After seven weeks, Prince William returned safely from military duty in the remote Falkland Islands this morning. He and Kate Middleton are reunited! Early Wednesday, William, 29, arrived home with the rest of his Royal Air Force Search and Rescue helicopter crew. Kate, 30, met him at the airbase. Said an official statement released to the media: “The Duke of Cambridge returned to the U.K. this morning following completion of [his] operational deployment in the Falkland Islands. He will now have a brief period of leave before resuming Search and Rescue duties from RAF Valley shortly.” Now that they’re back together, Kate Middleton and Prince William will be at their cottage at Kensington Palace. He will also see members of his family. It is anticipated that William will have a few days off, which the pair “will spend privately,” a spokesman says. Kate, whose profile has increased significantly in recent weeks, is not expected to be undertaking any public engagements. Kate gave her first public speech at a hospice center this week.
