We’re still awaiting updates and details after Jessa Duggar gave birth to her first child earlier this week, though this much we know for certain: The child is a boy. He came into this world on Thursday, November 5. He’s not small, weighing in at 9 pounds , 11 ounces and 21.25 inches. We don’t yet know the little one’s name, but we do now know that like her big sister Jill, not everything went totally smoothly for the first-time mother. According to TMZ, an ambulance was called to the Duggar residence in Tontitown, Arkansas, at some point on Thursday afternoon. It’s unclear whether paramedics were needed to help Jessa actually deliver or if there were complications after the baby arrived or what. But sources have confirmed that Jessa had been planning a home birth, and that mother Michelle Duggar is the person who dialed 911. Jessa was hospitalized for at least some period of time, but photos posted by father Ben Seewald depict him and his child in front of their home closet. The famous family has not addressed any childbirth complications, while Seewald informed fans on Friday that Jessa and the baby are doing very well.
