Snapchat Facing Lawsuit Over Facial Recognition Technology Looks like the days of the annoying azz Snapchat filter s may be coming to an end. According to TMZ , the burgeoning social media platform is facing a class-action lawsuit over their facial recognition technology. The suit claims that Snapchat is retaining users’ biometric data when they use the filters that put faces and accessories on their heads. Users are afraid that their faces could be used in identity theft if Snapchat’s security firewall were to ever be compromised.
