Bacon, Hot Dogs And Sausage Look Worse For Heart Than Unprocessed Red Meat : NPR

The link between heart disease or diabetes and a diet rich in red meat has always been a little fuzzy. Some studies show a strong connection; others not so much. Now Harvard researchers think they may have turned up a reason for the discrepancy: Most studies don't distinguish between processed meat and fresh. (more at link) added by: Vierotchka

Kim Kardashian Shows Off Her Body in a Tight Dress of the Day

I know fat ass pretty fucking well and in knowing fat ass I know that there’s no way this bitch is not jacked up in multiple pairs of SPANX to give her ass shape and make her ass look big, round and unhuman. I also know that no matter how much make-up, or how tight a dress she squeezes herself into, she is still fucking useless as fuck and her time in the limelight that’s already been overcooked is gonna be over really fucking soon, leading to her going back to getting pissed on by black dudes on video where all this mess originally started a few years ago, cuz you part of me is convinced she’s not going to let the fame die down gracefully….but then again, she’s already made stupid money she didn’t really need cuz she already had it…so there is a chance she’ll just eat herself through this and end up dying of heart disease in 15 years at 500 pounds…. Unfortunately, I’m not minding these pics. Pics via PacificCoastNews Pics via Bauer

A Chocolate a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

When we were little, it has always been a source of our tantrums every time our parents exclude the chocolate bars we slipped into the grocery cart. We must admit, its everybody’s favorite. It gives a certain happiness every time we can mumble a bunch of it. However, we tend to control the amount of chocolate consumption from a basic reason of consuming large amount of it is tantamount to consuming in such much calories that it contains. The greater the amount of calories, the greater the risk of developing diseases. This paranoia lead to some people not to consume chocolates at all. There has been a study recently which proved that people who ate the most chocolate had a 27 percent and 48 percent reduced risk of heart attack and stroke. Sounds ironic isn’t it? In German Institute of Human Nutrition, in Nuthetal, Germany, there has been a study lead by Brian Buijsse which tells that eating as little as a quarter of an ounce of chocolate each day, may lower your risk of experiencing a heart attack or stroke. However Buijsse emphasized on the kind of chocolate that you would eat. “Dark chocolate exhibits the greatest effects, milk chocolate fewer, and white chocolate no effects.” Based on the study, compared with people who rarely ate chocolate (about one bar per month), the people who ate the most chocolate (slightly more than one bar per week) had a 27 percent and 48 percent reduced risk of heart attack and stroke, respectively, the researchers found. This is such a good news for chocolate addicts. But we should take into consideration that everything that is taken too much is not good. Everything should be in moderation. A six-pack a day keeps the doctor away

“Drinking a bottle of wine a day, or half a dozen beers, cuts the risk of heart disease by more than half in men, it has been shown. In one of the largest studies of the link between alcohol and heart disease, researchers have found that the protective effects of a daily tipple are not limited to those who drink moderately but also extend to those who consume at what are conventionally considered to be dangerously high levels.” Cheers, folks! added by: Ares 14 comments
