Source: Simon McGill / Getty Family Of 11 Raises Over $138,000 After Their Mother Loses Battle With Cancer Fox 2 Detroit recently reported about the death of 44-year-old Rashida Lawson who had become sick and was taken to the hospital. There, doctors discovered that she had stage 4 breast cancer and just a week later she, unfortunately, passed away, leaving behind 11 kids ranging from ages 4 to 23 years old. The family created a GoFundMe account to raise money for their mother’s burial and funeral expenses and reached their goal of $100,000. However, after the world got wind of the family’s story, donations kept pouring in as many people became eager to help out and the GoFundMe campaign ballooned to $138,405 in donations for the family. Although the money will help out in some regards, the family admits that they still have some financial struggles and are trying to cope with the loss of their mother as they try to pick up the pieces where their mother left off.
