Garcia-Calle is being held without bond and will likely appear at an extradition hearing on Monday, court officials said. She is charged with sexual assault in the 2nd degree and child abuse, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. A Kean University graduate, Garcia-Calle has been teaching math at Plainfield High School since 2008, according to her classroom website. In a report that appeared on the website mycentraljersey.com, authorities in New Jersey began investigating after the student told a family member about his relationship with the teacher. Family members then contacted police, according to the news site.
