This week, we had some real Hip Hop talk with “The King Of Memphis”, DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia. We chopped it up about some of his early influences when he was coming up as a DJ way before the group’s success. “Bass music was the sound in the South. The few local rappers we had in Memphis were not commercially known so the majority of our record collections were from East Coast & West Coast artists.” One of the groups he mentioned was the Jungle Brothers. The 1989 “Done By The Forces Of Nature” album was one of Paul’s favorites. This album was the follow up to their 1988 classic “Straight Out The Jungle.” Real hip hop heads will agree with DJ Paul on this one. “J. Beez Comin Through” was one of the singles off this album.
