Django Unchained Premiere Canceled in Wake of Connecticut Shooting

For the third time this week, a movie studio has canceled a red carpet event out of respect for the victims of the Connecticut school shooting in Newtown. Following the elimination of the Jack Reacher premiere and the opening of Parental Guidance , we’ve now learned that there will be no Hollywood premiere for Quentan Tarantino’s latest, Django Unchained . Django Unchained Trailer Said the Weinstein Company in a statement: “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, and in this time of national mourning we have decided to forgo our scheduled event.” Django Unchained opens on Christmas Day and stars Jaime Foxx as a recently-freed slave who teams up with a bounty hunter to on a killing spree and rescue his wife. It also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz.
