Following the stunning news that Prince has been found dead at the age of 57, we could have chosen any one of an endless number of iconic performances by the artist with which to remember him by. But one performance in particular stood out among out staff. It took place at halftime of the Super Bowl in 2007, when Prince took to the stage for a unique show that featured his trademark energy, voice… and plenty of rain. In a clip posted by the National Football League on YouTube,, Super Bowl halftime show production designer Bruce Rodgers remembers someone breaking the news to Prince about the downpour. “Prince was like, ‘Can you make it rain harder?’” Rodgers says below. HA! We love it. The musician went on to play a medley of his most beloved songs, such as “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Baby I’m a Star,” and “Purple Rain,” along with Queen’s “We Will Rock You,” Creedance Clearwater Revival’s “Proud Mary,” Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower” and Foo Fighters’ “Best of You.” Relive this amazing performance below. Rest in peace, Prince. You will never be forgotten.
