Nicki Minaj Joins American Idol Judges Panel American Idol fans can get ready for lots of colorful commentary and colossal-caked costumes next season because Nicki Minaj will be joining the judges panel. After reports circulated that the young money madame was considering the gig yesterday, it has now been confirmed that she will indeed be filling the AI judges seat next to Mariah Carey. Nicki Minaj — and her multiple personas — will be joining Mariah Carey at the judges’ table on American Idol, two sources confirm to Us Weekly exclusively. “I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it,” one insider reveals. “A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.” A second source says the “Super Bass” rapper, 29, is “100% confirmed to judge American Idol.” Reps for FOX and Minaj had no comment when contacted by Us. Looks like they’re down to one seat to fill and either Bad Boy head honcho Diddy or record producer extraordinaire Pharell Williams will be the man for the job. Either way, whoever gets the job will definitely have their hands full with these two divas! We just hope the stage is big enough to fit both of their larger than life personalities … Source
