Iceland Volcano Eruption| Evacuation Still Ongoing – Updated Iceland Volcano Eruption – Several Airline Companies across Asia canceled at least 30 flights to and from Europe due to enormous ash cloud from a volcano erupting in Iceland. The Eyjafjallajokull volcano erupted near southern Iceland, producing and spewing huge pyroclastic materials and molten lava into the air. This prompts the officials to conduct force evacuation to hundreds people residing near the foot of the volcano. The eruption, which occurred just before midnight (2000 EDT, 8 p.m. EDT), came weeks after a series of small earthquakes. There is still no confirmed reports of injuries and damages to the residences of the villages near the said volcano, however, a state of emergency was declared by the government backed up by several scientist. Several vulcanologist are alarmed that the eruption could probably trigger a series of dangerous eruptions. There are new reports that the local government of Iceland evacuated at least 500 people in the villages surrounding the 150 KM danger zone. Stay tuned for additional updates.
