We’re several months away from “Power’s” season three premiere, and we’re already getting tiny hints that the new season is about to be lit. According to Deadline, Dreamgirls actress and Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose has been cast to play the role of LaVerne Thomas, a cop with street smarts from Tommy and Ghost’s old neighborhood. Rose will appear in multiple episodes, and while it’s unclear which direction the new season will take, we get the feeling that Officer Thomas might be the one to blow the lid off of Angela’s underhanded dealings and Ghost’s drug enterprise. Just days after the series’ record-breaking season two premiere last spring, Starz announced that they would be renewing the show for a third season. According to Deadline, Daniels is creating another Fox pilot and Queen Latifah recently signed on for the starring role.
