The Jolie-Pitts had a blast shooting The Tourist in Venice, she says: “My whole family came, we had this beautiful home looking out at the Grand Canal,” she said. “The kids got familiar with it and they often did their homework in boats.” Children may be a blessing, but date nights away from the kids, Jolie added, are crucial: “You also have to stay focused on each other so that you stay strong. That’s why they are six very strong individuals.” As for Shiloh’s tomboy look? “I don’t think it’s for the world to interpret anything,” Jolie says of her 4-year-old. “She likes to dress like a boy and wants her hair cut like a boy and she wanted to be called ‘John’ for a while…she wants to be like her brothers. It’s who she is.” “It’s been a surprise to us and it’s really interesting, but she’s so much more than that – she’s funny and sweet and pretty. But she does love a tie.”
