Source: Charlotte Observer / Getty Todd Palin Files For Divorce From Sarah Palin After 31 Years Of Marriage Sarah Palin’s husband, Todd, has filed for divorce from the former governor of Alaska and Vice Presidential candidate , citing “incompatibility of temperament” and that “they find it impossible to live together as husband and wife.” According to NBC News , Todd Palin asked to dissolve the couple’s 31-year marriage in a filing submitted on Friday in Anchorage Superior Court. The paperwork was submitted only eight days after the couple’s anniversary. Though the filing only uses initials, it details the couple’s marriage date and the birth date of their 11-year-old son, Trig, asking for an equal separation of both assets and debts. The couple got married in 1988 and have five children: Track, Trig, Bristol, Willow and Piper. Todd’s filing asks for shared custody of their youngest, Trig. This news comes a little less than a year after their daughter, Bristol Palin , got divorced from her ex-husband Dakota Meyer, which followed their short stint on one season of MTV’s Teen Mom OG .
When Jenelle Evans was fired from Teen Mom 2 , producers were presented with an interesting problem: Evans was widely despised by both her co-workers and the show’s cast, but nonetheless, her absence would be keenly felt. After all, drama is gold in the world of reality TV, and no one delivers it quite like Jenelle. And the folks at the helm of the Teen Mom franchise know firsthand how the loss of a good villain can affect a show’s viewership. In the weeks after Farrah Abraham was fired from Teen Mom OG , for example, fans rejoiced that they would no longer be subjected to her word-salad tirades and diva demands. But Teen Mom OG ratings have been plummetting since Farrah’s departure — a sure sign that sometimes, audiences need someone they can love to hate. Producers did their best to fill Farrah’s shoes, casting not one but two moms to take her place. In the end, one of them, Bristol Palin, lasted only a single season, while the other, Cheyenne Floyd, has been mostly met with indifference by fans. So when it came time to replace Jenelle, producers did not enter the decision lightly. In the end, they cast Jade Cline , another 16 & Pregnant alum. And this time, it seems producers have learned from their past mistakes and hired a mom who’s easy to work with, but who still brings plenty of drama to the table. “She’s been lovely to work with; honestly a real dream,” a production insider tells The Ashley’s Reality Roundup . “Everyone really likes her. She’s reliable, and has treated the crew and producers with respect.” Another insider echoes those sentiments, confirming that Jade is essentially the anti-Jenelle. “Jade has been the exact opposite of Jenelle,” the insider reveals. “She is not a diva whatsoever— which some of the other girls on these shows tend to be— and has not had any issues with anyone on the shoots. It’s been a refreshing and nice change, actually.” Asked to describe working with Jenelle, the second source said simply, “Chaos!” “It was so touch-and-go. We never knew if we were actually going to be shooting if we were scheduled to film with Jenelle,” the insider tells The Ashley. “And if we did film, [we didn’t know] if we would get any usable footage, if she would storm off and refuse to film, or if David [Eason] would try to mess with the shoot.” But that doesn’t mean Jade’s scenes will be lacking in emotion: “Jade’s story is just really sad,” one behind-the-scenes source tells The Ashley. “There were some super-tense moments, especially concerning her ex-boyfriend that were very scary.” The source adds that Jade is a reality TV natural, and she’s provided the cast with so much usable footage that she was able to finish filming well before her castmates. “There was so much to film!” the source says. “We have so much footage we don’t need any more for this season,” the insider adds. “It was so easy to get, not having to deal with canceled shoots and drama queen tantrums!” We’re sure Jenelle will handle the positive reports about her replacement with the level-headed equanimity and gentle good humor for which she’s become famous. … and she’s back! On Monday night’s brand new episode of Teen Mom OG, Mackenzie McKee made her return to the franchise that made her semi-famous all those years ago as a cast member on Teen Mom 3. And she wasted no time stirring up the sort of controversy that Bristol Palin, who McKee has basically replaced, could never bring to the series table. After filling viewers in on the major changes in her life — such as her relationship troubles with husband Josh and the health status of her mother, Angie Douthit, who has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer — Mackenzie jumped right back into the swing of things. By which we mean the following: She accused Josh of cheating! McKee explained on air how she’s struggling to keep up with her children while they were home for the summer. Moreover, since rodeo season was approaching (meaning Josh will be on the road for long stretches of time), the reality star was unsure how to handle all these kids and keep up with work. And then the real drama kicked in… After Josh left to compete in a rodeo, Mackenzie