Person of Interest followed up last week’s sudden, shocking death of Carter by honoring her memory and dealing with its aftermath in Season 3 Episode 10. Carter’s funeral, set to Johnny Cash’s version of NIN’s “Hurt,” set the tone for an hour that centered on Reese and Shaw’s aggressive pursuit of Simmons. Meanwhile, a heartbroken Finch found his world falling apart, making for some a emotional and standout performance from the great Michael Emerson. As CBS procedural installments go, Person of Interest Season 3 Episode 10 was particularly moving, and helped establish it as one of TV’s best.
