The 23-year-old member of Phoenix’s Goddess Temple is one of 30 members charged following a raid of the “church” last week. “Do I have sex with seekers? Well, I’m not going to even fully answer that question because it’s sacred information,” Averill said in a CBS 5 News interview .”I knew that me being apart of the Temple at the young age, that in ways I would be a warrior for this, for what I am right now,” Averill said. This is Goddess Iyata — she allegedly used her healing touch to give quite the “religious experience.” In a section called “testimonials,” the website for Phoenix Goddess Temple featured an email from a client who called himself David, thanking “gypsy goddess” Iyata for a “state of extraordinary orgasm.” The Phoenix Goddess Temple still has several advertisements on the adult entertainment section of classified ads website Backpage.com. An ad for Iyata dated Sept. 5 showed a woman in what appears to be a belly-dancing outfit. “I will ignite you with my touch, breath, and Love. We will Cultivate your ecstasy to it’s highest potential,” the ad says. Ummmm we can’t think of too many churches that advertise in BackPage.
