‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Trailer: Some Burning Questions

What’s with Bruce Wayne’s cane, and did Catwoman steal Mrs. Wayne’s pearls? By Kevin P. Sullivan Christian Bale in the new “Dark Knight Rises” trailer Photo: Warner Bros. If you’re able to tear yourself away from the new theatrical trailer for “The Dark Knight Rises,” you should be applauded. The two-minute trailer packs so much goodness in that it can be hard to focus on anything else. Other fans like you have already begun to post detailed trailer analyses and lists of supposed Easter eggs trying to unlock every secret the new preview holds. We have a few questions of our own that need answering, so here is our list of the burning questions from the “Dark Knight Rises” theatrical trailer. What’s with the cane? The trailer doesn’t come right out and say it, but it doesn’t take much scrutinizing to see that Bruce Wayne walks with a cane in two scenes. Early in the trailer, you can see Bruce and his cane reflected in the cloche and from the side as he passes the camera. He also appears to be favoring one side during the masquerade scenes with Selina Kyle and Miranda Tate. It’s hard to imagine Nolan choosing to feature Bane as the main villain and neglecting to make reference to the act he’s most famous for, breaking Batman’s back. The cane could signal some manifestation of the moment from “Knightfall.” Are there two Robin references in the trailer? The blogosphere blew up Monday with theories that the stadium scene features two references to the Boy Wonder, thus confirming his presence in the movie, but both have been sufficiently debunked. Whether you noticed the first depended on whether you follow the NFL. When fans saw that the player who outruns the earthquake was named “Ward,” they had either two reactions: “Oh hey, that’s Hines Ward, wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers,” or “I have no idea who Hines Ward is, so that’s a reference to Robin’s status as Batman’s ward!” The other reference was most likely the work of a crafty background actor. Among the fans in the stadium, one person held up a large “R” that spelled out the team name “Rogues.” Eagle-eyed viewers noticed that the “R” resembles the stylized one used for the Robin logo, but as Empire pointed out, most of the 10,000 extras for that scene brought their own props to set. Did Catwoman steal Mrs. Wayne’s pearls? Reddit user “mpty” noticed something interesting while rewatching “Batman Begins.” The pearls Selina Kyle dons in the trailer resemble the set Thomas Wayne shows young Bruce in the original movie. This could be the first we see of Catwoman’s famous hobby, burglary. So much of her portrayal in the trailer focuses on her advocacy for the 99 percent. This may be the first hint at the other side of Ms. Kyle. Is there a flashback to “Batman Begins”-era Bruce Wayne? Christian Bale speaks his only line in the trailer while wearing clothes and sporting a beard that haven’t been around since his early days as a world traveler. He looks very similar to how he did during his training with the League of Shadows. We know the last film in the trilogy doubles back to cover some territory from the first movie; perhaps we’re seeing that here. Tips On How To Appeal A Denied Health Claim

Go here to read the rest:

Under the 2010 health law, the situation should improve. Health plans will be required to inform members that they can appeal disputed claims internally within the health plan as well as to an independent review organization not affiliated with the health plan. The new rules become effective in July. As the daughter of a woman who had a terminal disease, I can tell you first hand that it pays to appeal. You must stand firm. Here is a simple check list for you to use while you are going through this trying time. 1.      Review the details of your insurance appeals process . Insurance companies are required to give you all the tools you need to properly make an appeal. There are certain timeframes to appeal so make sure you act fast. 2.      Make sure you have all your paperwork in order . Keep records of everything: the bills from your provider, your explanations of benefit, copies of denial letters, your medical records, letters from your provider, etc. 3.      Contact your Human Resources Department. (if you receive coverage through your employer). HR Departments are often equipped to provide you with some direction and can translate the fine print of your policy. 4.      Check your insurer’s medical policy . Ask your physician to review and utilize it to prepare a “Letter of Medical Necessity” to support your case.  Your physician is your best resource in preparing a successful appeal. 5.      Take detailed notes when you speak to the insurance company . Write down the time and date, length of the call, the name and title of the person you speak with, and all the details of the conversation. Make note of any follow-up activities and next steps by all parties. 6.      Write down your argument. Make notes of exactly what happened, when and why. If you are seeking approval for treatment, note any supporting science, clinical evidence, expected benefits, etc. Be clear, firm and concise. Make it clear that you plan to pursue the appeal until it is resolved and the claim is paid or care is approved. 7.      Keep on top of the insurance company. Many appeals take weeks, even months, so call often to check in on the status. And take notes of each call. 8.      An appeal may go through many levels. All insurance companies are required by law to have an appeals process. And most of these have at least three levels. The first level appeals are usually processed and reviewed by the insurance company’s appeals staff or by the insurance company’s medical director responsible for the denial. The second-level appeals are reviewed by a medical director not involved in the original claim decision. And the third-level appeals are usually completed by an independent, third-party reviewer in collaboration with a physician who is board-certified in the same specialty as the patient’s physician.  If your appeal is elevated to the third level and the insurance company continues to deny your claim, you can then take your appeal to the state level. Contact your state’s Insurance Department (contact information is usually found on your state government’s website) for more information. 9.     Seek professional help. If you believe you have a case but are physically unable to handle the appeals process, there are professional health advocacy organizations that can compile and submit the appeal on your behalf. Health Advocate, Inc. and Health Proponent are two of the advocacy industry leaders who can assign a personal health advocate to your case. 10.  Notify your healthcare professionals. If your appeal is successful, you will want to explain the situation to your healthcare providers as soon as possible to avoid any lapse in care or damage to your credit. Before you file an appeal, talk with your insurer to understand why your claim was denied. The biggest mistake people make is that they write an appeal that doesn’t really address the reason for the denial. Good luck. Let me know how  it turns out. Are These BP Artists Good Enough to Get Signed? Lil’ Kim & Nicki Minaj To Perform Together At BET Awards? Sean Kingston Released From The Hospital! MTV News caught up with Radcliffe recently and talk turned to his affiliation with the gay rights/ civil liberties causes, so we asked if he’d ever come into contact with another passionate supporter: Lady Gaga. His response wasn’t quite what was expected. “No, never, although my mom and dad, bizarrely, went to her concert,” Radcliffe said with a laugh. “Like, my parents at a Lady Gaga concert, which I just think is the coolest, oddest thing … they’re ahead of me on most things pop culture.”

Kristen Stewart Apologizes for "Enormous Mistake"

Way to go, Kristen Stewart. Under fire for invoking the word “rape” when explaining what it feels like to be photographed by the paparazzi, the Twilight Saga star didn’t hem or haw or make any excuses. She simply came out and apologized today. “I really made an enormous mistake – clearly and obviously,” Stewart said to People . “And I’m really sorry about my choice of words. “”‘Violated’ definitely would have been a better way of expressing the thought. People thinking that I’m insensitive about this subject rips my guts out. I made a big mistake.” We commend Kristen for tackling the error head on and owning up to her poor word choice. She’s actually played a big role in combating violence against women in recent years, having appeared in public service announcements for the advocacy groups RAINN and for SOC.

Ronald McDonald Continues To Be The Icon For McDonald Restaurants

The United States drive for a healthier America wants Ronald McDonald to retire for it promotes unhealthy eating and lifestyle among people. Ronald McDonald is the famous clown character used as the primary mascot of the McDonald’s fast-food restaurant chain. McDonald’s Corporation Chief Executive Officer Jim Skinner voiced out that Ronald McDonald won’t be in for retirement. “The answer is no,” Skinner told a room full of shareholders who gathered for a meeting at the company’s headquarters in the Chicago suburb of Oak Brook, Illinois. “He is a force for good,” Skinner said, adding that the nearly 50-year-old clown is an ambassador for the McDonald’s brand and its Ronald McDonald House of Charities. “He communicates effectively with children and families around balanced, active lifestyles. He does not hawk food.” Shareholders applauded Skinner. And they unleashed a chorus of boos when representatives from the advocacy group Corporate Accountability International requested the famous icon be shelved – for good. Liberals say bill without public option won’t pass

Liberal Democrats in the House say that a healthcare reform bill that doesn’t include the so-called public option won’t pass.

President Barack Obama, as well as his press secretary and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius signaled Sunday that they were open to a healthcare bill that didn’t carry the public option. But their remarks have sent liberal Democrats into a tailspin, and haven’t drawn much backing from Republicans in Congress.

The public option would create a public insurance carrier that would be handled by the government and compete with private insurance companies, likely driving down premiums and negotiating lower payments for drugs and services.

“A bill without a public option won’t pass the House,” Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) told Politico for an article published Tuesday. “Not only are they weakening their proposal, but they are also weakening their hand. This is legislative subtraction by subtraction.”

The Congressional Black Caucus echoed Weiner’s remarks in a private letter to Obama’s health secretary, the site says.

“To take the public option off the table would be a grave error; passage in the House of Representatives depends upon inclusion of it,” wrote Reps. Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) and Barbara Lee (D-CA).

The three Democrats also included a list of 60 members of Congress who say the bill must contain a public option.
