It’s been over two years since Johnny Depp and Amber Heard finalized their divorce , but the latest Hollywood split in recent memory is once again making tabloid headlines. That’s because Depp is suing Heard for $50 million , alleging that the actress violated a non-disclosure agreement by writing about her experiences as an abuse survivor in a Washington Post op-ed. The bitter civil trial has seen Depp and Heard hurling increasingly shocking allegations at one another. In court documents, Heard described Depp as an alcoholic “monster,” prone to frightening fits of jealousy and violent rage. She later accused the actor of trying to get her fired from the movie Aquaman and blacklisted from Hollywood. Depp fired back, claiming that Heard tried to cut his finger off during a fight and went to great lengths to frame him for physical abuse. Thus far, most of the allegations have come in the form of filings from Depp and Heard’s lawyers. But now, Johnny is speaking for himself in newly-released documents first obtained by The Blast . “I’ve denied Heard’s allegations since she first made them in May 2016 when she walked into court to obtain a restraining order with painted on bruises that witnesses and surveillance footage show she didn’t have each day of the preceding week,” the actor wrote. “I’ll continue to deny them for the rest of my life. I never abused Heard or any other woman.” You may recall the photos of Heard’s bruised face that were published in several publications in 2016. Believe it or not, Depp is now claiming that the press was bamboozled by a skillful makeup job. He portrays heard as a master of deception whose “lies are internally inconsistent, shifting, and contradicted by overwhelming testimonial, photographic, audio, video, and other evidence.” From there, Depp does the thing where he claims he’s not just working to rescue his public image — he’s also standing up for the real victims! He writes that he filed the suit “not only to clear my name and to restore my reputation, but also to attempt to bring clarity to all the women and men whose lives have been harmed by abuse and who’ve been lied to repeatedly by Ms. Heard as their spokesperson.” Heard’s alleged motive for concocting such an elaborate lie is never revealed in Depp’s filing. Presumably, he wants us to believe she hoped to destroy his career and fleece him for everything he’s worth in the divorce. Of course, the man the internet has dubbed “Johnny Debt” has done a fine job of destroying his own finances, what with spending $30,000 a month on wine for several years, among other ridiculous expenditures. Johnny went and screwed that up by filing a series of lawsuits that required the courts to dredge up all the nasty allegations against him. Most recently, he sued Heard for $50 million for discussing her experiences as an abuse survivor in a recent Washington Post op-ed. His lawyers came out swinging and alleged that Heard tried to cut Depp’s finger off during one particularly nasty fight. Amber’s team fired back with both barrels, leveling allegations both horrific (repeated tales of physical abuse directed at Heard) and hilarious (they claim Depp was so jealous of James Franco that he threw a tantrum for an entire cross-country flight). In addition to his battle against Heard, Depp is still suing his former lawyer Jake Bloom because — get this — Bloom advised Depp to settle with Heard out of court, as a messy court battle would do irreparable damage to his career. Apparently, when you’re rich enough, you can actually sue people for being right. Anyway, that case has also yielded a ton of messy revelations, including an account of Depp attempting to get Heard fired from her role in Aquaman . In her Washington Post piece, Heard claimed that she had been “blacklisted” in Hollywood following her split from Depp: “A movie I was attached to recast my role. I had just shot a two-year campaign as the face of a global fashion brand, and the company dropped me,” she wrote. “Questions arose as to whether I would be able to keep my role of Mera in the movies “Justice League” and “Aquaman.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, lawyers for Bloom intend to prove that Depp was behind that vicious campaign: “Sources familiar with the deposition requests say [Warner Bros. chairman Kevin] Tsujihara will be asked to testify under oath about whether or not he played a role in “blacklisting” Heard at Warner Bros.,” the outlet reports. “Depp, a star in the studio’s Fantastic Beasts franchise (he plays Grindelwald), is alleged to have personally lobbied Tsujihara to remove the actress from Aquaman and block her from getting other projects.” Yes, Bloom plans to get the former president of Warner Bros. — who was himself disgraced in a recent, Wenistein-esque “casting couch” scandal — to verify that Depp tried to destroy Heard’s career. In the piece, she referred to herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse.” Depp denies everything and is calling it an ‘calling it an elaborate hoax.’ The lawsuit states, “Ms. Heard purported to write from the perspective of ‘a public figure representing domestic abuse’ and claimed that she ‘felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out’ when she ‘spoke up against sexual violence.’”Depp’s attorney acknowledges that she never mentions Depp by name, but says the entire article “depends on the central premise that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp perpetrated domestic violence against her.” Johnny Depp also claims to have proof that Amber Heard was spending some questionable time with Telsa founder Elon Musk during their short marriage in another report . Depp claims Heard received many “late night” visits from Musk at Depp’s residence and used the building’s personnel to facilitate the visits. He claims the “Aquaman” star asked the staff at the building to “give her ‘friend Elon’ access to the building’s parking garage and the penthouse elevator ‘late at night.’” Depp’s legal team claim they’ve deposed members from the building’s security team, and they testified to seeing Musk leaving the building the next morning after his alleged late night visits. Johnny Depp has just taken his feud with ex-wife Amber Heard to an entirely new level. Monetarily speaking, at least, that is. According to multiple outlets, the veteran actor has filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard, alleging that her accusations of abuse against him have harmed his reputation. In court papers obtained by The Blast, Depp says that Heard’s “false allegations” are nothing but “an elaborate hoax to generate positive publicity” for her and to “advance her career.” The lawsuit specifically cites a December 2018 Washington Post op-ed that Heard wrote on this topic “Ms. Heard purported to write from the perspective of ‘a public figure representing domestic abuse’ and claimed that she ‘felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out’ when she ‘spoke up against sexual violence,’” the court documents state. To be clear, Heard never actually mentioned Depp by name in this piece. However, the lawsuit says the op-ed was dependent “on the central premise that Ms. Heard was a domestic abuse victim and that Mr. Depp perpetrated domestic violence against her.” The lawsuit goes on to say that Heard’s op-ed cost Depp his job as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Depp and Heard got divorced in 2016 after just 15 months as husband and wife. Shortly afterward, Heard’s accusations of domestic violence went public, with portions of a deposition Heard gave years ago making the viral rounds just a few months ago. “Johnny and I refer to his other personality, the part of him that is present when he beats me up,” Amber said in this revealing interview. “We call that the monster. And have called [that] the monster for years.” The deposition is 471 pages in length. At one point in it, Heard says of Depp: “I was petrified of the monster.” The actress went on to detail how Depp hurled a phone at her face in the pasts and how he has grabbed and pulled her by the hair. However, Depp has alleged the opposite; he has said that Heard actually abused him , writing in this new lawuit: “Ms. Heard is not a victim of domestic abuse, she is a perpetrator.” He claims he had to have his finger surgically re-attached after Heard allegedly threw a vodka bottle at him, for example. He took the newspaper to task for running with the rumor that he asssaulted Heard on numerous occasions. “Mr. Depp filed new and previously unseen evidence with the U.K. court, including security camera video clips of Ms. Heard’s face in the days following her false beating claims, sworn depositions taken in 2016 from neighbors, eyewitnesses and building personnel who interacted with Ms. Heard in the ensuing days, and more,” attorney Adam Waldman told Us Weekly on January 22. This is all a very ugly and sad situation. In a statement from Heard’s representative in response to the $50 million defamation suit, the actress says; “This frivolous action is just the latest of Johnny Depp’s repeated efforts to silence Amber Heard. She will not be silenced. “Mr. Depp’s actions prove he is unable to accept the truth of his ongoing abusive behaviour. “But while he appears hell-bent on achieving self destruction, we will prevail in defeating this groundless lawsuit and ending the continued vile harassment of my client by Mr. Depp and his legal team.” Depp, it should be noted, is in serious debt .
