Well a Memphis woman did exactly that — and then some — on Monday afternoon. Via WREG News : A woman is in jail after her husband came to serve her divorce papers and brought his new girlfriend along with him. Sharona Coach-Barnes faces assault charges after police say she took her anger out on her husband’s new lady. Coach-Barnes is being held on $30,000 bond. The affidavit reads like a soap opera, and police say Coach-Barnes was so angry, she even pulled a gun on the other woman. Police say Coach-Barnes lost her cool at a home in the 4400 block of Wooddale in east Memphis. According to an affidavit, Derico Barnes served her with divorce papers, and he brought his new girlfriend, Cherrita Evans, along. “I don’t see anything wrong with it,” one neighbor said. “They’re not together. He’s just letting his woman know there’s nothing to it. There’s nothing to her.” Riiiiiight…NOTHING wrong at all with throwing your girlfriend in your wife’s face while you’re still married. Totally logical thinking. How could anything possibly have gone wrong in this situation? Another neighbor, Teisa Foster, felt differently. “She should have got beat,” she said of Evans. That’s exactly what happened. Police say Coach-Barnes started punching Evans and even pepper-sprayed her. She and Derico took off running, but police say she wasn’t done yet. They say she got her mother and brother, found her husband and Evans, and pointed a gun at them as she drove by. Some said they understand why she would act out so violently. “Any kind of business that he has with her, he needs to do by himself until they get a proper divorce,” Foster said. “She has no rights in that.” Others said there is never an excuse for violence. “She didn’t do anything to her,” one woman said. “She needs to go to jail.” Welp, whether you feel the wife is right or wrong for delivering the fade …what exactly did this homewrecking ho think was going to happen? The couple has been wed for under two years and have no kids together… a source of contention between the pair throughout Porsha’s run on the Bravo franchise. Viewers have often watched as Williams talked about wanting children without giving up her career in charity work, while Stewart has countered that she cannot have it all. The divorce papers were filed in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia. Before Bishop Eddie Long came under fire for settling sexual abuse charges against him out of court when he vowed to fight them, Long’s finances were under scrutiny in a congressional investigation by Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley. WSB-TV starting looking into Long’s assets more than six months ago. Now with his wife Vanessa filing for divorce, Long’s finances are under the microscope. WSB-TV found very little paperwork because the church and its dozens of affiliated companies file very few public documents. Records show Long’s assets have been intertwined with New Birth’s assets for years, including New Birth paying approximately $200,000 in property taxes for Long and $85,000 in taxes for his private plane. Long’s financial troubles appear to be mounting. In addition to the undisclosed financial settlement to five young men who accused him of sexual abuse last summer, records show Long has agreed to pay nearly $2 million to settle a defaulted bank loan, he owes $200,000 to a developer, and in October church members sued Long for over $1 million in failed investments sold by a man he endorsed. WSB-TV requested an interview with Long, but a spokesperson told reporter Jodie Fleischer the bishop was too busy. Sick of living with his estranged wife at his Dallas, Texas, residence, NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders filed papers last week to have Pilar thrown out of their home, according to TMZ . From Deion’s perspective, his home is his “separate property,” property that he owns independently from Pilar. And with Pilar having signed a pre-nuptial agreement, Deion believes she should not continue to reside at the estate. Pilar has reportedly been trying to get the pre-nup she originally signed thrown out, because, she claims, she was forced to sign it under duress. Still, Deion maintains that Pilar was fully aware of what she was signing and “should be ordered to vacate the residence” immediately. Deion also wants Pilar brought to task on violating their county’s rules of conduct. TMZ reports: [As a resident of Collin County, when divorcing, one cannot]: – Disturb the peace of the children – Make disparaging remarks about the other or their family – Talk about the divorce in front of the kids Deion and Pilar’s divorce has been contentious from the beginning. New Birth Missionary Baptist Church plans to reopen its New Birth Academy this Thursday (January 19), according to Channel 2 Action News. New Birth Academy was a pre-K-12 school and was founded by New Birth’s senior pastor Bishop Eddie Long . As we previously reported, New Birth Academy’s abrupt announcement in December that it would close after 18 years left hundreds of students and parents looking for a new school. At the time New Birth said it was closing the school due to the poor economy and low student enrollment. It was announced at New Birth’s Sunday service that New Birth Academy will reopen through a cooperative agreement with Aurora Day School. Aurora has campuses in Tucker and Roswell. A school affiliated with Bishop Eddie Long’s Lithonia megachurch — New Birth Christian Academy — is shutting down. Parents received letters just two days before Christmas, telling them the school would close on January 4th. New Birth Christian Academy, which enrolls students in kindergarten through the 12th grade, has been struggling financially for years. A financial deficit and declining enrollment left its board of directors with no other option but to temporarily close the school. Art Franklin, a spokesman for New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, is keen to stress the school’s closure is not linked to the sexual allegations against Bishop Eddie Long, which culminated in the pastor taking a sabbatical to “tend to family business” after his wife Vanessa filed for divorce. The letter also stated the staff at New Birth will help students and parents find a new school. The academy, founded by Bishop Eddie Long and located within the church, is closing after 18 years, forcing parents of more than 200 students to scramble to find new schools by next week.
