Big Ballers Beware! LaVar’s Shoe Brand Got An “F” Rating From The Better Business Bureau For “Substandard Business Practice”

Big Baller Brand Given F-Rating By Better Business Bureau LaVar Ball’s Big Baller Brand is facing some serious problems with an even bigger BBB — the Better Business Bureau. For the unfamiliar, The Better Business Bureau is a nonprofit organization that has been around for over 100 years that monitors business practices in the interest of consumer protection. According to them… Big Baller Brand is a borderline scam-level operation . Mind you, the company’s ZO2 shoes go for $495, with sandals starting at $220, and the Melo Ball 1’s are $395. Hoodies start at around $100. But that price tag isn’t exactly coming with a high-quality product or particularly good customer service, let customer reviews tell it. According to NYDN, the company has received 32 complaints and 44 negative reviews — no positive reviews AT ALL — on the Better Business Bureau. Those figures exceed the limit to give LaVar’s brand the lowest rating possible by the business evaluator. The most common complaints are from customers who never received their products , weren’t refunded, or received the wrong items altogether. And apparently, when the company fails to deliver on product and customers inquire about their shipment status, the company calls them broke and does not refund the money. One customer wrote on the site last November: “This company does not offer refunds. I purchased 2 items and was told there would be a 1-2 week delay. I have been waiting 6 weeks now, and when I asked why it was taking so long, I was called a ‘small baller’. At this point I believe they have decided to steal my money.” The Better Business Bureau reports that they’ve reached out to BBB multiple times to help with their consumer issues…but unsurprisingly the offer has been pretty much ignored. Sheesh. We guess the issues should have been obvious when not even Jay-Z managed to receive his Big Baller purchase from LaVar & crew. SMH. Getty/WENN

Kylie Jenner: Put on BLAST for Ridiculously Expensive Brush Set

Here’s some free advice for Kylie Jenner: You may want to hurry up and announce your pregnancy to the world. It will serve as a distraction to another announcement you recently made, one that is not being met with positive reviews from your fans. Late this week, Jenner’s shockingly successful makeup business alerted the public to a brand new 16-piece brush set that is now on sale. This Kylie Cosmetic kit – which features a number of sleek-looking brushes – is the third product in the Silver Series set from the popular brand… and is being offered for $360. Yes, $360. For a bunch of brushes. In response to this hilarious/ridiculous figure, fashion blog publisher and fans jumped on social to express their disappointment over the price, prompting Kylie to respond with a tweet of her own on Saturday. It reads: “I have developed for you guys the most amazing luxury brushes ever. I am very excited! Real brushes don’t compare to synthetic brushes. “Different performance/quality/everything. I am 100% down to do an entire synthetic line in the future which will ultimately be cheaper.” She added: “I always fight for the lowest price on all my products. Here are some other real brush lines for reference…” And she’s right: there’s one set in the above-referenced collection that retails for $650. Jenner went on to acknowledge the criticism, telling followers:  “I hear you guys, love you guys and truly just want the best.” Whatever Kylie is doing at her company, it’s clearly working. A somewhat recent report valued Kylie Cosmetics at $1 billion , which is just… it’s totally and completely and utterly insane. What started as a simple lip gloss kit has blossomed, in just a couple of years, into a global empire. Still, that doesn’t mean everyone was satisfied with Kylie’s explanation or the price of these brushes. “Thanks but I’ll buy food with that money instead,” wrote one Internet user, while another added: “Sorry girl but that’s just waaaay to expensive! There are so many other brands that make quality brushes for affordable prices.” Others said they were worried about with whether or not the brushes were cruelty-free and asked what type of hair was used in the brushes. This is serious business, apparently, this makeup stuff. Women do NOT mess around when it comes to their products. And despite its financial success, Kylie Cosmetics has not received high grades from the Better Business Bureau. “All I’m saying is if you wanna charge luxury prices, provide luxury quality,” wrote one critic. It’s hard to argue with that point, isn’t it? View Slideshow: Kylie Jenner: Is She REALLY Faking Her Pregnancy?!

Kylie Jenner: Ripping Off Lip Kit Customers?!

With all the attention that’s been paid to her trout pout over the past year, it was only a matter of time before the  Kylie Jenner lip kit became a thing. Kylie is a master of marketing herself, and naturally, the $29 gloss and liner sets sold out within minutes. Unfortunately, fans who were hoping to give themselves the gift of Kylie-like lips in time for the holidays may be disappointed. TMZ is reporting that irate customers are flooding social media with complaints that they never received their lip kits . Some of them say they pre-ordered weeks ago and their tracking numbers indicate that the product should have been delivered already. The problem has gotten so bad that lip kit buyers have threatened to contact the Better Business Bureau.  Facebook and Twitter pages for C&S Sales – the maker and distributor of the lip kit – are being bombarded with complaints. One woman recently commented, “At what point do we report this as fraud?” and her gripe has received dozens of likes. Neither Kylie nor C&S has commented, but we’re guessing this one business venture Kylie regrets. Looks like she’ll be ending her year with more lip kit drama than she bargained for. 50 Cent’s Bankruptcy of the Day

A video posted by 50 Cent (@50cent) on Sep 5, 2015 at 7:53am PDT I saw this trending on Facebook….and figured that I am both behind the curve, always bhind in the news, not because I have a life, but because I hate the computer, and ultimately don’t care about 50 cents finances, but the masses care…and that means I have an opinion on it… Declaring personal bankruptcy is a strategy to not pay your debts including to the IRS, which is usually more affordable or better business than actually paying them, because if you owe the government millions of dollars, you can just shelter that millions of dollars so that they can’t get it and be rich as fuck and bankrupted… It’s rich person problems… so 50 Cent is not poor because he’s bankrupt, he’s just stupid for bragging about his mansion in Africa, where I guess he’s moving to evade his tax bills… The fact that people are shocked by this, based on his career, his Vitamin water deal, and all the other shit he’s done… He can’t be bankrupt, like the traditional poor person kind of bankrupt….but he can be bankrupt legally, because why pay bills when you can just keep all your money…right… The post 50 Cent’s Bankruptcy of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepfather .

Disgraced Dan Rather Touted as Motivational Speaker, as ‘Always Ready to Deliver the Truth’

The Washington Post has repeatedly featured a full-page ad in recent days for a Get Motivated! Business Seminar in Washington in October. One of the big names at the event (alongside Colin Powell, Steve Forbes, and Rudy Giuliani) is disgraced former CBS anchor Dan Rather, teaching “How to Communicate Effectively.” Then the ad copy gets ridiculous: Dan Rather, Legendary News Anchor and Journalist, has covered every major story of the last 50 years, with distinction and a fierce dedication to hard news. He is always ready to deliver the truth the way it is! [Emphasis mine.] Hello, Better Business Bureau? Someone’s misleading the public about Dan Rather’s record of “distinction” in trying to sell fraudulent documents about President George W. Bush’s military service in the fall of 2004. His “fierce dedication” wasn’t to hard news. When his story was exposed as phony, he refused to admit he’d mangled the truth. The ad continues: Now the ‘hardest working man in journalism’ will teach you how to be successful: How to Develop an Action Play that Really Works Maintaining Excellence While Avoiding Burnout 4 Powerful Insights to Take Charge of Your Career Rather’s points ought to be something more like “Signs of Burnout: When You Don’t Care About Accuracy.” Or “4 Powerful Insights to Avoid Ending Your Career in a Closet Called ‘HDNet.'”