received a text from a woman who alleged that her husband went out to a bar and cheated on her — and Josh was with him at the time. Because their romance had been solid for awhile, Mackenzie had no idea how to react to this claim. But she chose to be direct. When Josh arrived home, she grilled him about this supposed night out without her. What happened? Did he cheat on her?!? “There was no affection or anything like that there,” he said. “I’m just here to tell you that I was at a bar, and I’d like you to trust me when I’m getting a few drinks at a bar . . . I was just avoiding the fight, and I was wrong.” Josh tried to reassure his concerned wife that he’d never go behind her back by being with another woman — but McKee didn’t seem convinced, especially once Josh said he couldn’t promise he’d always tell her where he was going. (Editor’s Note: What the heck, dude?!?) Fromt here, Mackenzie went to see her parents to discuss the situation, getting an update from her mom in the process. It turns out that doctors wanted to start Angie on a new type of chemo, yet she wasn’t sure she wanted to go through with it. Why the heck not?!? “I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that only God can heal me,” Angie said, continuing as follows: “The only reason I’m continuing with all these treatments is, yes, I want to live, but it’s for you guys. I don’t want you to think, ‘Mom gave up. Mom quit. Mom stopped.’ I’m not gonna do that.” We really can’t imagine going through anything like this. “I just want to see you get better. That’s all I want, and if it doesn’t happen I’m gonna get really mad,” Mackenzie said through tears. She added: “It’s like all my siblings were this perfect cup of glass and I was a cup of glass that was shattered, and you were the glue that was holding it all together. When that glue melts, I don’t know what I’m going to do.” View Slideshow: The Teen Mom Empire: Here’s Every Spinoff From MTV’s Biggest Franchise! Quite the debut of Mackenzie McKee, huh? Source: 40 Acres And A Mule Filmworks / Netflix Writers Fredrica Bailey and Stefon Bristol are putting an interesting spin on time travel with their upcoming Netflix film See You Yesterday . Produced by Spike Lee, the drama follows two teenagers (Eden Duncan-Smith, playing CJ and Dante Crichlow, playing Sebastien) who are keen on creating backpacks that enable time travel. In an unexpected twist of events CJ’s older brother Calvin is shot dead after an encounter with police officers, causing the same wave of unrest that we’ve witnessed time and time again in real life . “I’m so sorry about all of this,” CJ’s mom says through tears. “If I could go back and fix it, I would.” But, the thing is CJ and Sebastien just might be able to… Using their backpack tech, the best friends successfully travel back to the day when Calvin was killed by police officers. CJ and Sebastien don’t get it right the first time around, however — or the first few times, for that matter — and only have but so many attempts to try and save him. With only two jumps left, time is literally ticking and… you’ll have to tune into Netflix on May 17 to see how this tragic, and all too relatable, story ends. ALSO: Yassss, Queen! Teen Mom OG may have found a replacement for Bristol Palin. And we’re guessing this newbie brings far more fireworks to the program than her mostly mundane and boring predecessor. Are you ready to welcome Taylor Selfridge to the fold, MTV viewers?!? The relatively unknown Instagram model has confirmed that she’ll appear on multiple episodes of Teen Mom OG next season, as the series chronicles her relationship with Cory Wharton. The pair met during the first season of Ex on the Beach and dated briefly after the show wrapped, prior to breaking up and then getting back together in February of this year. Taylor and Cory went public with their new romance by sharing multiple “baecation” photos of each other in Mexico about two months ago. “Things with Cory are going really great right now,” Selfridge told Us Weekly on Tuesday, adding: “I don’t know what the future holds for us as far as taking our relationship further, but we are in a good place and we’re very happy.” She added in this interview that she’ll be at least a part-time cast member on Teen Mom OG next season. Following the announcement that he was knocking boots once again with Selfridge, Wharton – who debuted on Teen Mom OG last year as the baby daddy of star Cheyenne Floyd – responded to a bunch of criticism from Internet trolls as follows: “Cheyenne’s a great person, a fabulous mother, and I’ll always have some love for Cheyenne but I’m not IN love with Cheyenne… “I have to do what I have to do and Taylor is the person who makes me happy. I’m sorry to disappoint some of y’all…if Y’all really want to see me happy, you’ll support me no matter what.” Selfridge has mostly made reality TV fans angry over the years, however, due to actions such as spitting on one of Cory’s exes, Alicia Lavida, during an episode of Ex On The Beach. She is fiery and confrontational and seems destined to stir $hit up far more than Palin, who dropped out of the show last week and who was stuck in a storyline all season long with her now-ex-husband. She didn’t feud with any co-stars