paid him no mind because I was there on business, plus, I had already seen him with multiple girls in the short time I was with him,” says the woman. “I was about 40% done on the second day, and I’m on my knees painting the bottom, and he walks up to me butt-ass naked, with a hand cloth covering his [penis] and starts having a conversation with me.” She took it as a clear sexual come-on. “Unfortunately, I’ve been tried [by men] a lot of times, so I just kept my cool and kept painting,” she says. “After that, it all ended abruptly.” Brown hasn’t publicly addressed this most recent accusation, however, this lawyer, Darren Heitner posted the following tweet earlier today. Antonio Brown has reviewed the sexual misconduct allegations made by an unnamed artist included in a recently published Sports Illustrated article and denies that he ever engaged in such activities. There will be no further comment at this time. — Darren Heitner (@DarrenHeitner) September 16, 2019 No telling how this new case of sexual misconduct is going to go over with the league, but it certainly does raise more questions to both the Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell about how to handle Antonio Brown under the league’s new “kinder to women” schtick.
