TRIED IT: I’m Obsessed With The Multiple Ways To Wear Glitter Eyeliner

Continued here:

Source: Danielle James / Courtesy of Danielle James || @TheIslanDiva I love eye makeup. There is nothing like making your eyes pop! As makeup trends have continued to be polarized (either it’s all fantasy of minimal), I’ve been enjoying the unicorn like possibilities. One of my favorite makeup things to do as of late is play with glitter eyeliner. Source: Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Glam Rock / Courtesy of Urban Decay I love Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner and have it in both gold ‘Midnight Cowboy’ ($21.00, urbandecay.com) and silver ‘Glam Rock’ ($21.00, urbandecay.com ). It gives your makeup a pop and the sparkles keep everyone enchanted. I always get complimented when I rock it. Source: Danielle James / Courtesy of Danielle James || @TheIslanDiva My favorite way to wear this is in my crease. I’ll apply a line in my crease so you see it clearly when I blink and a hint of sparkle when my eyes are open. I love to wear this when I’m running late but want a little pizzaz. I’ll give myself a dramatic wing and then apply the glitter eyeliner in my crease. Afterward, I apply my mascara and voila – the eyes are done. It’s simple, quick, and looks really good. Source: Danielle James / Courtesy of Danielle James || @TheIslanDiva Another way to wear glitter eyeliner is to trace above your eyeliner with the glitter liner. This gives your liner even more dimension and it’s beautiful. You can go bare like above, or add some color for even more of a pop. Source: Danielle James / Courtesy of Danielle James || @TheIslanDiva The last way I like to wear the glitter eye makeup is when I’m going all out glam. I’ll do a full eye and then add it in the crease and the corners of my eyes. It honestly looks absolutely gorgeous and like you did some complicated style. The liner stays put when it’s on, but washes off fairly easy. I’ve also worn it on my face as additional decoration and set it with setting spray so it doesn’t budge. I rocked this all summer and am doing the same into Fall!  Do you like eyeliner glitter? How do you wear it? Tag me @TheIslanDiva in your Instagram posts so I can see! Sister Speaks Out After Brother Was Called N-Word And Told To ‘Get On His Knees’ In Viral Video

Source: Deysha Adriana/Facebook O ne teenager became the victim of racist insults after his one tiny mistake of littering. After the incident went viral, his sister is speaking out about the support they’ve received. According to 10 News , 14-year-old Barry Henry was called the N-word by a woman when he threw his gum wrapper on the ground. The incident went down when he was walking from church with his grandmother and cousin on Sunday in Florida. “I thought she was going to attack us,” he said. “The lady was telling me, ‘Just pick it up,’ real loud and just yelling and everything, crazy.” The whole incident was recorded and posted to Facebook where the woman can be heard yelling, “Nuh uh, don’t even act like that. Pick it up. Find it. Get down on your knees and find it. Get down on your knees and find it.” At one point the woman calls the teen a “ni**er” and continues, “That’s how you are. All y’all (unintelligible) f**king ni**ers. Walking around here acting like something.” The footage was initially posted to Facebook on Sunday by Henry’s sister Deysha Adriana . She wrote: “Actual footage of a woman talking to my 14 year old brother and cousin in this manner, near Williams Park in St. Pete today, because he dropped a gum wrapper on the ground, he was going to pick it up until she started calling him out of his name. Almost 2020 and we still are dealing with being spoken to in this manner over what exactly? A gum wrapper. Tasteless.” The video received over 233,000 views and over 5,000 shares. A St. Petersburg City Council member, Steve Kornell , even shared the video asking to help identify the teen so he can be honored at this week’s council meeting. The mayor of St. Petersburg, Rick Kriseman , also called the woman’s actions “deeply disappointing and disturbing, a wholly unacceptable verbal attack that I would hate to witness anywhere, but especially here in our Sunshine City.” After the backlash against the woman and after Deysha and her brother received massive support, Deysha posted an update: “My family would like to first thank those who have expressed their genuine concern towards my younger brother in regards to the below video. The point of this post is/was to continue to raise awareness regarding inappropriate behavior, and racism in our city, country, and world. Please note that we are not a confrontational family, and we are not looking for vengeance towards this woman, nor are we looking to fight racism, with racism.” Meanwhile, the teen’s mother, Tykeshia Henry-Burch , said that even though she was “shocked” and “mad,” they will continue to pray for the racist woman and “hope that she gets the help that she needs because she does need help.” SEE ALSO:  Penn State Slams Racist Fan Who Sent Star Player ‘Disgusting’ Dreadlocks Letter Black Football Coach Fired For His Team Using ‘N*gga’ At Historically Black School [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3889368″ overlay=”true”]

