In a bizarre interview published last week, Lana Del Rey glamorized premature death , and hinted that she’d like to emulate her idols Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain by not living to see 30. The young artist was understandably upset by Lana’s comments and has made her feelings clear on Twitter: “@LanaDelRey the death of young musicians isn’t something to romanticize,” Cobain tweeted. “I’ll never know my father because he died young & it becomes a desirable feat because people like you think it’s ‘cool.'” “Well it’s not,” Cobain continued. “Embrace life, because you only get one life. The ppl you mentioned wasted that life.” Wow. Surprisingly insightful comments from 21-year-old – particularly one partially raised by Cobain’s notoriously troubled widow, Courtney Love. Shortly thereafter, Love’s father suggested she was involved in Cobain’s death . Needless, to say it remains an ugly situation more than 20 years after Cobain’s death, so it’s plain to see why Frances might object to someone romanticizing her troubled family. It should be noted, however, that Lana has accused The Guardian of misquoting her in the controversial interview in question. 7 Iconic Photos of Kurt Cobain 1.
