MTV News can’t wait to chat with David Fincher about ‘Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,’ Christopher Nolan about ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and more tonight. By Eric Ditzian Andrew Garfield in “Spider-Man” Photo: Columbia Pictures As all of Hollywood descends on the Beverly Hilton Hotel hours from now for the 68th Golden Globe Awards, MTV News will be at the center of the action. We’ll be reporting live from the red carpet, from the show itself, and then from the celeb-packed afterparties hosted by HBO, NBC and the Weinstein Company. Hollywood Crush will kick things off with a red-carpet live blog, followed by MTV Movies Blog with a live blog of the actual show. And, of course, you can find all the latest news from the entire event at MTVNews.com. It’s set to be a crazy night, chock-full of news about awards season and other high-profile projects currently in the works. Here are a few of the folks we’re most psyched to chat with on the carpet: Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone : These “Spider-Man” co-stars have each been nominated for acting awards, though neither are likely to come out on top. No matter! Self-deprecating kids that they are, the stars will be pumped just to be invited to the party. Expect some comments from each on the brand-new first-look photo of Garfield in his Spidey gear . James Franco and Anne Hathaway : Both are up for acting awards, and we’re wondering if they’ll be able to calm their nerves long enough to take notes from Ricky Gervais about how to knock an emcee gig outta the park. We’ll be asking them for teasers about what they have planned for their Oscar hosting gig : musical numbers, digital shorts, witty barbs at the expense of their A-list colleagues? David Fincher : He’s the favorite to win Best Director at the Globes — as well as at the Oscars — but “The Social Network” isn’t the only flick of his that has caught our attention as of late. This week, the first official photos of Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander in “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” hit the Web. And when it comes to Fincher’s adaptation of that international best-selling crime thriller, there’s truly nothing we don’t want to know. Christopher Nolan : The “Inception” director might not steal a Globe statuette from Fincher, but he deserves yet another round of applause for the herculean accomplishment of making a kick-ass action flick out of such a WTF concept. He’s at the top of his game, and we couldn’t be more excited about what he’s planning for “The Dark Knight Rises.” Will the tight-lipped director spill any secrets about that upcoming project? Stay tuned! Johnny Depp : The guy is the front-runner to win best comedy/musical actor for “Alice in Wonderland,” but the Los Angeles Times floated an interesting hypothetical for the mercurial, normally above-the-fray actor: What if neither of his nominations — for both “Alice” and “The Tourist” — translate into victory? After losing for “Pirates of the Caribbean” in 2004, Depp reportedly stormed off “in a huff,” never to return. We’ll be looking for some insight into his pre-show mind-set on the red carpet, as well as some juicy details about his latest “Pirates” movie, due later this year.
