This just in at ML HQ: Esteemed Mad Men creator and occasional director Matthew Weiner will make his feature filmmaking debut with You Are Here , to co-star Owen Wilson and Zach Galifianakis in a “funny, charming, and deeply honest film about who we were, who we are, and discovering the power to embrace life, no matter how much you screw it up.” There is also a road trip! And possibly Amy Poehler! Read on for full details from producer Gilbert Films. ========= LOS ANGELES, March 28 — Gilbert Films announced today that their next theatrical film project, YOU ARE HERE, will start production in May 2012 in North Carolina. The film, written and to be directed by Matthew Weiner (creator of Emmy and Golden Globe winning series MAD MEN, writer/executive producer of THE SOPRANOS) will star Owen Wilson (MIDNIGHT IN PARIS, WEDDING CRASHERS) and Zach Galifianakis (THE HANGOVER, DUE DATE). Discussions are underway for Amy Poehler (PARKS & RECREATION) to co-star. Weiner will be making his big screen debut after having directed numerous episodes of the award-winning MAD MEN through its five years of production. Gary Gilbert, Scott Hornbacher, and Jordan Horowitz will produce. Lionsgate is handling international sales. Local weatherman and freewheeling bachelor Steve Dallas (Wilson) and bi-polar man-child Ben (Galafinakis) are childhood best friends who embark on a road trip home after Ben discovers that his estranged father has passed away. Once there, Ben is shocked to learn that his eccentric father had big plans for him and he’s inherited a whole lot more than his father’s money. As Ben struggles with his new responsibilities, his friendship with Steve is tested by the complications of his inheritance, his sister Terry’s (Poehler) ambition, and Steve’s desire to be with his father’s beautiful young widow Angela. YOU ARE HERE is a funny, charming, and deeply honest film about who we were, who we are, and discovering the power to embrace life, no matter how much you screw it up. “This movie has been my passion for eight years and to see it come together with Owen and Zach and Amy is a dream come true,” said Weiner. “I can’t wait to get started because the movie is about everything I care about and I’m tired of reading it out loud to my friends.” Noted Gilbert: “We are thrilled to finally bring this project to the screen. Singer, actor and author, Tyrese, visited Power 105.1′s hit morning show, “The Breakfast Club” recently in promotion of his new movie, “Transformers 3″. During the interview, he opened up about his new album, being with one woman, being a “sex symbol”, being labeled a relationship expert and his come back to the music world. When asked if men should only be with one woman, Tyrese responded: “If you’re in that space go ahead and get it out your system.” When asked about polygamy, Tyrese responded: “Well, if a man is going to move like that, then I don’t really think it needs a title. It’s just you moving around. The title polygamy is just like a concept of you moving around. Just ‘do you’ but my thing is if you’re going to move around like that, get your pimpin’ right and at least give the girls a heads up because I think the dipping off five-six women simultaneously making them all think they’re the only one, that’s when people get fired up at the end.” When asked about if it was hard being married in Hollywood, Tyrese responded: “You know what I just think the timing is important and there was some other things behind my marriage I won’t speak on. As if we really need another version of “Basketball Wives” right? Laura Govan, sister to Gloria Govan, ex-girlfriend of baller Gilbert Arenas and Shaq’s alleged mistress, sat down with the The Washington Post and opened up about the new reality show, “Basketball Wives LA”. If you haven’t already heard, this new series will feature basketball girlfriends, wives and exes living on the west coast- a spinoff to the original “Basketball Wives” series that takes place in Miami. Considering Laura’s highly publicized relationship with Gilbert Arenas, it was only right that she be apart of the “Basketball Wives LA” cast. The only problem is that Gilbert Arenas is actually trying to block Laura’s appearance on the show, and has threatened to sue the production company to stop the show from airing. When asked about this situation, Laura replied that she was not worried and stated, “Whatever happens, happens.” She also went on to say, “I just wanted to showcase a new chapter in my life. A fresh start, a fresh outlook on life as a single mom.” Laura gave birth to the couple’s fourth child a few weeks ago and says that she and Gilbert “do not communicate but are working in the best interests of their children.” Executive producer, Noah Pollack, loves the ongoing, made for TV drama, and called Laura a “spark plug”.
