Dammit, and he’s still alive??? Aurora Dark Knight Shooter James Holmes Tries To Commit Suicide In Jail According to TMZ reports : James Holmes — the shooter in the Aurora movie theater massacre — was hospitalized after several “half-hearted” suicide attempts … this according to law enforcement. According to cops, Holmes ran headfirst into a jail cell wall on Tuesday … and while he sustained injuries … they were not life-threatening. Holmes also reportedly stood on the bed in his cell and fell backwards … in an apparent attempt to crack his skull open. He failed. Holmes — who killed 12 people and injured 58 more during his July 20 shooting rampage — has since been released from the hospital. Awwww, jail life is pretty tough huh azzhole? Google where your major arteries are so you’ll be better prepared next time. We’re sure the victims’ families back in Colorado won’t miss him if he’s successful one day. Image via AP

George Zimmerman Broke: Trayvon Martin Killer to Seek Public Help With Legal Fees

Trayvon Martin murder suspect George Zimmerman is nearly broke, his lawyer said on Monday, and plans to ask the public to pay for his defense. “He really has to live as a hermit, unfortunately,” said Mark O’Mara of his client, who is awaiting trial. “He’s not doing well. He’s getting by.” His legal-defense fund, which once hovered around $210,000, is down to $50,000, with $20,000 in outstanding bills and no money coming in . George and his wife, Shellie Zimmerman , are out of work, living in hiding in Seminole County, and spending a ton deal of money on security. “Seminole County is unquestionably the most dangerous county, most expensive county for him to be in,” O’Mara told the media this week. He intends to ask the court to declare George Zimmerman indigent, which would mean that he needs the public to pay for his legal expenses. Zimmerman, again is free on bail, also will ask a judge to let him leave the county. “I want him safe. If he’s out of state, so be it,” O’Mara said. The request to be declared indigent will be awkward, given that he was raking in money this year – and had his bail revoked for not disclosing it. Zimmerman, from his cell at the Seminole County Jail, was directing his wife to move the money from one account to another in $9,990 chunks. Presumably, this was done to appear broke and qualify for a lower bond amount; in any case, O’Mara claimed he never knew about those funds. In any case, Zimmerman, a Neighborhood Watch volunteer, is charged with second-degree murder for killing Trayvon Martin, an unarmed teen. Zimmerman says he acted in self-defense, that the 17-year-old punched him and broke his nose, then got on top of him, threatening his life. But prosecutors allege Zimmerman is guilty of racial profiling, spotting the African-American teen, suspiciously following him, then killing him. Investigators say he missed opportunities to diffuse tension , though he has pleaded not guilty on all charges. His trial will be closely watched. Zimmerman apologized to Trayvon Martin’s parents at his first bail hearing and a second time in an interview on Fox News last month.

Lady Gaga Extolls Virtues of Manicures, Handjobs

Lady Gaga is all about manicures. One of the underrated reasons for this, she writes in her monthly column for V is that they leave you better prepared in case the need for a handjob strikes. Writes the Gaga: “Having a perfect manicure instantly makes you feel beautiful and clean.” Also, “You’ll be ready for sex, or to put a penis in your hand.” Hey, you can never be too prepared. Not sure how many guys ask if their partner has had a manicure lately when a HJ is on the horizon, but good to know, Lady Gaga . Good to know. Also, Mother Monster feels manicures bolster self-esteem, project an image of success which is good for biz, and help a woman to express herself. You know, in addition to providing smoother hand relief.

Johnny Depp to Pay Vanessa Paradis $150 Million in "Amicable" Settlement

Johnny Depp is ready to pay Vanessa Paradis a massive amount as a good faith gesture and to keep their separation amicable, according to reports. Though they were never married, the actor is prepared to give his partner of 14 years an out-of-court settlement in excess of $150 million. Depp and Paradis separated this week, but are determined to keep the already difficult breakup amicable. A nine-figure check can’t hurt. As the couple weren’t married, negotiations over financial support could be complicated, according to legal experts … which is why it just won’t happen. Call it the opposite of Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian . Depp harbors no ill will toward Paradis and wants to avoid legal wrangling. Said an insider: “he will make a generous lump sum payment as a settlement.” French singer Paradis is also expected to retain ownership of a house in Plan-de-la-Tour in southern France, leaving Depp with his Hollywood Hills home. Catelynn Lowell: I’m Not Pregnant!

Catelynn Lowell has cleared the air, once and for all, that she’s not pregnant. Which we already knew, but now there’s a new magazine cover to prove it! According to Us Weekly, which reports the ultimate non-story below, the Teen Mom star is “hurt” by rumors that she was pregnant again last week. The reality star tells the celeb gossip mag that it “wouldn’t be fair” to her daughter Carly, whom she gave up for adoption, to have another so fast. Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra graduated on this week’s Teen Mom, and the young lovers / step-siblings say they are planning a fairy tale wedding for next year. They hope Carly, who they’ve worked hard to maintain a relationship with after making the decision to allow someone to adopt her, will be there too. Here’s hoping she will, and that Tyler and Cate make good on their plans to continue their education so they’re better prepared to support baby #2! If she ever lacks for inspiration as far as formulating a life plan, she need not go far. All she needs to do is look at Amber Portwood and do the opposite.

23% of US students could earn C, at best, in first-year college courses

Even as high school graduates in recent years have grown increasingly better prepared for college, too many members of the class of 2009 cannot adequately perform all of the academic skills they will need to succeed, a report says. Just 23% of students, up from 22% last year, earned test scores suggesting they can earn at least a C in first-year college courses in English, math, reading and science, says the report, released today by the non-profit Iowa-based testing company ACT. It's based on scores of 1.48 million 2009 high school graduates who took the ACT's college entrance exam
