By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Robert Pattinson is sure of two things: Love at first sight can exist and he always has something on his lips (though, coincidentally enough, they have nothing to do with one another.) When MTV News caught up with Pattinson to discuss his latest project, “Water for Elephants,” the topic turned to whether he believes in love at first sight. His “Elephants” character, Jacob, goes through something similar when he experiences an instant attraction and connection to Marlena (Reese Witherspoon) . “I think people can [fall in love at first sight],” said the 24-year-old star, who has been romantically linked in real life to his “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart . “I think pretty much all people who love each other, had some kind of thing at first sight,” he continued. “I mean, there has to be some kind of moment where you, like, feel a different energy around someone.” RPattz went on to make the argument that, “Generally, if you don’t notice someone ever, you’re probably not going to fall in love with them.” In other words, Robert Pattinson probably doesn’t believe in too many romantic comedies! But if you’re still hoping a simple run-in with Pattinson will make for a love match, there’s something you should probably know about him: He has some strange habits where his lips are concerned. During our “love at first sight” chat, Pattinson got distracted and wondered aloud, “Oh, why do I always have stuff on my lip?!” After mimicking licking his lips, the actor said this sort of thing happens “like, constantly!” Pattinson then joked that the lip thing was a reoccurring problem during every interview he’d had while promoting “Water for Elephants” over the weekend. “If I keep my mouth closed for 20 seconds, my lips [get] stuck together,” RPattz complained.