at all, really. Will Selfridge bring a different type of personality? It sure seems that way. But Selfridge claims there’s no bad blood at all between her and Floyd, despite Cheyenne hinting strongly at times last season that she wanted to be fully together with Wharton. “We both understand that there has to be mutual respect for each other and her and I are cordial,” Taylor told told Us Weekly of Cheyenne, who did have a brief fling with Cory after Taylor and Cory split the first time. Selfridge also noted that she and Floyd have a solid relationship. “I met Cheyenne over a year ago so it wasn’t new to me to see hr. Of course it’s somewhat awkward but her and I have talked, and there’s no drama between us.” Why do we feel like that may change once cameras start rolling? Wharton and Floyd are the parents of a two-year old named Ryder. And Selfridge was actually on hand for the recent birthday party, saying that Floyd’s family made her feel “very comfortable” the whole time. As for backlash against their relationship on social media? Selfridge says she’s only focusing on the positive. “I know people want there to be drama in the situation we’re in, but there’s just not any and no one wants there to be problems. I’m just enjoying my relationship I’m blessed to have with Cory and Ryder.” View Slideshow: Cheyenne Floyd: I Don’t Care Who Cory Wharton is Dating, Because …
It's been almost a decade since 16 and Pregnant debuted to harsh criticism and stellar ratings. In the years since, the show has taken on a life of its own, making stars of its original cast members and spawning numerous spinoffs. There have been a lot of surprises along the way — who would have thought the ladies of Teen Mom 2 would prove to be a bigger hit than the OGs? — but the biggest surprise of all is how popular the franchise remains. So take a trip down Teen Mom memory lane with this rundown of every spinoff launched by 16 and Pregnant . It's quite a list: 1. 16 and Pregnant It all started with 16 and Pregnant, which made its debut on MTV way back in June of 2009. 2. Moving Up to the Majors Unfortunately, most of the girls featured on 16 and Pregnant did not go on to Teen Mom fame. Some were never re-cast, while others — such as Mackenzie McKee — starred on spinoffs that didn’t last. 3. Cause For Optimism? The casting of Briana DeJesus on Teen Mom 2 offered some hope to former 16 and Pregnant stars, and no doubt many were optimistic that they too would get the call from MTV. 4. Hopes Dashed Unfortunately, the last time producers had a vacancy to fill, they went outside the franchise, adding Bristol Palin and Cheyenne Floyd. 5. Teen Mom OG Of course, many fans of the franchise were upset by the fact that Bristol and Cheyenne did not meet the core criteria of the show in that they were not “original girls” featured in the first season of 16 and Pregnant. 6. OG OGs Amber Portwood, Farrah Abraham, Maci Bookout, and Catelynn Lowell were the first stars of the show that started out as Teen Mom and became Teen Mom OG. View Slideshow
Teen Mom OG has gone through so many changes recently. Sometimes it barely even seems like the show we've watched for years now. Farrah Abraham and Ryan Edwards both left, and Bristol Palin and Cheyenne Floyd joined the cast. Gone are the days of keeping up with those four girls from the first season of 16 and Pregnant. Like, Sarah Palin was featured on the last season. That's how weird things have gotten. But as bizarre as things are now on our beloved reality show, things might be getting even worse by the time the next season rolls around. Because Amber Portwood really might be quitting. 1. Oh, Honey … Amber had a very, very hard time last season. Worse than usual, even. 2. On the Bright Side … Sure, she wasn’t high out of her mind like she was in the old days, and she didn’t commit any felonies on camera, either. 3. Yay? Actually, now that she’s with Andrew and they share precious little baby James, she’s really seemed to calm down a lot. 4. Uh Oh No, Amber’s most recent issues have been very different: she’s been suffering from postpartum depression. 5. Mental Health That’s on top of her previously diagnosed bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. 6. Fair Enough As you can imagine, she was in a really bad place. View Slideshow
You might think that royal life is all high tea and beheadings, but it turns out there’s real work involved, and the penalty for choosing not to participate is a stern finger-wagging from the peasants. Okay, so it’s not as severe as the consequences you would face if you decided to stop showing up for work, but the idea of being nationally shamed for your laziness would probably be enough to get your arse off the throne from time to time. Obviously, we kid the Royals only because our forefathers fought a very fancy war with drums and ponytails to secure that right for us. Anyway, we’re sure quite a few of them take real pride in their community outreach work and are motivated by more than just the fear of a withering glare from the Queen during the traditional St. Reginald Day feast of blood pudding and silence. Meghan Markle, for example, has reportedly thrown herself into her work in a way that few royals in recent history could