Horror remakes are like pubes: there are so many variations on the basic idea that no matter what your taste, there’s bound to be something you like. Some are faithful to the point of obsession, like Gus Van Sant ‘s 1998 remake of Psycho , which recreates the Alfred Hitchcock classic shot for shot. Some take certain liberties with the story, like 2009’s My Bloody Valentine 3D , which takes the nudity-free original and adds a full 90 seconds of full frontal from Betsy Rue .
