Soccer star Hope Solo, never one to mince words, claims DWTS is rigged, citing occurrences during her stint on the show that “prove” producers, not voters, call the shots. The 31-year-old, who partnered with Maksim Chmerkovskiy en route to a fourth-place finish, says they received a “secret memo” that revealed they would be ousted several weeks earlier. Hope writes in her recently-released memoir: “Maks later told me he argued with the judges because he’d been told we were going to be eliminated, that there a secret memo going around that said who would be ousted each week.” “He explained that he wanted to cause some drama on the live portion of the show so that they wouldn’t be able to resist keeping us around, hoping for more fireworks.” “It seems to have worked – we weren’t eliminated that week.” Insiders says the show’s producers are livid with Hope, who also accused Maks of slapping her on the set, believing “she made up the allegations merely to sell books.” ABC is exploring legal options against the Olympian. For his part, the always outspoken Maks has had no comment so far; he and Kristie Alley, his partner after Hope, are reunited this season on Dancing With the Stars: All Stars.
