Eminem has released “Berzerk,” the first single from his upcoming album, and promises to “take it back to straight hip-hop / and start it from scratch.” Fittingly, the track is something of an old-school anthem. With a simple beat and gnashing, classic samples (Beastie Boys and Billy Squier’s “The Stroke”), Eminem delivers his lyrics with a familiar flow. The hook? “Life’s too short to not go for broke.” Indeed. “Berzerk” is from Eminem’s upcoming eighth album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 , which drops November 5.
