According to TMZ , the District Attorney either doesn’t believe he has the evidence to convict Taquari Hatch, or, doesn’t believe that Taquari is guilty. In either case, he has decided not to file charges against him. Initially it was alleged that Taquari had committed identity theft in order to authorize wire transfers out of Boosie’s bank account. Taquari has maintained his innocence from day one. Boosie still ain’t f**kin’ with him.
Snapchat Facing Lawsuit Over Facial Recognition Technology Looks like the days of the annoying azz Snapchat filter s may be coming to an end. According to TMZ , the burgeoning social media platform is facing a class-action lawsuit over their facial recognition technology. The suit claims that Snapchat is retaining users’ biometric data when they use the filters that put faces and accessories on their heads. Users are afraid that their faces could be used in identity theft if Snapchat’s security firewall were to ever be compromised. Apollo Nida Close To Plea Deal In Identity Theft And Fraud Case Apollo better hope his plea deal can help him avoid more jail time, his azz will have to fight for his spot on the yard…again. According to Eur Web: Apollo Nida is reportedly ready to cut a plea deal with the government just two months after his arrest for identity theft, bank fraud, and conspiracy. The “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star and husband of Phaedra Parks was arrested on January 24. On February 14, the court granted a motion to delay the pre-trial proceedings until March 25. Since that time, his attorneys “and counsel for the government have been engaged in discussions…” newly filed court documents obtained by Radar Online reveal. “They are still in the process of investigating additional facts and negotiating a resolution,” the documents explain, and “have made substantial progress toward a resolution of this case.” As such, the court agreed to yet another extension, up until April 25, in the hopes that Nida will be able to come to a deal with the government. The new extension ensures he will have “sufficient time to consult with his counsel, investigate all facts material to resolving this matter, and continue said discussions with the government,” his attorneys wrote. Identity Theft Criminals Arrested After Posting Instagram Picture According to The Daily Mail Identity thief didn’t make a very good job of concealing his own identity after investigators were able to track him down through a picture he posted on Instagram of his steak dinner. Nathaniel Troy Maye, 44, of Harlem, New York, and his partner Tiwanna Tenise Thomason, 39, of Miramar, pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft and possession of unauthorized access devices on Friday in federal court in Fort Lauderdale. In a judicial first, the Instagram photo of a steak and macaroni and cheese dinner was cited as evidence in the federal felony complaint. IRS agents had few clues about the man who called himself Troy early on in the investigation but finally got their break through the help of the photo sharing website. On January 7, a witness working undercover for the IRS met Maye and Thomason at Morton’s steakhouse in Fort Lauderdale, the Sun Sentinel reports. He was supposed to hand over a flash drive containing 50,000 identities which he believed would be used to file fraudulent income tax returns. When the handover was made at the restaurant, the drive contained only 50 identities. But IRS agents were also able to find hidden data linking the drive to a ‘Troy Maye”. When a special agent searched online, she found an Instagram profile for ‘TROYMAYE’ who, on January 7, posted a picture of a steak and macaroni and cheese meal which he captioned ‘Morton’s’. His profile picture also matched the description the witness gave. When they were arrested at Thomason’s apartment, they found two flash drives containing around 50,000 illegally obtained identities. They face up to a dozen years in federal prison and large fines for stealing and attempting to sell 700,000 identities. One thing is for sure, he won’t be having steak dinners in prison.