match. Her devotion to bettering the lives of the most marginalized Brits has earned comparisons to Prince Charles’ wife, Camilla Parker Bowles Camilla is widely admired for her willingness to take on less photo-op-friendly causes, such as mental health, addiction treatment, and racial justice. Now, it seems Meg is following in her mum-in-law’s footsteps by reaching out to at-risk communities that many might prefer to ignore. Meghan Markle: Bananas For Prostitutes That’s Meghan writing inspirational slogans on bananas at One25 — an organization that reaches out to sex workers in the Bristol region. “I saw this project this woman had started somewhere in the States on a school lunch program,” Meghan told reporters. “On each of the bananas she wrote an affirmation, to make the kids feel really, like, empowered. It was the most incredible idea – this small gesture.” In the video above, Meg can be heard to remark: “I am in charge of the banana messaging.” She proceeded to adorn each nanner with a special message such as: “You are special,” “You are strong,” “You are brave” and “You are loved.” Each one was reportedly adorned with “a tiny heart.” “That really touched me — and I’m not even a royalist,” One25 CEO Anna Smith told reporters. “She had clearly listened and heard what we are all about — that we don’t judge, we simply offer the service and unconditional love. She totally got it.” You’re not alone, Anna. Our cynical American hearts are touched AF over here. The official statement from Kensington Palace describes the organization thusly: “One25 in Bristol – a charity that helps women break free from street sex work, addiction and other life-controlling issues, through practical and emotional support.” So while the situation is rife with potential for cheap jokes about bananas and prostitutes, Meghan’s work with One25 is actually quite admirable. After all, charity work isn’t all homeless puppies and bake sales. Hopefully, Meghan’s example will serve to remind millions that addicts and sex workers are human beings, too. And hopefully, the British tabloid press will be inspired to focus more on Meghan’s charity work and less on her feud with Kate Middleton . We kid, of course — that will never happen. Tori Roloff took to Instagram to share that her son, sweet baby Jackson Roloff , had experienced a medical scare. Instead of going through with their Disneyland plans, Tori had to take her baby to a doctor. See her harrowing story, including photos and videos, below: “We’re supposed to be in Disneyland,” Tori shared with a heavy heart. As her fans and followers could immediately see, they were instead in a doctor's office. Jackson, she revealed, had “got nursemaid’s in line for Peter Pan.” She is referring to nursemaid elbow, a condition that usually appears in toddlers and preschool-age children in which a ligament falls out of place. The painful condition usually arrises when a child is lifted by or near the wrist. Also known as pulled elbow or, more formally, as radial head subluxation, this can usually be treated pretty easily at the doctor's. This story does, ultimately, have a happy ending. Tori reveals in her Instagram Stories that Jackson's condition “had already been reduced by the time we got to Urgent Care.” “But,” she continues. “We got him checked out anyway.” That is the correct course of action. Children with nursemaid elbow will sometimes hold their arm immobile in order to avoid the pain that comes from moving it. That does not mean that the symptoms are gone. And, in general, if your small child is suddenly in pain, you want to make sure that it's over — for their sake. Tori shared a longer post, summarizing the entire ordeal — and the happy ending. “What a day,” Tori began. We've all had days that end with that line. “It started out pretty miserable,” Tori explained, then pivoted: “Actually, it was great at first.” Tori wrote that she enjoyed “driving to Disneyland.” She added that they made haste to “getting in line for our favorite ride (Peter Pan).” “That’s where things went south,” Tori explains. “Jackson is prone to nursemaids elbow,” Tori explains. Some children are more prone to it than others — and we're not referring to mistreatment by a caretaker as the cause for the propensity. Tori speculates that it “could be a dwarfism thing or it could just be a Jackson thing.” Different children develop at different rates, so some elbows may be more prone to this condition. But, at the same time, some kids are just a little more rambunctious. “He was pulling away from me in line,” Tori explains. “And it happened.” “I knew right away that we were in trouble,” Tori shares. “And Jackson would need to see a doctor.” The only good thing about having a kid who is prone to the condition is that you know how to deal with it after that first time. “I was so bummed,” she admits. “We got to go back to Disneyland,” she adds, after their trip to see the doctor. She says that things were better then, writing: “(with lots of cuddles and some Tylenol behind us).” As you can see in the video that we have included, Jackson got to watch Mickey Mouse put on a show, and was back to his happy self. He also met Mickey and, when offered a five, left Mickey hanging. Baller move, dude.
