Planes Collide on Tarmac at JFK, Passengers Unharmed

A pair of plans collided at 6:19 a.m. today on the tarmac of JFK airport in New York, forcing a multitude of passengers to disembark. Fortunately, though, none were injured. The incident took place when Air India Flight 102 landed and was making its way toward the gate. It bumped into a parked Jet Blue plane near Terminal 4, sources confirm to The New York Post , which was parked and waiting for a tow bar replacement. A Jet Blue spokesman said the Airbus A320 “sustained damage to its rudder and taxied back to the gate,” adding: “The [150] customers were deplaned and boarded a new aircraft bound for West Palm Beach.” The FAA is looking into the situation, though an official says neither plane was under air traffic control when it went down.
