Domino Book Chain Collapse Sets World Record

This awesome video of books collapsing has set a world record for longest domino chain – and it’s all for the good cause of encouraging kids to read. The Seattle Public Library set up 2,131 hardcover books end-to-end in an effort to promote its Summer Reading Program, then filmed the thing. Concept designers Luke Greenway and Laura D’Asaro assembled lines of books that traverse stacks, climb stairs, and even spell out the word “read.” Not only that, the tumbling works encircle a number of library patrons in action! Ray Allen, LeBron James Bail Out Heat to Force NBA Finals Game 7

The NBA Finals will be decided in a winner-take-all Game 7 Thursday after Ray Allen rescued the Miami Heat from the precipice of defeat last night. Allen drained a late three-pointer to tie the game in regulation after LeBron James powered Miami to a frantic fourth-quarter rally and overtime escape. Ray Allen 3-Pointer Ties NBA Finals The Heat beat the San Antonio Spurs 103-100 to extend the NBA Finals as far as they can go and keep Miami’s hopes for a second straight title alive. Losing his headband but keeping his cool in playing the entire second half and overtime, James tallied 32 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. He made the go-ahead basket with 1:43 remaining in OT, and later called it “by far” the best game he’s ever been a part of. Can he top it tomorrow? Neither team has won successive games in the Finals, with the Spurs taking Games 1, 3, and 5, and the Heat answering in Games 2, 4, 6. Who will win Game 7? Who do you want to take the crown?

Watermelon Oreos: Actually a Thing!

Without a doubt, watermelon is one of the quintessential fruits of summer, be it on its own, in a salad, in a beverage, or … as a new Oreo flavor? Nabisco has launched a limited edition Watermelon Oreo flavor for this summer, and the flavor isn’t even the first fruit-flavored edition of the cookie. They’ve also come out with banana split, coconut, chocolate berry burst, ice cream rainbow sherbet and strawberry milkshake varieties … who knew? “We chose Watermelon because it is a fun, summer flavor that goes great with the Golden Oreo cookie,” spokesperson Kimberly Fontes said. There are no actual watermelons in the ingredients, of course … just food dyes, sugar, high fructose corn syrup and “artificial and natural flavors.” But hey … look at those green and pink colors!!
