Bobby Brown: He’s Seven Plus Years Off Of Narcotics, 21 Days Sober, And Goes By Bad Azz Bobby Brown Now!

Bobby Brown performed with New Edition at a sold out concert during the Allstate Tom Joyner Family Reunion gathering that attracted 14,000 people over the weekend. Bobby performed a set that lasted almost two hours with band members Ralph Tresvant, Ronnie DeVoe, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Johnny Gill. Bobby appeared to be in good spirits and was greeted wildly by the audience during the opening. While on stage he told the crowd: “I’m seven and a half years off of narcotics, 21 days clean of alcohol, and I go by the name Bad Azz Bobby Brown!” Bobby chilled backstage it with Tom Joyner, his son Cassius, and wife Alicia Etheredge (who was treated at a local hospital for a seizure days earlier). Timbaland Let’s Us All Know Missy Is Back–Droppin’ Tracks Labor Day Weekend

Timbaland tweeted about some HUGE music news. And it’s lookin’ like Drake’s diss don’t mean isht for Missy or Timbaland. Despite her absence on the recently released Aaliyah track featuring Drake, “Enough Said,” Missy’s about to drop two new singles of her very own this weekend. After largely keeping out of the limelight for the last seven years, Missy Elliott has announced that she will release two new singles this weekend. The tracks, “9th Inning” and “Triple Threat,” mark Elliott’s first solo releases since 2005′s Gold-certified The Cookbook. In the interim, Elliott has toured, collaborated with the likes of J. Cole and Demi Lovato, and recorded her own Behind the Music with VH1 — but for the most part she has retreated significantly from her prior public stature. This week, we had some real Hip Hop talk with “The King Of Memphis”, DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia. We chopped it up about some of his early influences when he was coming up as a DJ way before the group’s success. “Bass music was the sound in the South. The few local rappers we had in Memphis were not commercially known so the majority of our record collections were from East Coast & West Coast artists.” 
One of the groups he mentioned was the Jungle Brothers. The 1989 “Done By The Forces Of Nature” album was one of Paul’s favorites. This album was the follow up to their 1988 classic “Straight Out The Jungle.” Real hip hop heads will agree with DJ Paul on this one. “J. Beez Comin Through” was one of the singles off this album. Simon Cowell’s X-Factor has wrapped up the boot camp sessions and now the contestants are headed to the judges houses for what… more eliminations! There is one contestant that has caught our eye and it has nothing to do with his soulful voice. Meet LeRoy Bell! He is a 59 year-old songwriter from Seattle, WA. Leroy has been in the business for a minute now but never really had that big big break he always wanted. Leroy has made it to the 3rd round of X Factor, Check out his previous auditions: 1st: 2nd: His sound is very ol’ school, his style is on point and he has some sort of swag but… 59?!?!
