Teen Mom star Catelynn Lowell recently called off her Renaissance-themed wedding to her baby daddy, stepbrother and middle school sweetheart Tyler Baltierra. She tearfully recalled the experience on VH1’s Couples Therapy . “She was floored. She didn’t see it coming,” Dr. Jenn Berman, their Couples Therapy psychologist, told celebrity gossip publication In Touch . The couple has not broken up, however. At least not yet. The reality show’s couples counselor says she ultimately sees it as a positive move for the young lovers, who are still living together in Michigan. “I don’t view it as a setback,” she explains. “To get married before you are ready is disastrous. By calling off the wedding for now, they are giving themselves a chance for a long and healthy relationship.” Earlier this month, Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra confirmed that their July wedding plans came to a halt after he dropped a major bombshell. The shocking confession that Tyler isn’t ready for marriage yet left fiancee Catelynn reeling. “It’s absolutely devastating,” a friend of Lowell said. The couple’s relationship has been put to the test by time apart, as Tyler pursued an acting career in New Orleans and Catelynn stayed behind in Michigan. “Tyler just isn’t ready for marriage,” Dr. Berman added. “He was so afraid of hurting Catelynn’s feelings that he hadn’t been totally honest with her.” While there are obviously some issues there, the couple – who gave their daughter up for adoption – are light years ahead of Jenelle Evans at least.

Left Eye’s younger sister Reigndrop Lopes recently sat down with Mara of 4UMF for a quick chat, where she revealed that the family has not been in the loop about anything regarding the biopic since giving their permission to tell Lisa’s story. Check out a few interview excerpts below: On whether or not the family has been involved with the movie: “No, we’re not involved in anything actually dealing with TLC. We would love to be involved, but it’s just not the case. The movie, yeah we knew about it ’cause we had to sign off on it, but we still have nothing to do with the movie, and I don’t know the release date or the premiere date. We didn’t even know when they were shooting. The only way I found out was because a friend of mine was cast as an extra and flew down here, and I happened to go up there with her. We didn’t know anything at all. The only way I can kind of feel is just disappointed and hurt. I can’t point the finger at anyone ’cause I don’t know whose decisions these are. It could be a collective decision, it could be one person, I have no idea. “She [their mother] was hurt, she was pissed off, and hurt more than anything, but it’s like what can we do? Legally, I don’t think we can do anything, but it’s just more morally, why wouldn’t you involve the family? We’re right here in Atlanta, and we’re open to being involved. And when you don’t reach out, it makes you wonder why, question why. We don’t know why. On rumors of a TLC tour and the family’s thoughts on a Left Eye hologram being used: “I didn’t really know about the tour until you mentioned it. I knew about a couple of dates, Japan and PA, but I really didn’t know about a tour, I didn’t know about the album, you pretty much just mentioned it.” “Actually, I actually thought of the [hologram] idea doing that even well before 2Pac’s, but I didn’t know if it actually could be done. And then when I saw 2Pac’s, then I was like, okay, well they can do it. I would definitely be okay with it. I don’t how my mom..she mentioned it, and when she mentioned it, she seemed okay with it. From the fans, I hear both sides. I hear fans that would embrace it, and other fans say no, it’s too real. But, that’s saying that now, when I see it, that’s another story. The thing is, I know the kind of stuff Lisa was into, and that’s something Lisa would have loved, a hologram. So that’s what I think about too.” Wow. Alex McCord and Simon Van Kempen are about to enter Couples Therapy . Not for real, of course. For VH1. Sources confirm to The Huffington Post that these former Real Housewives of New York City stars will soon embark on another reality TV project with that network. Filming is already underway, with crews following Alex and Simon around the streets of The Big Apple. McCord, Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon and Cindy Barshop all got the axe from Bravo last year, with Alex the first to re-enter the world of television. She and Simon are expected to dish on their time as cast members during this new series, while also sharing details of their lives post- Housewives . We just REALLY hope we don’t hear any more about Van Kempen climaxing during child birth .

DMX Wife Tashera Simmons Talks To Essence Magazine About Their Divorce According to Essence For Tashera Simmons, longtime wife of troubled rapper DMX, the very private struggles of her 14-year marriage became public knowledge in the ’90s after his multiple arrests, prison stints and drug problems plagued the news. To add insult to injury, X’s infidelities took center stage as fans learned he’d fathered six children outside their marriage. The woman known as “Mrs. DMX,” mother of four children with the rapper, quickly earned a reputation for being the ultimate “ride or die chick” (some would say “doormat”), after standing by him through what many felt was more nonsense than any one wife should ever take. In 2005, the couple became estranged, and a few years later Simmons stopped staying silent to speak out about the verbal abuse she had endured as she struggled to find her own voice outside of X’s shadow. Most recently their relationship made headlines again when they starred on Vh1’s Couples Rehab this past spring in a final, and many felt desperate, attempt to repair their broken union. The rapper yelled and screamed at his wife repeatedly throughout the show, even confessing that he “never wanted to get married.” By the season finale, Simmons had reached her breaking point, and she shocked both X and viewers who felt she’d “never leave” by telling him she wants a divorce. Some fans feel it was all just for TV, and others say too little, too late — but none of that matters to Simmons today. She tells ESSENCE.com that she’s “definitely” moving forward with the divorce filing, and that this isn’t just the end of their story, it’s the beginning of hers. ESSENCE.COM: So, you’ve officially decided to file for divorce, right? TASHERA SIMMONS : Yes and no. There’s so much to be decided on, so we’re actually in the process of filling now. Our lawyers want to give us advice. On the show, he was really stunned and he couldn’t believe it. I don’t know why. After going through all the stuff we did — after he did all the things he has done and after us going through therapy — I was just like, I couldn’t leave [the show] without asking for a divorce. ESSENCE.COM: Was deciding on the divorce a tough decision? SIMMONS : I do still feel bad about getting a divorce, even after everything X put me through, because I took my vows very seriously. And, I know X is never going to love anyone the way he loves me, and I feel the same way about him. But [there] just comes a time when you give your all, and you know you gave your all, and it’s just time to move on. When you know [you’ve given] 100 percent, then I would say definitely consider divorce. Marriage wasn’t a joke for me… Regardless of what was going on, I still stayed loyal and faithful to my marriage. That’s why I can move on and feel really good right now because I know I gave my all to this marriage. ESSENCE.COM: What are you looking for in your next relationship? SIMMONS: Definitely someone who’s not so self-centered. I don’t say that in a negative way, but you know, X has a lot of issues. I can speak openly about it now, because, you know, everyone saw Couples Therapy, and they saw how X had a lot of childhood issues. So, I’m looking for somebody where we can meet halfway on everything, and it’s not always about that person… I don’t want someone to lose themselves in me either.