Future On New Song Preview: “I Don’t Know Her Name But She Had My Child”

Source: Victoria McGraw @victoriasaidit / Urban One If there’s one thing to know about  Future , it’s that he’s going to give his truth on a record. Especially in regards to his relationships with women. Over the weekend, fellow Atlanta rapper Big Bank DTE showed a clip of Future back in the studio, working on new music. In the previewed track, the  Purple Reign  rapper croons: “I don’t know her name but she had my child.” It’s unclear whether or not this is another moment of Future going above and beyond to drop a wild lyric or in reference to his recent drama where a woman filed a paternity lawsuit against him. TRIED IT: Black Radiance True Complexion Contour Palette Will Have You Looking Like You Returned From A Caribbean Vacation

Read the rest here:

Source: Black Radiance True Complexion Deep To Dark Contour Palette / Courtesy of Black Radiance I’ve been on a no-foundation kick for about a year now. I really only wear it for major events or on camera appearances (if that). Recently, I hosted a panel at CurlFest Atlanta and had my makeup done by @LahLuvie (whom I HIGHLY recommend if you ever need your makeup done in Atlanta). Source: Arkeedah McCormick / Courtesy of Danielle James She had me looking like a STAR and I can’t lie, that I began craving that look. I’m currently in Africa and was attending a friend’s private movie screening and wanted to just give my face some extra love. I packed the Black Radiance True Complexion Deep To Dark Palette ($8.49, blackradiancebeauty.com ) and decided to give it a try. Source: Black Radiance True Complexion Deep To Dark Contour Palette / Courtesy of Black Radiance The palette is a powder palette and I’m not an expert at contouring. I was a little nervous to mess up; however, I decided to walk boldly into beauty. The first step I did was apply all my skincare products. After I let those settle in, I then applied my foundation. After my foundation, I applied some concealer under my eyes and blended in to help disguise my dark circles that were the result of some serious jet lag. Now it was time to use the palette. Contouring is great for when you want to help create some symmetry to your face or even slim out certain areas. The palette instructs you with an easy to follow application guide where to apply the contour, sculpt and highlight. This was helpful because as earlier mentioned, I’m not a contour queen. I suggest using a beauty blender, my personal favorite is founded by a Black woman, The Makeup Bullet ($25.00, amazon.com ). It comes 3 in a pack. I’ve been using them since about 2016. A beauty blender will help because if you are a bit heavy handed like me, it gives the opportunity for you to blend in your mistakes (I did this frequently). The Makeup Bullet is like a finger sponge, so it also helps with control and has a great pointed tip. Source: Danielle James / Courtesy of Danielle James I found the contour powder to be a bit dark at first; however, once I blended it in, it really created a beautiful look. Source: Danielle James / Courtesy of Danielle James The highlight is my absolute favorite and is even prettier upon application that it is in the palette. I started using it as well on days I didn’t contour but just wanted to glow. Source: Danielle James / Courtesy of Danielle James I was impressed with the overall look when I was done. I added some Kiss Lashes in Lacey ($6.99, kissusa.com ) and stepped back to admire my final beat! If I do say so myself, my makeup looked (almost) professionally done! I received a ton of compliments! Another thing, is that this easy to use guide helps the process not take so long. I think the contouring step took me all of 10 minutes (and this was my first try). I set the look with Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray ($33.00, sephora.com ) and mixed Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint in Unveil ($24.00, sephora.com ) and Unbutton ($24.00, sephora.com ) to create a pinky chocolate nude look. I was ready for a night out! I give this palette five stars. The quality seems more expensive than the price tag and I was extremely happy with the final look. If you like to contour, you need to add this palette to your life! Source: Black Radiance True Complexion Light To Medium Contour Palette / Courtesy of Black Radiance For my lighter complexion beauties, the palette also comes in a light to medium option ($8.49, blackradiancebeauty.com ). I love that they offer two options for Black women. Beauties, have you tried this palette? Tell me in the comment section! If you do use it, share your look with me on Instagram by tagging me or DM’ing me @TheIslanDiva. I want to see! HAUGHT OR NAUGHT: Are You A Brow Pomade, Brow Powder, Or Brow Pencil Type Of Girl? [POLL]

