Nicki’s goon squad must have paid the Cannon-Carey crew a visit… Nick Cannon Says Mariah Carey ‘Satan’ Comment Wasn’t About Nicki Minaj Last week, veteran pop diva Mariah Carey stopped by Hot 97 radio in NYC to chat it up with Angie Martinez and she made some waves during their convo after making a comment that working as a judge on American Idol this past season was like working with Satan every day. Fast forward a week later and Mariah’s hubby Nick Cannon is doing damage control. via All Hip Hop Mariah Carey created a media stir recently when the Pop diva made some cryptic comments about her time as a judge on American Idol. Speaking with Angie Martinez the “Fantasy” singer said the experience “was like going to work everyday in hell with Satan.” The comments were suspected to be referring to fellow former AI judge Nicki Minaj. The two performers had a really public feud that played on the reality show. Carey’s husband Nick Cannon revealed to Access Hollywood that he does not believe the Satan remark was aimed at Minaj or any of the other judges. “I don’t think her comment was about anyone on the panel,” said Cannon. “I don’t think she was speaking directly about [Nicki Minaj]. I think she was talking about the situation in general.” Given that Mariah’s comment was in response to Angie’s question about how it was working on American Ido l with all the drama between she and Nicki, it was crystal clear who she was referring to. Nicki’s goon squad must have gotten to the Cannon-Carey house and put them in check. Nice try though, Nick.

Come on, Mariah Carey. Tell us how you really feel about Nicki Minaj. In an interview today with Angie Martinez of Hot 97, the artist reflected on her single season behind the judging table of American Idol and made it as clear as can be: it totally and completely sucked! “Honestly, I hated it,” Mariah said. “Here’s what it was. I was the first person who signed on…I thought it was going to be a three-person panel. “They gave me a nice…monetary moment, and I was just like, ‘Okay, Randy Jackson will be there; I’ve known him forever. He used to play bass for me. Like, this isn’t a big deal. This will be nothing.'” So why did it become something? Carey did not single out Nicki by name… but she might as well have. “It was like going to work every day in hell with Satan,” Carey said of her time on the show. Carey and Minaj famously and opened bickered throughout the run as panelists. In one instance, Nicki was caught cursing Mariah off on tape and in another she allegedly threatened the life of her fellow Idol star. There was one positive in Carey’s run, however. “You know what I loved? I loved the contestants,” she told Martinez. “And some of them that were so good – and also really good people, you could tell – it was disappointing when [the judges] would, for political reasons, not put people through.” Mariah, meanwhile, has moved on. Who are our famous family members? Wednesday night, the stars’ seeds got their chance to shine in a great charity event for kids that brought out the pride and joys of many of the NY Knicks, Yankees and a plethora of other entertainers. Here’s more about the event: The inaugural Kids Rock! runway show took place last night on September 11th, 2013 at Grand Central Terminal for New York Fashion Week 2014 and featured a bevy of celebrity offspring and children models walking the runway in looks from iconic brands, Levi’s®, Converse, Nike, Jordan and Nike SB. Hosted by NBA All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire, the Kid’s Rock! fashion show was dedicated to benefitting the Amar’e Stoudemire Foundation and nonprofit organization K.I.D.S. (Kids In Distressed Situations) to aid at-risk youth and children in need. Along with Amar’e Stoudemire’s children, Amar’e Jr., Assata and Ar’e, celebrity kids who walked the runway include: Carmelo and La La Anthony’s son Kiyan, Lil’ Jon’s son DJ Young Slade, Kelly Bensimon’s daughter Thaddeus Ann, Sherri Shepherd’s son Jeffrey Tarplay. Taking after his showbiz mom, Jeffrey was the life of the party as he danced down the runway and giving out high fives to the professional athletes in the front row. Derek Jeter’s nephew, the children of the New York Yankees’ CC Sabathia and Angie Martinez’s son Niko saluted the crowd to cheers. The children and nephew of Orange is the New Black star Dascha Polanco, and Shameless actress Emma Kenney also strutted down the runway. In attendance to root on the kid models and to support a good cause were: Carmelo and LaLa Anthony, Kelly Bensimon, Tyson and Kimberly Chandler, Patrick Toussaint, Po Johnson, Lil’ Jon, Jeannie Mai, Jill Martin, Angie Martinez, DJ Cassidy, Dascha Polanco, Amber Sabathia, and Sherri Shepherd. 10-year-old DJ Fulano, pint-sized deejay and style maven, spun the latest hits. Hair authority and owner of Cozy Cuts for Kids, Cozy Friedman, and her team styled the models as they sported the hottest looks of the season. Looks like a great event!
