Shia LaBeouf is retiring. From acting? No, unfortunately. But… life. “In light of the recent attacks against my artistic integrity, I am retiring from all public life,” the 27-year-old Tweeted early this morning. “My love goes out to those who have supported me.” Shia LaBeouf: So Much Plagiarism LaBeouf’s reputation has taken a massive hit over the past several weeks, following a plagiarism scandal that involved him clearly stealing material from artist Daniel Clowes for his short film HowardCantour.com. Clowes’ attorney sent the star a cease-and-desist letter in response, which LeBeouf posted (in its entirety) on Twitter, blacking out everything except the words “he must stop all efforts to create.” In a wink to that fiasco, LaBeouf included the hashtag #stopcreating in his retirement Tweet. After the plagiarism controversy hit, Shia released a long letter apologizing and later added three simple words: “I f-cked up.” But he’s gone on since then to engage in Twitter battles with Lena Dunham and Taylor Swift . The guy pretty much sucks at life. What do you think of him retiring from the public spector? Good riddance! No, don’t go! More like Shia LaDouche! View Poll »
