Swedish climate expert said that the Icelandic volcano might cause slight warming in the atmosphere, but not as strong as the Pinatubo eruption in the Philippines in 1991. Philippines’ Pinatubo Volcano was stronger than eruption of Iceland Volcano which throwing all the ashes up into the stratosphere (more than 10,000 meters up in the atmosphere), climate expert Fred Goldberg reported to media. The Iceland Volcano eruption is not as strong and the ashes are therefore not thrown into the stratosphere, but remaining in the troposphere at 5,000 to10,000 meters said by Goldberg who is specifically focuses his research on the relations between Pinatubo volcano and global warming. He added that the incoming sunlight will warm these ash particles, which in turn will warm the surrounding air and therefore may cause a slight warming of the atmosphere.