Continue reading here:

Source: Umehz Charles / EyeEm / Getty When it comes to the topic of shaping our eyebrows, the debate is an ongoing one throughout the beauty community. While some beauty mavens are interested in growing out their brows, some are conditioned to use brow pencils or powders to style their eyebrows during the growth process. Now more than ever, pomades are slowly replacing brow pencils as the popular choice. And it makes sense! Pomades are a great product to create bold brows that we see all over Instagram. Definition is key for many makeup lovers and pomades are a great alternative to execute that look. This formula also comes in handy to give brows a long-lasting hold for all day wear. However, if your a fan of the traditional soft brow look, the right pomade will deliver. Many makeup mavens think that pomades are only for those with sparse brows, but anyone can use this product. To perfect the look, dip an angled short brush into your pomade. Gently tap the brush against the back of your hand to remove excess product. Then, brush on the product starting at the center of your bottom brow for an outline. Follow up with an outline at the top of your brow starting just after your brow begins and connect with the bottom line. Fill in the brow with light strokes and use a spoolie brush to fade the product into the front. A front runner and fan favorite in the Hello Beautiful office is Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW Pomade ($18.00, sephora.com ). It’s long lasting and comes in 11 different shades. On the flip side, brow pencils also come in major clutch! You can create soft, natural looking brows with ease. And if you’re a sucker for a well placed arch, brow pencils will blow your mind. Simply start at the most sparse area of your brows and fill them in with short, feather like strokes. The key to this method is to be light-handed in application and drawing on the strokes in the direction of your hair growth towards the end of your brows. If you’re looking for an affordable brow pencil, try NYX Micro Brow Pencil ($12.00, nyxcosmetics.com ). This is great if you’re just starting with brows, the only downside is that the pencil tends to run out quickly. You also have beauty mavens who can’t resist a good brow powder. Providing a softer effect that other brow products, powders can be worn alone and can be used to set eyebrow pencils for a fuller finish. The application process is also as simple as can be. All you’ll need is an angled brush coasted with the powder formula. Dab on the back of the hand to remove excess product and sweep the brush in the direction of your hair growth with a light hand. Brush through with a spollie and voila! Our Fashion and Beauty Director, Danielle James, swears by Urban Decay Brow Box in Brunette Betty ($12.97, nordstromrack.com ), “It comes with a spoolie and an applicator and even though it’s a powder, it also has a white pomade to help shape or create a stronger brow. I love it!” It’s currently on sale for over 50% off so you might want to scoop this up ASAP. So, the question remains- are brow pomades easier to shape your brows? We would definitely say that pomades are the safest bet! Not only does this product provide all day wear, it provides the picture perfect finish we all know and love. Pencils are great for those who are just starting their makeup journey, but pomades are where it’s at! What say you? Are you a fan of brow pencils or are you attached to eyebrow pomades? EXCLUSIVE: Tym Wallace Shares How To Recreate Nia Long’s Braided Pompadour Ponytail

Read the original post:

Source: Matt Winkelmeyer / Getty Nia Long got all gussied up for the premiere of 47 Meters Down: Uncaged . The actress has a role in the film. The beauty looked gorgeous in a Tiffany blue dress by House of CB. Her makeup was done by Saisha Beecham, who gave the beauty a smokey eye and a nude lip. However, we couldn’t get over her pompadour, braided bunched ponytail completed by celebrity hairstylist Tym Wallace ! View this post on Instagram Today with @iamnialong for the premier of @47metersdown makeup by @saishabeecham #tossedbytym thank you so much @hairareus for coming thru so short notice @nealstonge styling A post shared by tym (TIM) wallace (@tymwallacehair) on Aug 13, 2019 at 7:39pm PDT We spoke exclusively with Wallace, who shared the inspiration for the look. “I was inspired by her dress. It had such a 90s feel. With the eye-catching color and very deep plunging neckline. I knew we needed a chic ponytail to compliment the entire dress. And add the makeup – Nia Long – WOW…ageless beauty.” Source: Gregg DeGuire / Getty Ponytails and braids have been trending on the red carpet for celebrities this season. Wallace shares, “I am always a fan of the ponytail. Ponytails are forever classic.” Nia Long’s ponytail has more of an edge, “We are giving ponytails a modern twist. For Nia’s look, we went for a punk modern ponytail paying homage to #BlackGirlMagic with some swooped edges.” Well, you’ve snatched our edges with this look! Want to recreate the look? Here are the steps and the exact products that Wallace used. The first step was making sure the hair is clean. Wallace used Mizani Thermasmooth Shampoo ($16.00, ulta.com ) and Thermasmooth Conditioner ($18.00, ulta.com ). Afterward he applied Mizani’s 25 Miracle Leave In Milk ($19.88, walmart.com ) and “then blow dried the hair into sections.” The next step is to “press the hair to make it super sleek.” He left out a section for the pompadour braid. “Next, I moothed the hair up in a ponytail using ORIBE Original Pomade ($34.99, express.google.com ) and Bed Head Hard Head Hairspray ($10.39, amazon.com ), then formed the hair with the blow dryer to lock on the ponytail.” To give Nia Long’s hair additional length, he added Hair Are Us 24 Inch Hair ($100.00, hairareus.com ) around the ponytail for “extra length cut layers.” He then added some waves and brushed it out and created slight puff balls, then added the braided pompadour. TRIED IT: The Kaolin Clay In This Whipped Facial Mask Will Purge Your Pores While Leaving Your Skin Moisturized And Protected

Continue reading here:

Source: Urban Hydration Pink Clay Whipped Facial Mud Mask / Courtesy of Urban Hydration Clay is an active ingredient in a lot of cult beauty products. Clay helps to pull impurities out of your pores and can minimize oily skin. There seems to be clay masks in almost every color: blue, green, white, and more. However, by far, pink clay masks are my favorite. It’s officially been a year since I’ve been foundation free, making my skincare routine of the utmost importance to me. I try to do masks at least 2-3 times a week, utilizing different ones for different purposes. I was gifted the Urban Hydration Pink Clay Whipped Mud Facial Mask ($9.99, urbanhydration.com ) and I use this mask about every other week to help keep my skin looking flawless and excess oil at bay. Source: Danielle James / Courtesy of Danielle James This mask contains kaolin clay which is great if you have normal skin. I have “normal” skin and sometimes it’s hard to find products that cater to me. The packaging does call out “great for sensitive skin”, which it is because Kaolin clay absorbs oil and toxins from your skin but doesn’t do it too harshly. When applying the mask, after a few minutes, I can feel a slight tingle. It’s working! I’ve been using this mask for about three months and I’ve noticed each time I use it my skin seems brighter and has a natural looking glow. It makes my skin feel really clean and healthy. You want to keep it on for about 15-20 minutes, this allows the oil from your skin to absorb into the mask. Kaolin clay is known to be one of the gentler clay formulas, the silica-based formula also contains trace minerals to help nourish your skin. The Urban Hydration formula also contains beeswax and Vitamin E. If you are acne prone, this mask will also be a game changer for you. Beeswax has anti-inflammatory properties and will help soothe any popped pimples (don’t pop your pimples) or acne that is healing. It also creates a thin layer between your skin without clogging your pores, but protecting your skin from the elements. It also promotes cell reconstruction, so paired with exfoliating, it’s great for cell turnover. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that can help protect your skin from free radicals and reduce the damage from UV rays. I love that this mask is pre-mixed. I had tried another “rose” clay mask but they wanted me to add water and I know it’s just one small step; however, after a long day at work, sometimes I just want to be able to slap something on. The formula feels rich, thick and luxurious. For under $10.00, it feels like a mini-spa treatment for your face. The jar gives you about 8-10 uses. You can probably get more, but I’m a bit heavy handed. Lastly, another thing I love about this product is it’s year-round-use. It’s great in summer to help fight sun damage and clogged pores but also great in winter when your skin needs a little boost of moisture. This brand is created by a Black woman who also donates 1 gallon of water for every product you buy. I love beauty with a mission. This is definitely a product that will be a mainstay in my beauty cabinet! Have you tried a pink clay mask? What about Urban Hydration’s formula? Sound off in the comment section.
