Jennifer Lawrence Makes HUGE Donation to Children’s Hospital

We didn't necessarily need another reason to love Jennifer Lawrence . But we'll take it! In the following video, the Oscar-winning actress pledges $2 million to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Kentucky. This generous gift was revealed at a press conference held at the Louisville medical center regarding the facility's plans to redevelop its heart center. The donation will be used for this purpose and also to build a new cardiac ICU. “I’m excited to announce we will be establishing the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital,” Lawrence says in the following video message. “As part of my effort to help these children and caregivers, I challenge the entire community to get behind this cause and help match my gift by raising an additional $2 million to support all of these brave and inspiring children.” Last December, Lawrence (a Kentucky native) visited this same medical center for the third year in a row to spread Christmas cheer to young patients. A press release in recognition of this great deed reads: “The Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) will feature private rooms dedicated to children recovering from heart procedures, open heart surgery including heart transplant, heart failure and other conditions requiring intensive care. “The new 14-bed unit will offer space for families to stay with their children. It will be staffed by additional specialists with cardiac critical care training and experience, dedicated nursing staff and other professionals focused solely on heart care.”

Rumor Control: T.I., Toya, Reginae Rant, Rave, And Speak Out Against “False Reports” Of Lil Wayne’s Condition

It’s not just “the b!t$#es” who love him… Lil Wayne ‘s YMCMB family weren’t the only ones to come his defense against the reports that he was near-death last night while in the Intensive Care Unit at Cedars-Sinai Hospital. His “true to da game patna” T.I., his baby mama-turned-Memphitz-wife Toya, and daughter Reginae all took to various social networks to spread the word that their Weezy was ok, and warn about potential backlash from TMZ’s conflicting reports. Tweets “Tha Kang” : Toya Wright took her battle to Instagram: Same with Reginae : Our thoughts are still with Wayne and his family, hoping and praying for a speedy recovery. However, it is still very unclear what exactly Weezy’s status is at this time. YMCMB exec/artist Mack Maine said there would be a statement released “soon”, but no sign of that yet. Hopefully we will have some definitive information by this evening. Stay tuned to Bossip for the latest.

UPDATE: Brett Michaels Is Showing Signs Of Consciousness!

makli Despite bad rumors circulating around the net, Brett Michaels is unbelievably a good fighter!  Michaels is showing signs of consciousness.  He is talking slowing which is a great promise that he is on his way to recovery. Dr. Joseph Zabramski said “Bret’s sheer will to live and fully recover is undeniable,”.  Zabramski has been treating the rocker since he suffered  brain hemorrhage. The Poison lead vocals continues to undergo multiple tests at the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix but “has an unbelievable fight in him,” says Zabramski. “[Bret] told me what kept him alive at the moment of the hemorrhage,” adds Zabramski, “was that he did not want his family to wake up and see him lying unconscious in the middle of the floor.” Michaels, who was rushed to the intensive care unit April 22, found out Tuesday that he had a side-effect called hyponatremia, a lack of sodium in the blood, that could lead to seizures. His rep says he has not had any seizures. In addition to the hyponatremia, Zabramski says Michaels’s medical team will continue testing because of the severe cranial and back pain he suffered after the blood drainage and the emergency appendectomy a week before the hemorrhage. Barrow neurologists and neurosurgeons plan to hold a press conference Tuesday at noon to give an update on Michael’s condition, treatment and prognosis.
