At this very moment, lucky Capcom fans are enjoying some mechanized multiplayer mayhem compliments of the newly released multiplayer versus demo for Lost Planet 2 . And while high-intensity gaming is reason enough to download the demo, assuming you’ve received an early access code from Capcom by being a member of Capcom-Unity.com , there’s another great reason to do so as well. Each time someone downloads either the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 version of the demo, a donation will be made to the non-profit disaster relief organization Music for Relief as part of Capcom’s “Kill Big for Charity” campaign. After a million demos have been downloaded, $20,000 will be donated to the charity fund. Each additional 500,000 downloads will add $5,000 to the fund. The campaign started yesterday and will last until midnight on May 5. Capcom will also be holding a pre-launch event in Los Angeles on May 6. If you want to attend, you’ll have to sign up at Capcom-Unity.com, and then receive an invitation. The event will also feature a celebrity tournament, the winner of which will choose which Music for Relief cause will receive the money raised by the demo download event, which tops out at $25,000. If you want to attend the pre-launch event, but you don’t live in the L.A. area, not to worry. Starting today, Capcom community members can submit their strategies and tips for the LP2 multiplayer demo ( right here ), and Capcom will reward the best four with a place in the celebrity tournament as well as airfare to L.A. to attend the event. Should the need arise, feel free to E-Mail me your tips, suggestions, and/or personal philosophies, or follow me on Twitter .
