Jimmy Fallon’s been using the Tonight Show’s stint in L.A. to reference classic West Coast television, and Wednesday night was no exception. He reunited the cast of Saved by the Bell – well, most of it, anyway – for a few shining moments. Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tiffani-Amber Thiessen all turned up in period-appropriate ’90s attire – Thiesen in Kelli Kapowski’s cheerleader uniform – for a bit of historical revision that sees Fallon tell his friends he’s moving to New York to try and audition for Saturday Night Live. There are winking references to cherished moments from Saved by the Bell’s past, from Slater’s ballet skills, Zack’s brick of a cell phone and Jessie’s caffeine-pill addiction – even Dennis Haskins’s Mr. Belding shows up!
