An attorney for the deceased’s family has released new information alleging that Smith’s wife Raquel Smith was shot twice in the legs by Smith’s killer Cardell Haye before Hayes turned turned the gun on Smith and shot him seven times in the back and once in the chest. SMH… WDSU reports: The attorney for the family of Will Smith spoke for the first time Wednesday to give an account of what happened the night the former Saints football player was killed. Thomson said Will Smith and his passengers came up to a Hummer, which was being driven by Cardell Hayes, and the vehicle came to a sudden stop. He said Will Smith slammed on his brakes to avoid hitting the Hummer and believed he didn’t. He said Will Smith noticed the Hummer pulling over and, out of concern for his safety, he drove away down Magazine Street. He said that shortly afterward, Smith saw the Hummer driving at high speed behind him and it rammed into his vehicle. Thomson said Will Smith got out of his car to find out what happened. He approached the two men who were in the Hummer. The attorney said the driver of the Hummer, Hayes, was enraged. Racquel Smith and the other woman who was with them went over to where the former football player was and brought him back to their vehicle. Thomson said the driver of the Hummer followed them and fired twice. The bullets struck Racquel Smith in her legs, and she collapsed. He said the driver then shot Will Smith six to eight times in his back. Thomson said the gunman showed no remorse and stood over the former football player’s body. The attorney also added that while Smith did have a loaded gun in his car, he never brandished it. This whole situation is just so sad, what are your thoughts on the Will Smith update???
